This is a legitimate Discover card number. I received a voicemail stating that they were verifying an unusual charge. I called 1-800-DISCOVER instead of the number left on the voicemail. Discover verified that they had called me because of a suspected fraudulent charge. Someone tried to purchase $1000 worth of stuff from bestbuy.com using my card number. I'm glad they alerted me so quickly.

I got the same call at 2:26 pm CDT.  They also said they were from Discover and I should verify the last 3 charges.  The first time I called It was some place that was going to give me free movies.  I hung up.  The second time I supposedly won a vacation for 2 to the Bahamas.  They said they would transfer me to an agent.  I hung up.  It's not valid folks.  I don't think Discover is pimping out movies and free vacations to the Bahamas.

Discover Card trying to increase credit limit. Wanted to collect info about present income, debt, etc. Dangerous because they can get that info off your credit report when they check your account every couple of years. So this tele-market group does not have access to all your Discover info, so they can't be from an actual Discover office.

The number is from the Discover fraud department.  They caught a suspicious purchase from best buy (online) that was made earlier today and contacted me.  I called the number on the back of my card and they verified it (then immediately closed my account).  I can't believe they caught it that fast.  I just hope they can catch the thieves and put them away.  Way to go discover!!!

The # IS LEGIT and from Discover fraud department. They caught an on-line transaction in the middle of the night and called to verify. I had not placed the order so acct shut down and charge will be investigated. GREAT that Discover quickly caught the ID theft and notified me.

I got a call and they left a voicemail about fraud and my discover card. I tried to log onto my account to double check and I got the same alert through discover.com. It turned out to be a valid call - someone tried to charge $538 at walmart.com on my account.

People call your local  phone company and ask them  for a  number which u can  report unwanted calls  even if your on a do not call list  its IIgeal for them to call u

Current Discover card employee.This is not a Discover phone number. I got 2 calls from this number. Telling me to call. I called a Discover number that I knew was correct had customer service verify was not a Discover number. Then posted this message to protect our cardmembers! ITS A PHISHING SCAM FOR YOUR PERSONAL INFO! DONT FALL FOR IT!

800-350-4577 I want to know who this is calling thety call me about 3 times daily and i don't answer 800 callers without ID name and I am tired of them.

This is Discover card fraud protection unit. However, I called the number on the back of my card.
after I put in the usual required info on any inquiry, I was asked  to verify charges to my account and the automated voice listed the date, amount and vendor. I am very happy that Discover is doing this, but I would not answer the questions on the voice mail message. Although, I have had Discover for many years I recently was sent a new card in the mail, followed the activation that was requested but I did have a charge on my new card (same account #) that was larger than my usual expenditures.

Discover card fraud #. I did not return the call but called the number on my card. Checking to make sure I made a purchase that was out of character for me. Glad they checked but would not answer any questions on a call such as this.

This is a legit automated call.  I had just made a large dollar purchase over the Internet and they wanted to verified that it was me.   I ignored the call the first time it came in and cut it off so didn't know it was Discover (caller ID just showed 800 #).  Then I looked up the number here.  After reading the comments I called Discover using 1-800-Discover.  They are just verifying large or unusual charges to prevent fraud.  

A few minutes later the 800-350-4577 called back so I picked up on it, answering the questions.  They never asked for any account information, only if I was the name on the card and if I made the last 2 purchases (push 1, but if not push 2).  This included the charge they were questioning. They called the phone number on my card account so they just needed verification and not any account information.

Valid number, same exp. as above mentioned.

They call couple times and want me to confirm transactions I made in my discover credit card and ask for full 16 digits of the card as well as ssn, dob....it's not right , it is a fraud. Never give them these information by phone.

This number called me and left a message on my answering machine.  When I called them back, it asked me to confirm the phone number that had been called... which was the phone I was holding.  It did not recognize the phone number and transferred me to a person that asked me for my credit card number.  I refused and called the number on the back of the card and asked for fraud prevention.  Fraud Prevention said they NEVER ask for a credit card number.  Sooooooo, trust this phone number at your peril.

Had a purchase of $350 today, and got 2 calls from this number.  I called the number on the back of my Discover card and they verified that this was a Discover Fraud prevention number.  He said it is not used often, but it is a valid number.

Same call, when I called Discover at the number on my card, they have no record of anyone at Discover calling me. This is phishing.

This number is Discover card fraud prevention. Don't know why they didn't leave a message-- they usually do.  But it's a legitimate call and you should call them back either on this number or on the number on the back of your card for your protection.

This number called my house twice within a couple of hours so I looked up the number. So many people said it was legit that I called back. It is a legit number, it is Discover Fraud Dept. I didn't have to give them any information at all. I called back from my home phone so I didn't even have to give them my number. It was all automated and asked me to verify three transactions. After I verified the transactions the recording said my card was again active. I assume my last transaction this morning locked the card. Good to know they are looking out, especially after that Target stuff around Christmas. Discover canceled our card because of the Target stuff and sent a new one Fed Ex because it was the holidays and Discover is our main card. I have no complaints about them, great company!
