- Care-Free| 1 replyCaller asked for Tom who purchases our maintenance supplies. Told him Tom does not do that. Asked if Service Manager could call back. He gave his name as Jason Brown and the company RCS selling maintenance supplies. Asked him if he knew we are on the DO NOT CALL Registry. I reported this immediately. 800-548-3285 came thru as a blocked call on caller i.d.

- Jeff in S&R| 1 replyThis scam in variations has been around for the entire 35 years I have worked in shipping and receiving. Got a Rubachem call today...When I asked what they sold 'cause I wasn't familiar with their name... he said they didn't sell anything, just wanted to get the word out about their 30th aniversary and send me a free gift, What was my shipping info again? Finally had to hang up on them. I'll have to keep my eyes open for pkgs. from them to refuse.
- Jim B| 1 replyRubichem is a SCAM! Our company too has been scammed by them. Last summer I received a call from them. The caller was very sly, pretending that we were long time friends. He told me he just got back from months of sick leave after having prostate cancer. To make up for the time he missed he was going to send me a baseball cap, and also send along a "sampler" of the different cleaning products they sold. After listening to him go on about his health issues he added that his boss was hounding him to get some sales and he would give me an incredible deal on the sampler package. As soon as I insisted that I would NOT want anything sent, the phone hung up.
Just yesterday, The secretary forwarded a call to my desk announcing it was from Rubichem. I let it go to voicemail. When I listened to the message that was left, a lady said she was from RTS Sports and needed to confirm the shipping information for Fedex so she can ship the sports memorabilia package that I won to me. NO mention that she was from Rubichem in the voicemail. The caller ID was unavailable.
DO NOT AGREE TO ANYTHING FROM RUBICHEM! THEY DO NET EVEN DESERVE THE RESPECT OF ANSWERING THE PHONE.- Caller: Rubichem
- Mary Rothermel| 4 repliesRubachem is a legitimate company. A couple of weeks ago, I received a sales call similar to those described above. At the end of the call I told the salesman I did not want to order anything, he wasnt happy about it. After the call i did some research and found this site. heeding the warnings posted , i allerted my receiving department to be on the look out for packages from Rubachem. Over two weeks on and we havent received anything. People need to do a better job saying "no" or accept accountability when they order material from a telephone sales rep.

- A.L.| 1 replyDitto-very sleazy! First they left a message for my boss regarding "your Fed Ex package." When I called them back, "Terry Andrews" tried to sell me a box of ear plugs for $199.00(!) after schmoozing about sending me a Packers shirt. When I said I had to check pricing and call her back, that was the end of it...

- John HMy company was scammed by Rubachem Systems as well. We have gotten calls from them before. They tell you they are from RCS (which I'm sure a lot of people hear it and think they say that they are from RSC rental company) They offer to bring you by some free hats. I hang up at this point, so i don't know how the rest of the scam works. Our superintendent received a call about the free hats, and says that he answered with whatever. Later he received a call from Rubachem verifying their order. He told them he didn't know anything about an order from them, and at that the guy on the phone told him he would cancel the order. A few days later someone else on the job site received a package from Rubachem. I found this out when i got a bill for $988. This company has been trying to scam us for years and finally got through. Complete rip off prices. 12 rolls of caution tape at $19 per roll! 12 rolls of duct tape at $11.60 a roll. 12 pairs of safety glasses at 16.50 per pair. And 200 pairs of ear plugs for $199!! $83 for shipping these items!!
So first i had to leave a message as "all their representatives were busy." I called back the next day to try to speak to someone. I finally got to speak to Jim Reed (800-548-3285 ext.114) He claims that all their sales are through independent sellers. He also claims that the order he originally placed was much larger and upon verification the order was reduced. Our superintendent has been with us for 9 years and says he told them he did not place an order. I've personally know the guy for 20 years. I would tend to believe him over this stranger on the phone, who keeps throwing up an "I'm an old man" defense. He told me he would send me a return authorization number and and address and i told him i would also need a return shipping ticket. He said he was not going to pay for return shipping, and i told him i would not either as i had not ordered this. He claims he has no responsibility for the independent subs that sell his overpriced items. I told him, if that is the case then i have no responsibility for my superintendents. He told me, we will see what happens then, and that was pretty much the end of the conversation. About two weeks later we received a postage paid return shipping ticket. We sent the items back and haven't heard from them since. I guess i should have sent them an $85 bill for shipping like they tried to get me to pay.
This company is a joke. Google "rubachem systems review" and just check out the way they are using amazon book reviews to take heat away from people looking up their company.
The moral of this story is, THEY ARE SCAMMERS. All the positive reviews on here are from them. If you get scammed by them, stick to your guns and tell them to send you a paid freight ticket if they want their stuff back. They will send one as trying to scam out there junk again is more profitable then trying to sue someone when they have no signed orders. - John HI corrected the above, google "Rubachem Review" and see how they are scamming amazon's book reviews to try to save their name. 5 of the 8 reviews Rubachem has left talks about the book not being a scam. What a bunch of scums.
- TakenThey called and said they would split case on coil cleaner and foodgrade silicone because I told them they were too expensive. So they sent it and we didn't open it. We tried to get a return authorization, No Luck. The people are really hard to deal with. They then offered to drop the $400.00 bill down to $100.00. They must have a huge markup.

- SeanApparently, I'm not the only one who got this. However, the mischievous side of me decided to have a little fun. After receiving their "hand cleaner", I waited about two weeks for them to call for payment. I gave him an expired Visa number our company had in the past just to see if I could tweak him a little. He calls back about an hour later very politely and says "there must have been some kind of mistake, the card number is not valid". I apologize and give him an Amex number, also expired, and bid him a nice day. Another half hour, another call- had the receptionist put him off to have him call back later. Four more calls in the next two hours, all "I'm out of the office" or "too busy, will call back". Six days later and probably 20 calls after this started, I finally talk to him and ask for a Return Authorization so I can send back. He went from polite to nasty in a breath. All of this was recorded, and we play it around the office because it is the funniest thing I have heard in a while. Never give up an opportunity for a little humor, it makes the day alot better.

- matt| 3 repliesI just received the same call. The name given was Valerie Walker. She acted like she knew me, and when I told her that I was new to the position and did'nt know her, she made some lame excuse about being new herself? She talked about sports and said a free hat and t shirt were already on the way. At the very end of the call she slipped in some comment on the merchandise(handcleaners and ductape) that she would send me. I stopped her and said No, but that I would take a look at a catalog or website. She did'nt provide me with either and the call ended. Now I'm worried something will be shipped anyway and our receiving dept. won't catch it! TOTAL SCAMMERS!!
- Caller: Rubachem
- JessieSame scenario....They fast talk on the phone, send gift cards and T-shirts, then send cases of crappy "Sana Wipes" with no purchase order and charge $200 for one case! I tried to get an RMA number to send ours back and she tried to make me pay shipping and restocking fees. They are getting it back anyway. Also, isn't it illegal to record a conversation without the caller knowing?

- JustinI just had the same call and all I got was WAAAAY too much small talk, and by the accent, I knew the lady was from New York or Jersey. She offered to send a gift t-shirt and kept asking me about sports and I just kept talking until she brought up that they were sending out a skid of a bunch of cleaning supplies and even priced it all out, and by the pricing alone I knew it was nothing I wanted. By the time she was mentioning something about needing a PO#, I hung up. I hope I don't receive any shipments. I'm going to be checking every time a truck shows up to refuse anything.
I didn't catch the name of the company and didnt have a callerID on the phone I answered so I was lucky to find this site. I only hope someone else will find this too.
Thank you all for the warnings.
Once more, anyone who gets a call from Rubachem Systems or RCS or whatever, hang up, and DON'T GIVE OUT ANY INFO!- Caller: Rubachem Systems
- BDJBEWARE!!! They are now also using the name IPC...Same website layout..if you look at the IPCmarketing.com site and the Rubachem site..identical. If you go to the "help" link under Ipc..it is the same mailing address as Rubachem!! Total SCAM.

- anonymousThis company is definitely a scam!!! I am so glad that there is a website that comes right up when you search their names with complaints. All construction companies should definitely warn their people about receiving a call like this. They start of like they know you, talk about sports or something else thats going on currently say they going to come out there and take you to lunch, and it all just B.S. to try to sell you there extremely overpriced products that have proven to be inferior. I am glad that people are aware of these scam artists, and I don't care how long they have been open in this economy they will be closing down shortly.
- WOWI used to work for this company when I was in college. They were formerly located in Hackensack, NJ.
We would call companies, banter with the buyer as if they already knew us, offer them a free "thank you gift" for all the business they've given us, and then slip in "Oh yeah, while I have you on the phone...I'll send you...XXXX"...and it was usually something stupid for thousands of dollars.
I can't believe I actually worked for these [***].
They went by the names "Rubachem" and "General Lightsearch". - WOW| 1 replyActually...they used to be in Englewood, NJ. My mistake.
Mark Rubach, and his brother (I think?) "Jojo".
We all used fake names and everything.
Fun times! haha! - hahai used to work for this company also. the salespeople read directly from a pitch on a computer screen. we make up our names just in case legal troubles arise, we can't be held responsible. i lasted there for only 2 weeks because "i wasn't the right fit for the job." in all reality, the people who stay there for over a year are a bunch of scumbags.
- anonymousI used to work for Rubachem, and I can assure you that the entire organization is more of a scam then you could ever believe. They overprice [***] cleaning products and try to trick you into buying them by saying they will send you authentic MLB shirts, when in fact, those are even shittier than the original products they're trying to sell you. Steer far far away from this company, save yourself hours of paperwork and headaches and just head down to Lowe's and buy it yourself for half the price.
- potential victim...I had the same caller "terri andrews" call me with the SAME pitch. She wanted to talk about sports and acts like she knows your company and you do business all the time together. She wanted me to agree to something little like safety glasses or hard hats. I kept telling her we do not need anything now. She went on and on about how she wanted to meet and take me out to lunch. She wanted to send our office sports apparrel and would be sending that right away. She acted like she was checking our account information when in reality she was collecting information. Unfortunatly I agreed to a couple boxes of products since ,"we wouldnt be getting billed until she me with me" and this is a lie I am sure.
I am glad that I found this site, I have instructed our front office person to not sign for anything. Hopefully this will stop us from becoming a victim.
I called them back after I read this site and she was "unavailable" so I left a message with the operator and told them I do not want anything sent until I see pricing. We will see what happens...- Caller: Rubachem
