This is exactly what I got!

They keep calling me. Most of the time I'm not home to answer it but yesterday the phone rang, I didnt know who pub intreast co was but I answered it. They asked me if I was over 18 and I said yes, then they hung up. I tried to call them back and all it did was ring untill I got a busy signal. Today the called again and I did not answer. I have no idea what they want just wish they would leave me alone!!!!!!!!!!

I solved the problem this way:
#1, I made a new name entry in my cell phone, called "Do Not Answer This Call"
#2, I adjusted the ring tone and vibrating of this caller ID to "OFF"
#3, I put all the anoying numbers into this one ID.
... there are around 30 number entries now, but no one is bothering me... i still can see in the caller history that they called me, though... when I want to.  Well, I do not want to.

I get an almost nightly call from this number, 801-484-1107, Pub interest Co.  I don't pick up the receiver originally, I did but they disconnected. They never leave a message.

I've been recuperating from surgery and they call many times when I'm trying to sleep. They should be reported for harassment!

This # calls 2-3 times a day.  Never leave a message

A call from this number has appeared on my caller ID. The info "Salt Lake UT" appears below the number.

Dear "Duh":

That service is not available from my cell phone provider. Who is yours?

By the way -- if *you* do not understand a poster's message, that might not indicate that the poster is the ignorant one. Had you believed that all cell phone providers have a block number feature?

I kept getting these annoying calls from Public Interest Communications.  I returned the call and got a recording asking "if I would like to be removed from their calling list.  If so leave your number".  Since they already have my number what can it hurt to leave it?  I left my number with a message to remove me immediately from their calling list.  We'll see!

I keep getting these calls on my home phone, just got one a minute ago and googled it found a site with a link to you. I have gotten the calls in the past, this one was a recorded message. The caller ID readout is
PUB INTEREST CO. Like many others receiving these calls, I too am on the Do Not Call List. Please let me know of anything I can do to stop these calls. I tried to call them back but it rings like a phone not being answered.

I have been getting annoying calls from this number looking for someone and I have no business with them what so ever. I have told them repeatedly to stop calling and take my number off their list. Can't someone stop these people?

Getting really fed up with these calls, they leave no message, just keep calling. I am on the do not call list.

these people call us everyday, several times a day - including evenings.  i would like whomever is using this outfit for fundraising to think twice before re-upping their contract.  their phone number, when looked up through "reverse look-up" is unpublished or unavailable.  stealth behavior is not respected, nor is it welcome in our home.

None.  Hung up when answering machine picked up.

We're going at this the wrong way! Let's try to confirm what charity they are representing. Then let's blast that charity with emails expressing our unhappiness and state that we will never ever give any amount of money to them again. That should solve this problem faster than trying to stop pub interest co.

This company claims it is a fundraiser for a childrens cancer cause. They call themselves Public Interest and call several times a day every day. I have repeatedly begged them to take me off their caller list, since I never make any pledges by phone anyway, but to no avail. It's driving me crazy and I don't know what to do!

I have been getting at least one call per day for the past few days from 801-484-1107, 1-412-622-7386, . Not sure why I should remove my phpne number from their list. I wounder how they got mine in the first place. Any ideas to stop this ?

After receiving calls daily, finally did a little research. This company has a list of nonprofits it works with. If you belong to one, have given to one, etc, that is how they obtain our numbers. For one person on here, it was a cancer hospital, for us, it's AOPA. If you can trace back who you THINK it possibly is linked to, contact THEM and express your displeasure. It worked when we contacted AOPA. We also filed a complaint on this company's website (they even have a form!) and we sent that too.

As for Do Not Call Registry, that ONLY applies to sales calls/telemarketers, unfortunately. CHARITIES do not fall under that category so you will get nowhere with complaints filed with the FTC (the regulating agency for Do Not Call.) Similarly, you will get nowhere with complaints filed with the FCC as same rules apply. Try to block the number with your phone carriers but keep in mind, not all carriers have that capability. Try to ascertain which organization may be one affiliated with you and contact THEM directly to complain. Finally, send in the form on their website to be removed from their call list.  Their website is www.pubintcom.com
