Just call Wells Fargo and have them set you up to have them not give your phone number to business's which have partnered with Wells Fargo.

I just got a call from this number and didn't pick it up, of course. But what is ironic AND  concerning is that YESTERDAY I registered my number on the  National Do Not Call Registry !
Hmmm, I think there is connection here.

How rude they are! I don't answer the phone and they keep calling us. From what I read here, I understand Wells Fargo sold our names and information. It makes sense because we get junk mail with information about our mortgage. How annoying these companies are!

Called by this insurance company with important information, and prompt for 1 for a later call back, 2 to enter my 10 digit number to be put on their DNC list .  Will see that worked.

I've got about 100 calls from this number (800-553-1077) during the last 2 weeks. It's been very annoying because many times it woke me up from a nice sleep. In the 1st few times, I answered the calls and it was hung up immediately.

I get at least 4 calls a day from this number.  I usually don't answer 800 number calls.  If it's someone that needs to talk to me they'll leave a message. Not only do they not leave a message but I decided to answer and find out WHY they WON'T STOP calling me...unfortunately when I answer they hang up.  We're CURRENT on the Do Not Call registry.  They're seriously driving me to distraction!

    RE:  http://www.donotcall.gov

Your registration will not expire. Telephone numbers placed on the National Do Not Call Registry will remain on it permanently due to the Do-Not-Call Improvement Act of 2007, which became law in February 2008. Read more about it at http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2008/04/dncfyi.shtm.

Also got the call from 1-800-553-1077 numerous times.  Called back and it is some insurance company.  Added my number to their Do Not Call list.  Will keep track and report them if there are any more calls, since I am also on the National Do Not Call list.

Someone earlier (Sept 2007) made the comment that they did call them back and the VM message told them to press a button on the phone to be put on their do not call list - again, if we're already registered with the Federal DO NOT CALL list why in the world is this NOT being enforced and why are these people still calling over and over and over and over.....don't they get the hint that if you have CID and you see their # and choose not to pick it up that oh my gosh, you just may NOT want to talk to them??????????????

I am so glad to hear that I am not the only one getting harassed by this company. I have been getting about 5 calls a week from this # sometimes all in one day !!! We got two yesterday and one this morning. I have ignored it mostly but I finally picked up yesterday and spoke with a woman who wanted my husband. I told her that he was at work and could I take a message. She told me no. I asked her what this was about that I was his wife. She said that she needed to talk to him only and when would he be home. I just said later. They called back last night so I made my hubby answer the phone and no one answered. He called the # back and got the "insurance message" already spoken of. He chose to be removed from their list but again like others on here we are already on the DNC list and obviously with the call today it has not gone into effect yet. I don't understand why any company would call and then not answer when the phone is picked up. What sense does that make? Also we have a loan with Wells Fargo so I wonder if they are the reason our # has been given out.

If they got your name and number from your bank they are not covered by the Do Not Call list. The Do Not Call list covers blind telemarketing. Any company you have business with and any company they choose to partner with   can call you on their behalf.

Wells Fargo is the one you really have the beef with.

They called me just now, and the boy that was making the call was stoned out of his gourd.  He changed what he was "selling" 3 times and then when I asked for his name he sat there like he couldn't remember it.  I asked him, "You don't know your own name?"  He said, "I know my name," then just sat there a while longer.  Finally he said, "Alex Starside."  Yeah RIGHT.  He could barely complete a sentence.  I asked to speak to his supervisor and he PUT THE PHONE DOWN ON A TABLE and his buddy (who sounded equally stoned) comes and picks it up to talk to me.  Randy Kuhns he says his name is, (yeah right) and they say they work for Cytel.  (Yeah right)

These is the worst bunch of scammers I've ever even heard of.  They sound like they're no older than 16.

The politicians have done it to us again. The national DNC list is a joke with so many ways around it. Even if some one has violated it and you report them, the government most likely won't investigate them because there have been more then 120,000 complaints and only 123 or so investigations resulting in prosecution of 2 companies which they were acquitted. If found guilty, the maximum penalty is only $11,000.

The biggest scam is Charitable organizations which are not included in the national DNC law. Telemarketing companies representing those charitable groups are covered by the DNC law but will only deceive you by saying they are that charitable group. Telemarketing companies get 70% of the donations as their fee. If you like to contribute to those charitable groups, my advise is to send a check to them directly and tell the telemarketer to [***].

We need to start our own telemarketing effort by calling these politicians all hours of the day & night until they change the DNC law to aggressively prosecute violators and no one can call us if we are on the DNC list! Lets shows those worthless politicians we won't allow them to pass laws for the benefit of those special interest groups and to represent the people as they swore to do! I'm tired of the smoke & mirrors legislation they pass to try to fool the citizens of this country.

So you think Al-Quada is the terrorist group we should be concerned with? Think again, it's the United States Governemnt. That is the terrorists group all American citizens should be worried about. If you don't believe me, just open your eyes and look at what is going on.
