My caller ID displayed "DSS Research - 817-665-8325." I chose not to answer. After the call went to my answering machine, the caller played a 30 second clip of some very weird and crappy music.

I realize that the National Do-Not-Call Registry doesn't cover surveys or non-profit agencies. I think this is a weakness in the law, since surveys are typically for the benefit of some private entity or agency (not me or someone acting on my behalf...), and there are over 1.4 million non-profits in the U.S. - do you want them all calling...?  That said, I treat these calls the same as any other telemarketing call: I try to waste as much of their time as possible (it sounds like these folks are looking for those over 60 or 65 - bear that in mind if you want them to continue the call) and always give them completely bogus information. I signed with the NDNCR so as not to be interrupted unnecessarily by a ringing phone - anyone who violates this is fair game, and apparently the only thing the callers understand is what affects their bottom line. Punk 'em down...

Nice going.  That's exactly what I should have done.  I'll do it from now on.  (But only after they reveal what the call is about.  There's a bare chance it could be important.)

Annoying call from Paul Russum.

Got a missed call on bothe my work cell phone and my personal cell phone a out 15 minutes apart. Strange that it would be on both phones I carry especially since the phone numbers are in different area codes. Will block this number.

I got a call to day from 817-665-8325 saying they are from the Oregon health plan and to give them a call back with a reference #. Found out they are fishing for your information.

If you get a call like this go in to your Local Oregon Health Plan Office and ask to talk your case worker.
They made this sound like a great scam to getting your personal information.

Got a missed call from this number. Looked it up and says its from Fort Worth. Telemarketing service.

2 nights in a row, around the same time. I didn't answer and they leave no message.

I am on the do not call list.  This make four time that they my number.

I received a call, too, identified as a spam call. no voicemail left.

almost 9 pm when they called, DSS Research, We are on the Natl' Do not call list....a lot of good it does this is the third call today from a company like this!

Called my iPhone. Went to call details and clicked "Block caller" Done.

Received a call, on my cell phone, from this number today 7 Nov. 2015 @ 6:01PM. My phone identified it as Texas. Since I don't really know anyone from there, I did not answer and there was no message left. I decided to investigate the number through Google and found this blog. Thanks to everyone who posted information, it was very helpful. This number has now been added to my "Do Not Answer" list.

The DNC list doesn't apply to survey calls, since they are contracted by a company that you either have done or currently do business with.
If you actually paid attention when you put your number on the do not call list, or read the "how we use your information" letters from most companies, you would have already known this.
