called once with a sloww deep voice...i hung up, number called back and left a voicemail asking why i hung up...then he reapeted my full name adress and parents name. really got me scared...he called back again and played his game fo a lil bit...told him he had alot of on his hands to be doin this...he was verry threatinng

I just received a call from (777)777-7777.  Normally, I don't answer numbers I don't know, but this number made me curious.

They asked for Lidia (Lee-dee-uh).  I said they had the wrong number and then they wished me a happy new year.

It was kind of echo-y, but I swear I also heard them say "we did it!" after I said it was a wrong number.

Received a call from this number and the caller was screaming obscenities and making strange noises.

I have been receiving calls consistently from this number and 10000000, 55555555, 9999999999, 6666222222, 5566644444, and other similar numbers.  I don't answer the call.  Anybody know how to stop this?  I am registed with the Do No Call list

Get this call a few times a day, and answered for the first time today at 2:30pm.  Was asked to press 1 to verify my name, then transfered to a woman (by the way, she had absolutely no personality and didn't seem to know much about her job) who informed me that my Old Navy Visa card account is past due.  Maybe credit card companies are learning to hide their numbers in hopes that we'll start answering their calls?  Also have heard this is a yahoo messenger call, so not sure how legitimate companies expect to be taken seriously.

Received several calls from 222-222-2222...444-444-4444...666-666-6666...777-777-7777.  All computerized voices stating: If this is 'SO and SO' please press #1.  I do not answer, as I checked these numbers with different Website search engines and it has become clear these calls are mostly DESPICABLE PRANK calls.  Although, there are (foreign accented) people who have been contracted with collection agencies to try and reach those who have fallen in arears with their bills or financial institutions who use multible Phone Tactics to harrass people.  They too use these different websites to mask their intentions.  One site:  http://www.ospenterprises.com/phone/... I understand has features to dial/call people and hide their identity.  If you get a call again on your Cell, get a tape recorder and turn the speaker on to record the call.  Then turn it into the police or your phone company. You can even put them on the no-call list with the Gov.

This number keeps calling nonstop.  It started at 7am in the morning and did not stop all day isn't there a law about this kind of abuse?   When I answer they put me on hold and then disconnect.  Or, I press one like it tells me to and then disconnects me.  Stop calling me!!!!

My daughter received a call from this number today. Friday April 3, 2009.  She missed the call.  There was no message.  Wish I knew who it was. I googled the number and found this page.  I think its weird.  My daughter thinks someone called and used a feature that allows you to put this number.  Has anyone figured out who is calling?

I just got a call from 777-7777 and it sounded like an indian but i hung up and they called back and i answered and hung up on them again. how do i stop it? what is it?! whos calling me?!

I keep receiving a calls from 777-888-0935 stating I won grant money of 5,000 told them to quit calling me that I knew it was a scam! Then they stated that the gov't does not lie...lol, I laughed at them then told them again to quit calling me. I asked if they needed my bank info they said yes.. and again I told them that this was a scam! They keep calling me and harrassing me this is insane! Just a warning to all the government does to call you and tell you to give out your bank info, this is a scam.

i have a friend who is deployed in Afghanistan. when he calls via army phone, it shows up all 7s

Just a little information for those wondering. This is normally:

A) Someone calling you from Yahoo Messenger (YOU CAN TRACE THIS) Well, the police can. Yahoo keeps track of all calls in and out of their web system. They could find out who called your phone at the time specified and what IP they had. They trace this back to the ISP, and the ISP provides the customer that had the lease on the IP for that period. Simple enough..

B) Someone that has access to a commercial phone system - I have been doing telecomm and technology for 12 years. It used to be when you called from a number the phone company would attach you Caller ID tag. Now because business want to control what number shows up Ma Bell gave them the control over their Caller ID tag. Many companies don't even check if they are transmitting one they own.  This is hard to trace but possible. If the call is bad enough (repetitive, threatening, etc) pick back up your phone and press *77. This sets off a trace at the the phone switch. It now logs the last call, and circuit path it took to get to you. Now the hard part, the police have to get involved. They can get that trace from the phone company (TELL THEM YOU PRESSED *77). They then have to talk to each phone company it jumped along the way. This isn't has hard as you think. They can identify the building it came from but weather you will ever know WHO made the call is based on if their phone system can trace it.

Received a call to my VERY PRIVATE cell number today 1-20-09 at 6:40 PST when I answered called hung up.

I'm from Kazakstan.And to my friend called this number.He can change voice/It's joke.Don't believe this.This man said to my friend which mision need doing.Maybe you don't undestand me because I'm studying English

I don't know who calls from this number but I'm tired of it. Its nonstop. I think the phone comnpany should make call block free to everyone so these jerks could be blocked.

Well, long story short, this guy called me and immediately started threatening me in an abusive manner--actually saying that he would kill me if I hung up. Thus, deeply in fear I couldn't hang up and kept listening. Then he went on about being able to see me currently and exactly was able to say what I was wearing! Then he started talking faster...said that I should hang up and call him myself immediately. I asked him what his number was and he said 911. I couldn't refuse because I was quite sure he was able to see me. So..unfortunately I couldn't recognize this number..and dialed it. And hola! The next thing I know I have to pay them $300 because they refuse to believe my story...Haven't recieved a call from him since then.
