- Michael SleddonThese people have been sending me texts allegedly about lottery results but charging me at premium rates that I did not endorse or give permission for. This came to light when I quiered my bill with o2 as to why I was consistently going over my allowance. Over a period of a year these probably amount to £100 plus, a situation that arose owing to 02 not using paper billing any more.
Can I report this and get anything back?
I was given a number to call by o2 (0870 0008697) where I cancelled futher texts via the automated keying system (confirmed by them in another text) and eventually spoke to the trainee on the contact desk. Left my details but have had no response. I don't want to spend more time making calls on 20p per minute plus landline calls.
Who do you take up premium rate scamming with, is it OFTEL? I've gone through the procedure of trying to speak to the originator.- Call type: Text message
- kenita furberti am disgusted that ppl could reverse charges without my consent. unbelievable! lotto by text needs to swallow these charges back for i am not interested in gambling anyway. if they proceed with charging me with unwanted messages i will contact the the necessary parties to help fight my case. no one should take advantage of the venerable.
- Margaret. Manchester| 1 replyHave been getting charged for texts from "85200" now for several months.Initially had a pay as you go phone before moving to a contract so can only say for definite that this has been going on since before X-Mas. I am being charged at £4.50 per text every Friday at 10:00hrs. This equates to at least £72 I have been conned out of. I have just texted "STOP ALL" to the number ,so don,t know if they will stop or not yet. This is a blatant con and defrauding people out of monies. They obviousley have not learnt their lesson ( getting a fine). They blatently have no regard for right or wrong and have no morals. They should be locked up. Somebody please do something about these morons.

- MariaI receive message from 85200 4-5 times in a month for 7 month ,which totally cost me around £100. I didn't realise it as my bill is usually high. When I called Vodafone who is my provider that actually told me that's my problem. I never subscribe for that! Does anybody knows how to get my money back?

- MontecelloI discovered that I had been charged £15 in February and March on my O2 mobile account, found out it was from 85200, but O2 had assured me some years ago that they had blocked all premium numbers from my account! I checked the text from them which I didn't even click on, but there is no mention of the fact that they are going to charge you £15 / mo! I certainly wouldn't have agreed to that! Now trying to get my money back!
