- joanie| 1 replya quick disconnect, I don't know who called, very unusual comments about this number though.,
caller ID showed V20817133200028 - JackReacher replies to joanieNot sure what is "unusual" about them. This appears to be the well known Medicare back/knee brace scam.
- joaniePerhaps abusive fraudulent claims/purchases, and Medicare involved in one way or another. Caller identified himself as US Pharmacy and asked for Charles. I told him he had the incorrect number since no Charles resides here. He quidkly hung up. no indication by him affiliated with Medicare, yet this number 1-800-633-4227 is for Medicare, I called to make certain. Caller ID showed: V21813273500030

- Louisewe keep getting calls from this number, the caller has an accent that sound like he is from India, threes a clue right there for us that the call is a scam, and as it turns out, it is a scam caller trying to get our private information. Same too with calls at different numbers for extended car warranty. Give this a try this to stop them. When we get these types of calls, we say, thank you for your call, but before we can begin to speak with you, we need a few things from you first. We need you full name, spell it please if it is difficult to pronounce, we need their home address and home landline phone number, cell phones too if they have them. Then we ask for their S.S. number, their banking information and their credit card numbers, by this point they hang up knowing they have been discovered as the scammers that they are. The good news is that when we did this for the extended car warranty caller's, the calls have since stopped coming to us. Try it, it may work for you too. .
- Caller: They say they are from Medicare

- JonellI received three calls within a few minutes of each other from this number. I do not answer phone calls I do not recognize. they left a message two times claiming to be Medicare. Most of the message was intelligible but they said we will call you back.

- Birdie| 1 replyReceived call from 843-320-4970 on April 21, 2022 claiming to be Medicare. Wanted to discuss smart Medicare card that I would be receiving soon. Do to my lack of interest, “Frances Brown” with odd accent, told me to call Medicare at 800-633-4227 for more info. Also said she would be calling back. I won’t be taking that call.
- Caller: Claimed to be Medicare
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- JackReacher replies to BirdieWhile that is the correct number for Medicare I would certainly not trust that call from 843-320-4970 since no government agency calls you without you first calling them and asking for a call back. They would have sent a letter out to everyone.
- Love-Your-PhishersIt has become my hobby to talk with all kinds of phishers. I have received so many boiler-plate Medicare calls. Sure, I gave them my Medicare I.D.

- daveThe people calling are running a genetic testing scheme and will not take no for an answer.
They have apparently accessed doctors files in the North Carolina area thru an insider in a drug store or the medicare computer system because they have doctor and clinic names in their files.
Their own persistence is an indicator that this is a scam as no government worker would ever bother to call the same number more than twice in one day.
They will spoof other numbers and call you right back to prove their legitimacy.
The Indian or Pakistani speech patterns are a clue, but the level of enthusiasm is proof that it is not a government worker.- Caller: immuno testing company
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- John replies to tp| 1 replyThis is a valid number to report Medicare Fraud.
- B-Edwards replies to JohnWhy are you respond to a post from 2008? This is a listed number for reporting Medicare fraud, but in case you missed all the other posts, the number is frequently spoofed by scammers.
Since it is a number for reporting, it is unlikely Medicare is placing calls from this number. I would not be trusting calls from this number, esp since the callers are promoting testing and medical devices - Bright Red Flags for Scamming.
