I don't know why gmail would allow this. I got someone calling me who obviously knows who I am and it's disconcerting. If the calls get threatening I will take it to authorities

Random call at 11:15pm est. They made a vm but ended the call without saying anything...

Google, I thought they were a search engine? Now they are making prank phone calls! This is wrong and they should stop.

I had the same number pop up! Must just be the generic number they use while you call from Gmail.  It's a great feature, but I suspect they will start charging in 2011 to use it.

I received a automated voice message on my daughters cell (which is in my name but not the number I use) saying it was Sergeant Ryan of the RCMP trying to contact me urgently. He gave a local number for the Sea Span office (604984165), which obviously had no idea. The message distressed my daughter and my wife as I was unavailable and they worried an accident had occurred. The voice message came from 7607058888.

The only problem I see with this is even though you may know it's someone calling from their gmail account, you don't know who is actually calling. They're going to have to work this one out.

No one in this thread is calling you, why the name calling?

By the look from most of the posts, is it's kids making prank calls to random numbers from their google  mail.

I have been getting phone numbers from this number also.

this is going to be fun for pervert..i dont expect this service to last long as more and more complaint start coming in.

I think it's funny that people either aren't reading any of these posts or they think that someone on these message boards can help them, by making the, "stop calling!" appeal. Whoever is calling you people from the gmail accounts aren't getting these messages... the Internet doesn't work that way... But seriously whoever is calling me from this number STOP CALLING ME! :)

this is just another way to lfind out  what people are upto,  becaue we all know every PC has an IP number

I recieved a call from the number back to back. i answered but i sound like someone was driving and could not hear me because of a bad connection although i never heard anyone say hello when i was saying hello.  when i called back the number said it was disconnected.

Received two calls in a row at approx. 5:00 p.m.  from 760-705-8888.  No one was there!  The calls came in over my cell phone, and needless to say, I don't want to waste my minutes on some clown playing games.
