This person calls my house in a rude and direct manner. The person doesn't state why or what the call is about or in reference to. It's quite annoying! Leave me all alone!

Just got a call from this number today, this says scam all over it, the tone is meant to scare you into thinking this is an emergency and you have to call back right away, seems like this is the new tactic by scammers.  They don't say who they are, what they are calling in regards to, what account, anything.  I won't call anyone back who won't tell me the business the call is in regards to.

This number called my husband's cell phone this morning and asked for me with no reference as to what this matter was about.  He told them no one by this name uses this phone (which is correct, I have my own) and asked how they got the number.  When they did not respond to his inquiry, he told them to stop calling his number to harass him.  Approximately 1/2 hour later they called again. As he was searching for the air horn we keep in the drawer (for just such an occasion), He asked them why they were calling because he had just asked the previous caller to stop ringing his line.  As he was explaining this the person on the other side of the line hung up!  Yeah, definitely fishing for information and harassing.  Immediately after hanging up on my husband, this same number called my line.  I, of course did not answer at this point and they left a message.  The caller identified himself in the message as Casey, and with no other information given than his extension, business hours, and phone number( ext 315, phone number same as above)said it was important that I return his call-TODAY!  No way am I calling these people back--don't give them any more info than they obviously already have!  I never return a call to numbers that do not identify themselves or state their nature of business.  After all, it always is better to be safe and check up on these strange companies before putting yourself out there.

I also get calls about a reinstatement, but the only thing I can think of is that my husband used to have a Macy's account.  He closed it out. Perhaps that is the "reinstatement"? I asked her what it was about, but she would not tell me.  She said under law, she must speak with my husband. He will not be calling her back.

I got a call from 800-670-9944 ext. 230.  The man said to call. He was rude and said it was a collection from Macy's.  I told him any communication had to be in writing to which he replied "I don't think soooo."  I hung up and a couple of second later he called again but did not say anything.  What can be done about these calls?

If you have ID caller on your phone and see it's a toll number, why even answer
it.  A legit business would have their name along with the number for ID, if you
were expecting a delivery.  I just don't answer the phone.  I did ONCE and ONCE is too many times and had to hang up on her...because she TRIED TO TELL ME WHO'S LIVING IN MY HOME....and giving me a strange name.  So much for them...I won't ever answer an 800 or any other toll number. If you don't have Id caller, but have an answering machine...wait till the message is done.  They hang up right away, and you're spared being in contact with them.  Use your judgement.

Got hold of a RUDE lady

They call constantly for my granddaughter.  I closed my Macy's account just for the pleasure ot telling Macy's to shove it and their collectors.  I have no idea if the girl owes Macy's, but I do know I wouldn't give a 19 year old a credit card or an account.

These people have been calling my cell phone for months-I never answer 800 #'s due to no business that I deal with has my cell number, I finally programed my cell to not ring when they call (have about 10 different #'s). They have left messages saying I have good new about your reinstatement, please call me back.  I looked up OMC and there is a branch of the service or something like that, I don't even pay attention to them, Hope they get good pay for phone calls because they call about 10 times a day.

The only informatioN I could get from the man is that his company's name is "Omni Credit Services" - he could not tell me any more information until I gave him my phone number. I refused to give it to him and said I would look up the company and would call back if i felt he was worthy.
Now i'm lokoing all these posts up. Do you think its fraud or should I take this seriously? I dont want my credit ruined.

I got a call from a Swizer claiming I had a settlement?  Thank you for mentioning Macy's.  I tried to negotiate with Macy's to go on a payment plan to pay back the card and they wouldn't negotiate with me except for payments that were too high for me to pay back.  I won't call them back.

They are a third-party collection agency for Macy's.  Send them a cease and desist communication letter; they are required to stop calling you once they receive it.  If they do not, complain about them to your state attorney general's office and the Better Business Bureau.

Macy's Account Holder - Thanks for the post!  It's good to know that someone else is thinking the same thing.  Yes, many years ago I held a Macy's credit card.  I can't remember if I ever had any delinquent payments with them, but I do know that I ultimately paid every penny owed them.  What's more, even though I actually called them back and explained at length that I dispute their claim of uncollected debt (~$2000), and requested a cease and desist, they continue to call.  I picked up another time and went through the entire explanation again. No matter.  Still more calls.

Here's the kicker:  When I asked about the statue of limitations, the first person I spoke with tried to tell me that these "collections agencies" often pass along their accounts to other agencies.  Each and every time this happens, another negative report is added to your credit report -- and, the seven-year statue of limitations starts over again!!  Can this be true?

I seriously doubt that this is a legitimate collections agency, anyway, since I owe Macy's no money....

I just got an automated call saying to call these people back.  The message was so general and they did not state where they were from. I know I called these people before and the first time I got into it with 2 of there people, all I was trying to do was settle something. Well not really into it but I irritated them because of their tone and manner of speaking to me.  The guy even put his own opinion in.  They were trying to bully me and they lie a lot.  I guess it was from some old account I had like 7yrs ago.  Messed up part is I TRIED to pay back the amount but that place is so disorganized it's not even funny.  They didn't know where to route me and I was on hold for a long time.  I'm not going to run up cost on a phone to pay something off. Funny part is if it was a live person then they would've got their money.  The company sent me a paper to pay them anyways so I don't know why this company is calling me.  The company I was dealing with wasn't macys.  I don't owe macy's any money either.

this must be the 4th time they have called me & left a message. my cell phone only allows my contacts to make my phone ring..Call back EXT. 317......i DO & THEY WONT GIVE thier name...

If you once owed money and it was reported on your credit report, and then after 7-years it was deleted from your credit report.....and the agencies try to contact you - DO NOT CALL THEM BACK, DO NOT WRITE THEM BACK. If you admit that you owed the money they will add the bad debt to your credit report ONCE AGAIN. Ignore their calls, shred the mail!

These people have been calling me several times a week for SIX months. They are looking for the person who had this number before me. I have had this number for over 7 years so I'm guessing this is a very old debt. I have only been present for the calls twice. Both times I have explained that I do not know this person, have no way of contacting this person etc. Today I threatened to file a complaint. She hung up on me...

I've received several calls and just decided to see who it was.  I've received calls in the past with the Collector stating the person sought gave my cell phone number as his.  I believe it doesn't hurt to let the Collector know they have the wrong number.

if it is wrong # all u have to due is just call and tell them so...but if u know u owe money to companys out there and dont return the calls thats on you... they due have the right to collect on merchandice  u got on credit or did u think it was free merchandice ...just pay your bills and you will not get any more calls....and if it is wrong # call tell them and ...the # will be remove .....i had done so and they took phone out and i dont get those clls any more.....
