Strange, I just got a call from this number, no voicemail left. When I dialed back all it said, this is not a working number, call us back to the phone number left on voicemail.

Scam caller.

male called no name.  $19 charge for a car rental online to Ireland nothing has come out of your card we want to verify that you made this charge.  We had not.  We did use thrifty.com to try and rent a car for Phoenix AZ.  This entire call smelled of scam. We would not give any private data and we reported our card stolen so they could not remove any funds.

They left a voice message with a legit call back number but when I called my credit card number the claim number was not valid. Ignore the number and only call the numbers printed on the back of your cards!

The number might be real, but that does not mean the calls are.  Numbers and names can be spoofed in your caller ID.  With calls like this, the best thing to do is take any info you are given and then call the bank/credit union back on a number you know is good.
It is wise be careful with this type of call and not confirm or offer personal info that might  be used to compromise that or any other account. These calls are often used to get info for Identity Theft.

I just received a call from this number. I didn't answer and goggled the number. Then I called my bank...   FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD PEOPLE

Caller said he was from Bank of America and wanted my "full card number before proceeding." I said no and they hung up. I called the BOA number on the back of my debit card. BOA said they NEVER telephone their customers. They use text or email. BOA said my acct was A-OK. BOA also said they NEVER dial a customer using a phone number that is blocked or does not allow callbacks. 800-279-2674 does not allow callbacks. CALL YOUR BANK! DO NOT TALK TO THE CALLER FROM THIS NUMBER!

800-279-2674 is a valid number that was used by some banks. HOWEVER, hackers have spoofed this number to show up on your caller ID and are using it to scam money from your card account. DO NOT TALK TO A CALLER FROM THIS NUMBER. CONTACT YOUR BANK USING THE NUMBER ON THE BACK OF YOUR CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD.
