I started receiving phone calls from the 844 number about one month ago. Extremely rude and unprofessional. I was told that there would be a subpoena if I didn't pay a "pay day loan debt". I was given the option to pay $400.00 over the phone if not, I would pay 5 times as much and go to court and possibly jail. I didn't pay, nor did I confirm my information. I demanded their LLC number and their address. Also, they claimed to represent a pay day loan company called "Financial Mesa"- it doesn't exist.

I was given some information and with that very little information I called the Consumer Protection Bureau and my states Attorney Generals Office to report consumer fraud. The Consumer Protection Bureau wasn't much help- they just sent me a brochure informing me how to protect myself. The AGO's office actually called the number and investigated and came up with this information:

-The number is an offshore number. Even if the operator says they are based in Florida, it's false. They are most likely out of Haiti.
- Never confirm your personal address/social security number. And never pay a debt over the phone, especially a pay day loan- these don't really exist.
- National Recovery Agency is real. National Recovery Associates/Association is a complete FRUAD.

If you get a call from these people, make sure to call your Attorney Generals Office. And if you accidentally paid them, make sure to report it to the COnsumer Protection Bureau!!

Claim I owe money but will not provide creditor name..  Since I do not owe anyone money I find this total harassment.  Filing a complaint with the State.

This number has been calling me non-stop and leaving voicemail.  I return the call and tell them they have the wrong number to please remove my number from their database.  They laugh and hang up!  I have reported to the Do not call registry Consumer reporting, etc.  HOPE this fixes everything.

I rec'd a call it was an automated message with a claim number, left me this number to call back.  It is a very loud call center, there is tons of noise in the background. The representative asked me to verify the social.  I said I need to know what company I am speaking to she told me First Recovery Associates from Miami, Fl.  Then she wanted to know if I am verifying the information, I said send the information in a letter, she could not even remotely pronounce the name.  I am having a hard time hearing her with all the noise.  She was very annoyed with me and hung up.  Then I find out that the same number is calling my in laws.  I nor my husband use their information for anything to anyone except our children's school for emergency contacts.

Let's all file complaints and take these people to court.  They've been calling my number multiple times a day for weeks now and I"M NOT EVEN THE PERSON THEY'RE TRYING TO REACH  (nor do I know her).

just received a call but not for me, it is for someone on my husbands side of the family who lives about 3000 miles away from me indicating they have claim information. they even gave me a claim number but did not identify who they were.

Just returned a call from this number and they said that a claim was being filed against me for a payday loan that I have never taken out. In fact I have never taken a payday loan in my life. The lady was very rude and told me that I needed to get an attorney. I told her never to contact me again or I was going to sue them for harrassment. All a scam
