Received a call from this number asking if they were calling (said my full name) and asking if they were calling the direct number or main number. Then hung up.

Same thing here... someone called and knew my name already, but wanted to confirm it.  As soon as I corrected the pronunciation he hung up.  Sick of this crap.

Same thing for me, Indian accent, male. Call came from Vineland, NJ. He's probably just confirming phone numbers for a business list database.

Asked for me name, thanksed me, then hung up.

Just got a call from this number and they new my first/last name and asked if it was me.  When I called back the first time, got a magic jack message.  Second time I called back, received the operator message that my call could not be completed as dialed.  WTF!!??

Same as everyone else, my unlisted work number, man with heavy accent that new my last name, verified the spelling and then hung up.  Called number and got a message that its was an unregistered magic jack number and then called a second time and got a recording that the call could not be completed.  Reported to our corporate security

Same Indian guy, asked for my name, then hung up after affirming I was who he was looking for. I wouldn't be too surprised if that scam service MagicJack is behind this, however - they are shady all around.

Same situation as other callers: A bit rude and overbearing, Asian (Indian) accent, asks for someone by name, refuses to identify the nature of the call, gives a generic name (Ed Smith). Because of the rude way in which he spoke, I refused to state my own name unless he stated the nature of the call, so he requested that I transfer him to the person's voicemail. I did so, just to see if he would leave a message - he did not. Calling the number back is pointless, as it is a majicjack number that is apparently unassigned. Be nice to know what the heck this shmuck is up to.

They are definitely compiling/verifying a call list. I got a call from them yesterday asking for me by name. After confirming that I was the person they were asking for, they hung up. Now, they called today asking for the owner of the company, which happens to be based out of state and not at this office. After saying "no, there is nobody by that name at this company" the caller proceeded to grill me about my company, etc. at which point I hung up.

Same situation.  Indian,  loud background huddle & bustle, confirm my name and hang up. I am curious to know if anything else came from these calls. Has anyone received unwanted product or a service of any kind?

Guy called my office and asked by name for the doctor I work for. I asked who he was, he stated his name was Max Thomas. I asked who he was with, he quickly stated Citibank. I told him that my employer was a doctor, was in clinic, and doesn't speak with telemarketers. He said he'd call back and then hung up. I think they collect the names first, so then when they call back, they can ask by name and act like it's not telemarketing.

They called my office about 3 times. He kept asking if I was a [***]. How rude!

says he is with Wells Fargo in a heavy "india" accent. won't leave message and hung up on me. SCAM ALERT SCAM ALERT SCAM ALERT

Bloke rang and ask for a name not been with company for many years...after a bit of banter asked if this was a direct line???? I wonder why he wanted to know that??? I did not answer but asked again who he was... Hung up then but rang back in a few minutes... at which time I pushed it thru to voice mail...no message.. now on Block..Never did say who he was with...

The guy called my number and mentioned my name.  After I answered I'm the person he was calling for, he hang up without a single word !!!

This number calls several times a day. Always wanting to talk to some random name they make up works at my company. They swear and talk dirty. We ask them their names, why they are calling, what company they work for etc but they always lie and make up a new one each time. They also route their phone calls through different phone numbers so it can't be tracked as easily. I keep a daily record of them calling.  Sometimes they call and just hang up.

Heavily accented man called at work and asked for the owner by name. I couldn't understand him and asked who he wanted. He then spelled both names for me. When I said he was not in, he hung up. The call was from Vineland, NJ.

Same here -- except is was a woman with an American who asked me her name and then hung up.
