- Charlie Pierce| 1 replyI recieved a call from this number during working hours, which illegal to call during work hours. Also could barely hear who or what they represented. Didn't trust it so I went online to check it out. Sounds unprofessional. A few weeks before this call I had someone trying to pretend they were a friend of mine and I should call them back. Another tactic from people like this.

- Confused CallerI have recieved several calls from a nasty employer of Nations Recovery Center in Atlanta, GA. The person calling identified herself as Denise Reddick. She demanded that I give her my financial information and make a payment today. She in turn called my bank pretending to be me and gave the associate from the bank my social. Luckily, she could not answer my password questions. After doing much research I found out that Miss. Reddick's full name was Terri Denise Reddick was involved in a scam involving creating false currency.

- MSUSpartan2012| 2 repliesDealing with Nations Recovery Center has quite possibly been the worse experience of my LIFE. In 2010, as I was finishing my undergraduate studies, I ended up having a medical emergency. As a result of my medical bills, I was evicted from my apartment and I ended up owing the management company $2400. Over the next year and a half, I paid on my debt until I got it down to $1228.00. By this time, NRC had purchased the debt and my first contact with them was with a Ms. Crystal Hillard. She called myself and my fiancee and left voice mails threatening to find out where we worked so that our wages could be garnished. She further stated that in order for this not to happen, one of us had to contact her before 6PM that day. I called her and paid $300 on the balance and about two weeks later, I paid another $100 on the balance. The final balance was $828.00 and we set up a payment plan. I let Ms. Hillard know that my bank had a daily limit and if she ran my card for the whole amount, it would decline. I told her to set it up for two payments. Well, literally, right after we got off the phone, she (or someone in her office) ran the card for the full amount not once but THREE times! My bank suspected that this was fraud and my account was disabled until I went to a local branch to show my ID. In the meantime (today, 11/7/2012), Ms. Hillard called my phone and because I didn't answer (I was in class), she decided to call several of my friends and relatives (along with one of my fiancee's friends and one of her aunts) to let them know that I have a debt with NRC and if it was at all possible, to please have me get in touch with her. My fiancee was understandably quite upset and sent me a text message (to go along with the TM's and calls that I got from my mother, grandmother, father, and my fiancee's aunt) letting me know that Ms. Hillard had called her cell phone five or six times in an hour! I called NRC and spoke with a supervisor who assured me that this behavior is not in keeping with NRC policies and she stated that she was going to be pulling all of the calls. What can I do to protect myself from this sort of harassment? I acknowledge the debt is mine and am paying it off (and if Ms. Hillard hadn't run my card for the whole $828, she would have had half of the payment on 11/5 with the final payment coming on 11/15).

- Matt replies to MSUSpartan2012| 1 replyHalf of what you said is illegal. They can't discuss your debt with other people. I know this company is bad news. They have called my step-mom and step-grandma and my roommate and told them I wrote bad checks and they need to serve me papers and then called me and told me they've talked to my relatives and to save further embarrassment to call them back. Completely illegal. You should sue them. I told my mom and step-mom don't believe them. I think they want to scare them into giving money for me so I don't go to jail. Now that they know these guys are scammers, it's ok, but they have also called my work. If they continue to call, I am going to sue.
Your situation seems worse, and I would sue if I were you. - Matt replies to Mattbtw-the check thing is bogus.

- GregI got a call this morning from a person from NRC. I don't know what her name was she was speaking so fast and rude. She asked if a "insert name" was there with a social security # ending in "****". I told that was not information she needed to have and why was she calling? She said she could not answer any questions until I verified that I was the person and my social ended in"****". this went on for about 2 minutes at which point I hung up on her and immediately called back the number and spoke to the operator to try and identify who this was calling my phone. She would not identify herself nor her company and became belligerent and rude and then hung up on me. I called back seven times and was hung up on. I called back and started typing random names into the company directory. I have some extensions where they are if you want to call them back Ext #2192 is a valid extension and extension #2128 is a valid extension. The first one I left a message and asked if they were some kind of identity theft ring calling my phone with names and social security numbers. I told them I would report them to the authorities and I was very suspicious about their actions and they caused me great alarm. I then called the second extension and spoke with someone there. When I started asking questions he became belligerent and told me I did not get to dictate the conversation and asked if I wanted to speak to his supervisor. I said absolutely. I told him my suspicions of them being an identity theft ring and I was going to report them and he said "get in line" and hung up.

- diva replies to TerrieI worked at this company. Let me tell you there are a lot of good collectors there that lied to the people...but there is a collector name Kevin Baker. If you ever get a call from him record it because he says and does the most damaging things to people..
- Mason Recovery WarningThis guy John Mason from Mason Recovery calls me about a debt I had 3 years ago. He told me to give him a good faith check and that would by me time to dispute charges on the debt. I gave him a check over the phone for $25.00 and in two days I get a call from some women saying that I bounced $1000 check. I told her that I never authorized a check for $1000 dollars and what I was told. She then gets John Mason on the phone and he tells me that isn't what he said and begins to argue with me. I told him I would pay him $25.00 a month and he said he won't take that. I told him then I'll deal with the company and he can send me his bill. He now calls once a month and never sent any paperwork which is illegal by law. He had 5 days from contact to send written notice of the bill. I also called the hospital and they said they no longer have anything to do with it as it is too old and that the money recovered would go only to John Mason Recovery which turns out to be a part of the NCR, which is a group of individual debt recovery companies. I contacted the FDCPA and reported what they are doing.

- MZ| 1 replyReceived a call from this number. Does anyone know why they call or what they want. I only see the call on my caller ID. Do they request anything? All I see is that it's a scam and they are rude and aggressive..
Towards what? What kind of scam. How do we get the calls stopped? These comments are from 2010. I guess they are still in business.- Caller: ?

- A. RobertsI was called repeatedly. The representative named Marcia Grant Davis told me that I had an account with Associated Credit Union that was overdrawn and that she was trying to decide whether to close. She said she represented the credit union (not a collection agency). She said that if I made the payments she would not close my account. I paid as agreed and my account was already closed and with a collection agency. More over the account was not credited the payment balance at all!! Do not pay these people!! Pay the account directly! I am not exaggerating. Consider yourself warned.
