Do not talk to them on the phone, people! Do not answer numbers you don't know nd don't call them back. It is ridiculous to allow them to harass you on the phone. File a complaint with your attorney general and the consumer financial protection bureau

Once again - do not talk to them on the phone! Period. Communicate in writing only.

People- DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE IF YOU DO NOT KNOW THE NUMBER!

Do NOT talk to them on the phone and do not give them any information!

Change your number if need be to get some peace, and file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the BBB, and especially the Attorney General in your state.

Why people are answering the phone or calling these idiots back if they don't know the number calling them is beyond me. You are subjecting yourself to being harassed and upset if you answer the phone.

    Take CHARGE of the situation.

Collectors make BILLIONS of dollars a year from people who are just trying to exist, many of whom have health problems and are scraping and scrambling to survive. Scr(&^ them. Don't answer their calls, change your number if you have to. Moving to Costa Rica is a great option too and it's fabulous here! These people calling you barely have a high school education and make $8 an hour. Enjoy your $8 an hour job while I enjoy the sun, far away from you living in Costa Rica. Peace at last and NO MORE calls.

These unscrupulous collectors will actually scramble their caller ID's so it looks like a local call coming from your area code. This is a violation of the Truth in Caller ID Act of 2009. Punishable by a $10K fine. Call them out on it if this happens and document everything.

And, I agree with what is stated above - DON'T answer your phone even if you don't know the number, EVEN if it comes from a "supposedly" local area code!!

Do NOT call these people back and do not answer your phone if you don't know the number!

Now CTI Collection Technology (collectors) is calling and leaving messages pretending it is " to lower your credit card interest rate" or " you have qualified for a free home security system." I never called them back because I already KNOW that trick.

This collection agency trick is that they call you and act as if they are offering you something, then they want you to call back and give them your information " to be removed" from the list, supposedly. Then they bother you mercilessly if you give them your information. Don't give them anything and don't confirm anything. DO NOT call them back.

Report the to your State Atty General and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Trust me - even if you are NOT the person they are trying to call, they will still keep calling you and bothering you because they just want to bother someone. Take action against them.

They robocall constantly, call and hang up leaving no message, or call and leave stupid messages saying they want to lower the interest rate on my credit card or give me a free home security system. Yeah, sure. Jerks.

Report this bottom-feeder collector to the Atty General and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau immediately. Here is another game they may try to play when they call you

Acting as pretexts -  Pretexters get people’s personal information illegally, using false pretenses. A pretexter might call you and say he’s from a survey firm. He might ask you some questions to elicit basic personal information. When the pretexter has enough information, he calls your financial institution and pretends to be you or someone who is authorized to access your account. He gets more personal information from the bank so he can try to access our accounts.

These complete idiots will call you up and play games acting as if they are your bank and say there was a fraudulent transaction placed on your account and they need to verify your account information. Don't DO it - and don't talk to them at all. It's a scam so they can try to get your bank account information and deduct money from it. Report them as indicated above! BLOCK all calls except from people you know

This agency has been harassing me for 2yrs and has tried to garnish my wages when it's not even me. There is another Edson with the same name different middle name and they won't believe me. It was extremely imbarressing when my HR got the garnishment papers and questioned me. Once Ss# was verified my HR sent them a ltr telling them this isn't me but they still Harrase me.

This was CTI that called me about my student loan when I never even went to school. Extremely embarrassing when they sent wage garnishment papers to ur work when it's not even you!!! I had to explain to my work and they verified the SS# then mailed and emailed them letting them know the person they are looking for has never and is not employed there. But yet they still call and Harrase me. Going on 2yrs of this crap and they still are pestering me telling me I have a student loan to pay. The person they are looking for is on the opposite side of the state from me and has a different middle initial. So frustrating

I was refer to student loan forgiveness and I end up pay each month. Now they took my income tax  money for 2 years in the row. I should be clear by now last year they apply $4,000 and this they took anther $5,000 now I dont get a letter stated I pay them in full. I need some quick real answer like asap. I should not be any type of  default with any type of student loan. I have a quick question what is the purpose for student loan forgiveness if they are not going to approve or approval for the program at all. I barley make any money to pay off. therefore I shoud not give out any addtional money to this comany. I know they are very rude and very nasty to there clinets.
