Who has been dealing with this the longest?  Do they eventually give up or do I need to call the phone company?

I keep getting calls from this number on my cell 760-536-8137 I called it back and it's a recording saying the number is not in service--a female voice recording.  After reading these notes, I can see it's some kind of scam.  Beware.

Verizon Wireless - Cincinnati
I've been getting about 2-3 calls a week during the evenings from this number.  Same details as everyone else; hangs up mid-call, leaves no voice message, etc.

Verizon Wireless customers: sign into your personal account via the web, go to My Services-->Verizon Safeguards-->Spam Controls.  There you can block SMS and calls from up to 5 numbers.  The block expires after 90 days, but it's better than nothing.  So far I've gone a week without any calls, and I'm kicking myself for not doing this earlier.

Check with your wireless carriers to see if they offer a similar solution, and good luck!

Got a call from 760-536-8137 @ 5:24PM cst. Answered the phone and put it on mute. No one said anything for a full minute, then some woman(who sounded like a toothless old hag) said "Hello....let me see" Then it hung up.

I received a call from this number.  They were selling Time-Warner service.  After giving my information to them, I regretted it and called Time-Warner directly the next day.  Turns out the call was legit, and I was scheduled for an install, but Time-Warner gave me a better deal when I called them.

was getting many calls and FINALLY picked up. they never left a voicemail. [***] said they were calling from time warner cable. told me they had a promotion for a chinese channel. asked who my internet provider was. it's time warner cable! clearly they weren't who they said they were.  GO TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU WEBSITE AND CONTACT THEM AND LET THEM KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING SO THESE PEOPLE CAN BE INVESTIGATED AND STOPPED! IT TAKES 2 SECONDS AND IT'S FREE. HERE'S THE LINK:

i almost want to talk to them when they call and pretend i'm interested so i can get info on who they are. DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR INFO. IT'S BAD ENOUGH THEY HAVE OUR PHONE NUMBERS! i want to tell them i'll pay whatever and get an address or SOMETHING and report them!!!!

the next time these creeps call, i'm going to give them a couple of alternate numbers to call for my information . . .

This started up 2 wks ago, it is now Dec 09. Can this number be blocked on our cell phones?

I've been getting daily calls from: 760 536-8137 - When I first answered, they were silent.  Then I decided not to answer and they leave no message.  Why can't something be done about this bothersome situation?

This number (760 536-8137) has been constantly calling everyday for the past month.  When I googled the number, I found that many people are complaining about the same thing.  No one speaks on the line and they leave no message.

Call from 760-536-8137 says unavailable on caller id .. they left no message on the answering machine .. i see that some people mentioned the caller stated they are from Time Warner Cable .. we recently cancelled our account with them and switched to Uverse .. so maybe they are calling to get us to switch back .. either way they never leave a message so they are going on my block list.

Called Dallas 1/26/10. We just went to unpublished number so obviously using auto-dialers within area codes and prefixes. easy to get the last 4 digits in micro-seconds. I think we will switch to Call Block feature and stop these low-lifes before the calls come through.

I keep getting  calls on my cell from that number.  I don't answer but they willl not leave a message.

Texas here.  I got a call from a rep claiming to be with Time Warner after I initiated a transfer of service.  He said they noticed it was either a cancellation or transfer, I confirmed that, he then asked me which one it was which I thought was odd since he was supposedly calling from Time Warner and should know what was going on with my account.  He did know my price lock guarantee was coming to an end soon and offered me a discounted rate after that period.  That was it, just wanted to inform me that I was going to receive a discount, however, now that my price lock guarantee is up, Time Warner is not offering me the discount he claimed, so I will be contacting them to ask why someone knows so much about their customers if they are not representing them.
