Got 2 calls from this number this weekend.  When the identifyer on my phone said it was "Mossouri"  I tried to call back.  The answer said this number is not in service.

Why would a major corporation set up a sequence like this?  Citibank???

It makes no sense and I urge all not to call back.

I've been getting calls from this number several times a day for a week now, and was immediately suspicious when they asked for personal information--verify by typing in your zip code, etc. Today when they called for the third time, I waited until I got an "agent" on the phone and then read her the riot act--"you're not Citibank you freaking liars, you're a bunch of scammers, you should be ashamed of yourself for being part of this operation, never call me again!" The lady tried to protest "Oh no, we're Citibank!" I just kept screaming at her to stop lying and to never call again. Finally she said she'd make a note to "take my number off their list."

Please. As if Citibank would ever 1) call anyone nonstop because of a late payment that doesn't exist, 2) ask for personal information on the phone, or 3) take someone's number "off their list."

DO NOT give these people any info.

No, this number is NOT legit. Sorry if you've been fooled by them but the actual Citibank has already verified this is number and these calls are not them. They sound realistic but they're really just fishing for your info. NOT LEGIT.

So glad I am not the only person who's been bugged by these people. They call upwards of 4-5 times a day about every 2 hours. Thanks for the info. I had my suspicions. I have settled with Citibank all the payment issues I had so there's no reason they should keep calling me.  Like the others have said, they speak with a thick accent and will not answer questions.  They did not even reveal who they were until it was finally extracted out of them saying they were Citibank. I have not given them account or personal info nor do intend to. This all but confirms that these slime bags are scam artists.

Never mind. It was the real Citibank that called. They called this morning and I told them I had settled my payment issues and they immediately checked their records, confirmed it, and apologized for calling me.

After checking these forums, I decided the no. was bogus, until they left a voicemail with my FULL NAME!!! telling me to call an 800 no. and enter a 6 digit code for my personal message.  OK, I'll bite (a little.) I was only asked to enter my zip code.  Then the recording said I could pay my Citicard debt of $52. by check, so as that would mean giving checking acct. info, I hung up.  I called the 800 no. on my Citicard, and learned that I missed July's $20. payment.  The rep, who was IN MISSOURI, like the 816 no., canceled the late fees, as I explained I had gone into a branch last week inquiring if I had already made July's payment, and was told by the teller that my next payment was due at the end of August (but it turns out she did not answer my question as the info on July was not available to her.)  I told the actual rep that there were many online forums about the 816 no..  She could of course do nothing about the robo calls.  I'm grateful for these forums, BUT I'm also grateful they finally left a message, and I will make my payment tomorrow.  The no. is legit, but the non-stop no-message robo calls suck.

    Sick and Tired of Citicard
This is CitiCard's wonderful way of harrassing the crap out of its customers, day and night, weekdays and weekends...sometimes up to 10 calls per day.  I believe there is a law against this type of collection practice.  In my case, they have the wrong customer, yet they continue the harrassment.  Anyone want to join in a class action to stop this crap?  I believe it is unfair debt collection practices.

For the last week I've gotten weird calls from number I don't know who do not leave a message.  I've been blocking each number each day through Verizon.  Every day a new number calls me and I google the number and it turns out other people have also been getting calls and have found out its a scam.  I'm wondering if this is going to continue on forever?? I block the number and new one calls.  It's freaking me out!

It IS CITIBANK.  It's NOT a SCAM or anytng like that.  It's just their system calling.  You probably are LATE on a credit Card payment.

They called me dozens of times and when I finally checked, found out it was CITIBANK and I checked my online account I sure enough was 2 weeks LATE on a stupid credit card payment.

I was thinking they were some kind of Scammers and all along it was becasue I was late  on a payment.

I STILL never did talk to them or give them any nformation.  I just paid my bill and they STOPPED calling.

If you get a call from these people, you don't have to give out any personal information.  Just go online and check your bill you you'll see that you're probably late on a payment, LOL
