I FEEL SORRY FOR THE PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE THIS IS ALL TRUE...NOT EVERYONE HAS COMPUTERS TO FIND OUT IT IS A HOAX....

Got a blue card  that says call this number to claim your prize. Signed "Susan Murray." It's a timeshare scam.

The dead giveaway is the presorted postage. Any "legitimate" prize would be either first class, or hand delivered a'la Publisher's clearing House.

Got the same letter; took the time to actually call back to the company, and let them know that I had done research about their company.  He was enthusiastic thinking that I was going to fall hook line and sinker; but I twisted and said that thanks to all the information on the internet, we were smart enough see the fraud in plain sight, and thanked him for taking the time to put such effort in the letters.

He started off very cool and calm, but the moment I told him that he was a fraud he changed his tone, and did everything but hang up on me mid sentence.

I suggest everyone play their game long enough to let them know that you are not idiots, and see their true colors over the phone.

AVC are nothing but scam and spammers.
They are nothing but vultures feeding off of any one they can.
What a bunch of piece of [***] sales people.

Do NOT call them, they will have your number and harass you by phone.
If they already have your number, block them!
If you get a letter in the mail just throw it away.

You will have to find out yourself to be sure if it is a sam, I am in agreement with you Mrs. X. A lot of these people are assuming, and did not even go. How are they supposed to file complaints? I just want to know how they find our information.

On July 19, 2010, I received a little blue card from AWARD VERIFICATION CENTER, 6321 Blvd 26, Suite 450, North Richland Hills, TX 76180.  I will be filing a complaint with the Fort Worth Better Business Bureau.  There is already a long list of complaints against them.

It's from Silverleaf Resorts.  I get little blue postcards in the mail from them every couple of months too.  They'll tell you that you won some kind of prize (usually a luxury car or an expensive vacation package), but they're just trying to sell you a crappy timeshare.  

Instead of just throwing it away, if you get a postcard from them, it's better to black out your address and put it back in the mail and write "wrong address."  That way, they'll have to pay for return postage.  If enough people do this, it will start to hurt these scam artists financially.

This is for a time share. Ypu go and view their property. You get some prize probably the smallest one. You dont have to buy the timeshare and you still get your little vacation or something.

My friends recently did this.  It was for Silver leaf resorts in Conroe, TX.  You have to attend the 90 min. tour.  They did and were given a cruise for 2.  They did have to pay the taxes and port fees which were about 100 bucks  a person.  also there is alot of black out dates.  But if you are flexible with your schedule, you can definitely get a 4 night cruise out of Galveston, TX.
