777-777-7777 called me this evening asked me to do a survey i do not give information over the phone. Is this an actual company?

I put my # on Facebook the night before n the next night i got a creepy call 5 times ina row with no sound then the 6th said i see you ina dark voice then he asked if my name was devon n were i live..... how does he know this of course he has me on Facebook so if this helps you all Your Welcome i bitched him out last night about calling he hasnt called back since

4time 777-777-7777 called but first time this week- he said his name was reggie said he was from spc research- no listing on internet,he said he used auto dialer. he wouldnt tell me where he was calling from or  give  me his employee id #which they are suppose ot do when you ask. he wouldnt  let me speak with the supervisor. this number. you cant call this number back  as it is not areal number..
i am  on the do not  call list. my number is restricted .. the company they said isnt even on the net.  reggie asked me if i recycle -  this is why they are  calling? he had a  foriegn accent- english was poor think he from india. my number is restricted. he will get fine by crtc for calling me  hope he get s shots or put in jail.. other three times they called  they didnt say anything just heavy breathed..
i am going to be pressing call trace next time they call.  told reggie ot take my number off there list. and to get a life

3 calls in 2 days - Same stupid thing about a survey. I have told them not to phone back eachtime, but they do not listen.  I have also dialed  *57 afterwards so that the calls have been traced. (777-777-7777 is not a legitimate number).  Hopefully Telus can now pass on the traced (real) number to the police and the problem will be dealt with.

keeps calling...only hear static on answering machine...WHO are you and why do you keep calling and not leaving messages?

Repeated daily calls at all hours.  Finally gave in.

Fellow says he's calling from SBT Research in Manilla, "...just need to ask you a few questions for our survey."   I told him he's wasting his time, and if he'd like, we can chat for awile -- which we did.  Finally he gave up and said he'd take me off the list. We'll see I guess.

I just received 2 calls today from this number.  The first time they asked me to answer some questions.  I was just in a car accident and when I said no, she asked me WHY? I hung up.  The same lady with and accent called back.  I told her to take me off her list...she said WHY again and when I asked to speak with her manager, she said WHY again...when I told her I was going to complain and ask mgr to take me off the list, she just kept saying WHY.  I finally told her where to go and hung up.

They called our office 4 times yesterday. First time was a hangup. Second time they asked my coworker if she wanted to do a survey and she told them she didn't have time. Third time she told them not to call us every again. They called back about 20 minutes later and hung up. Ridiculous. One more call and we'll be reporting them to the CRTC.

I keep getting this call and it is really annoying me, i haven't answered it yet, the next time they phone i am going to answer and freak on them!!!!

Getting the call for a "survey" here in central Alberta.

Someone unnecessairily called me and giving missed call at 12 :45 in the mid night.....who hell is doing this....

These guys had been calling me incessantly for a couple of weeks. I finally gave in and took their little survey, but fed them misinformation including a fake name. This call too was clearly from a south asian call centre.

Tonight I got a call from a woman, likely anglo/caucasian, who asked to speak to that fake name. The company was called "Breathe Easy" and wanted to clean my air ducts. She claimed to be calling from Ottawa, but I couldn't find any reference to an Ottawa company by that name. I did find one in Peterborough, and one in Alberta, but don't know which called me.

I suspect these guys made the mistake of signing up with a sleazy lead-generation provider who ran the surveys and used cheap & poorly run offshore call centres (hence the late/persistent calls, faked caller id, DNC ignorance), but don't really know.

Perhaps somebody else can do the same thing to see if it's for the same customer. It would also be interesting to know who this lead generation provider is. I expect if you pressed the company that calls back (Breathe Easy in my case), they're probably oblivious to this problem.

For those of you wondering, this "survey" is a fairly decent attempt to get enough personal information from you to start a low-grade identity cull.  

During the course of the survey they manage to get around to asking for your first and last names, your address, the number of years you have lived there, what you do for a living, how long you have been at that job, and the name of your employer.  I'm sure you can put two and two together and see what they are going to go with that info.  If not, grab a credit card application form next time you are out shopping and see how many of the items match up.

Interstingly, they also go for broke at the end and try and get either a credit card number or the name of your bank so that they can send you the "cash gift" that you earned by completing the survey.  Certainly that would be a damaging addition to their pile of personal data, but it's not strictly necessary to start working the basic identity scams that they can run with the information that they have already collected at that point.

I keep getting the same call from these people asking me if anyone in the house smokes I keep telling her to stop calling then she calls back again and again.
