They have called everyday this week.  I have an unlisted # and been on the national do not call list and the Texas do not call list forever.

Just got a 5 calls from this number and finally answered. Claimed were calling from Wells Fargo for my husband. When I said he wasn't here and what was it regarding they hung up.

Have been receiving calls from this number every day for several weeks.  They never leave a message.  Today, I called the number back and it was some insurance company in PA.  Press 2 to be removed from their call list.

Like Kira above, I was offered a gas voucher for a "free" trial subscription to their disability insurance.  The caller claimed to be calling on behalf of my mortgage company.  I suspect the owner of this phone number is a telemarketing agency that acts as a clearing house for many banks, loan companies, insurance companies and the like and makes calls on their behalf.  All I know is that if listing my number on the Do Not Call Registry really is working, then I'd hate to know how many calls I'd receive otherwise.

I have received 1 call from this organization.  I have IOBI from Verizon.  It is only 6 dollars per month, but I can block calls like this.  The do not call list may not apply to them if they are calling on behalf of a creditor.  They give up when Iobi blocks them too many times.

This is actually a collection agency called Allied Interstate.  They are known for their rudeness and say anything to get money out of people.  On another webpage, people have claimed that they first say they are from a national fire insurance company to make sure they have reached the home of the person they are looking for and then once verified, they call again from Allied Interstate. I refuse to do business with them even though they are a collection agency and am working with the creditor directly instead so I just ignore their calls.  All you have to do is do a search on Allied Interstate and you will read how terrible they are.

I forgot to say that they might be calling to track down family members that have something in collections or trying to get you to pay it for them.  I know because I have something in collections with them and they have called my family in a different state trying to get them to pay it.

1-800-553-1077 is very irritating. Constantly calls and hangs up on the answering machine. Calls all hours of the day and evening. Today, (11-19-07) I picked up the phone to see who it was. They asked for my spouse. When I told man (he has a foreign accent) that she was unavailable he hung up on me. He will only do this once that is for sure. If anyone has a good rpeorting hotline I wo0uld be interested in reporting to this company to the proper authorities.

I am so glad I was able to find information about 1-800-553-1077. I've been receiving calls from that number and they never leave a message, so I don't know who it is that is calling. I decided to call the number and elected to press option #2 so I could be on their "do not call list". Hopefully they will get me off their list so that I could have a peaceful holiday season!
I'm going to do some investigating on the Better Business Bureau website to inquire about reporting their annoying business practices.
