Here are a couple of links that will tell you all you need to know about PMC.
They are a rip off company who will try to pin unpaid debts on you (whether you actually owe them or not) Best thing to do is ignore them but if you do talk to them DO NOT ADMIT to anything. They will try to get you to accept responsibility for an outstanding debt that may not even be yours. If you do that then they can come after you. They have been phoning us on and off for a couple of years over a debt that is NOT ours. We do have a very common last name tho and they've obviously gotten it mixed up with someone else.

ya someone called me from this number as well,.....  and the quoted a reference number and said its a important buisness number and saif my full name

but the thing is the cell phone isn't uner my my name.......

so this has to be a scame

and the number the wanted me to call back was the same number they called me from.

it was voice automated, and requested to call the same number it called me back with the reference number........

they still keep calling us too.  Let's see them find the new number once we disconnect the present one.  No, we don't owe money and the person they call for does not live here.  We've told them but they do not believe us.  They wanted us to send proof of who we were too.  Nope, we're not doing that. It's either $150 for the lawyer to write a cease and desist letter with no guarantee of results or $0 to change our number.

It's a shame people have to make changes to their personal lives to avoid this company. Advising them they have the wrong humber doesn't work and the do not call list has more holes than cheese. At least sites like this will keep people informed.

These people are annoying, they are making up debts.  They told me that I owed TD Canada Trust money, I HAVE NEVER and would never give TD Canada Trust any kind of business, i have always hated that company.  And when i looked up the number on the net, it was a different company that they say they are.

today Mar. 09, 2009 at 12:40 I got a call from 18662268881, I did not pick up the phone since I don't answer callers whom I don't know or not on my contact list. They called before however I did not answer.

I recieved several calls from this company as well. They are a collection Agency trying to collect debts from about 8 years ago. After explaining to the obviously untrained employee that there is a statue of limitations of 6 years less a day. They became very rude and defensive. Yes they are still allowed to call regarding the debt but as they know there is really nothing they can do regarding it! They can no longer report this to your credit bureau to mess up your credit and they can't legally take you to court! All they can do is call and harass you into trying to give them money!!! An absolute waste of their time and effort!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They called for my husband and the message said that they had a great offer for him!! when I called back requesting to know the nature of their call I was told it was none of my business. I asked them to not call back and was told/Yelled at they'd continue to call until my "dead beat husband returned their call I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told No repeatedly and continued to be yelled at. Finally a supervisor by the Name of Dave Cochrane came on the phone and immediately yelled at me for wasting their time. I contacted The canadian government about this company @ 1- 800-889-9768 andwas given the OPerator/managers contactnumber 1-519-432-0075 ext 2625 Her name is Suzanne LeRoache. SHe was not available when I called a few minutes ago but I will call again. The government said to contact her and if still not able to resolve issue I can file a report with the Government. This is an extremely rude bunch of individuals. Their Proper leagal name is Active Capital Contingency Inc. They also go by Active Capital aquisitions canada Inc. and Active Capital Caoital Canada, They Have an address in London Ontari 1001-130 Dufferin Avenue East London Ontario N6A 5R2  This address was given by Manager Dave Cochrane. Other numbers related to this company are 866-903-1741 866-877-1626 and 866-226-8881 also the head office number of 519-432-0075

Anyone phoning from an 800 number is lying.  Why would I say that? Because I build call centres and 800 numbers cannot making outgoing calls!  We hack into the phone system to put that number in as a callback number.

If you knew someone was a known liar, would you willingly talk to them?  No?  Then don't answer any call that has a Caller ID of a toll free number.

BTW, it's interesting to watch the agents on their break blow off steam.  This company specialized in buying stats-barred debt at cents on the dollar.  They are the equivalent of the "gas rebate" or "hydro rebate" folks that go door to door.  PMG was recently taken over by Norwegians and I hear that are really having a tough time.  In Norway they have more access to government data than in Canada and they are frustrated by Ontario's privacy laws.

Oh well, just a few cents from a cable puller who overhears things in the lunchroom.

Received a call from this number...they left a message on my voice mail saying to call them back and left a reference number...said I was a valued customer of Allied Master and asked that I call them back...i have never heard of Allied Master...i have no credit cards whatsoever and i have no unpaid debts...have no idea what they want, i'm sick of these phone calls, i am on the "do not call" list and these companies still refuse to stop calling me..is there anything that i can do to stop these calls? appararently even the do not call list does not work

They are now Aktiv Capital and they speciaize in buying up stat barred debts and annoying people until they acknowledge the debt, and then they've got them. This company is scum, formerly Portfolio Management.

Just want to add that it is ILLEGAL for them to call you on a cell phone in Ontario, as it costs you money. It is a little known law that is about to get a big boost in enforcement. Just tell them that you are logging their number to your CELL PHONE and they will stop calling.

been getting these calls every day- 5 or 6 times in an hour and I have a pay as you go c phone.  I will not pick it up because it cost  money and the only one that knows of my c phone is my IMMEDIATE family.  

I do not owe ANYONE any money,  IT IS A SCAM!!!

So I get endless calls from this number; owe no money to anyone have a stellar credit rating. They've left me a message claiming that as a current customer of theirs they have an outstanding offer to help me in this tough economic times ... collection agency only if I have been a victim of identity theft; telemarketer perhaps???

Yes, they are one of those debt collecting sites. Companies sell off debts that are outdated or that they can not be bothered collectiing on. Other companies like aktiv kapital buy these debts and your informarion for pennies on the dollar. Then they turn around and try to get you to pay up the full amount. Its not necessarily a scam, but you should know better than to give out your personal information over the phone.

Do NOT fall for their tricks to decieve you!
This company commits fraud all they will tell you that they were giving your closed account from 10yrs which is a complete lie!  When you call the one company with whom you orginally had the account with they inform you that they did NOT give this other company your account and that your account had been closed years previously and written off.  
These people are looking to scam people who dont know any better like seniors especially and try to take advatage of you by scamming you they take your money and pocket it and your equafax is never cleared!
Just ignore them!  If you never signed any aggreement with them orginally then they dont have any right to be calling you!
Also this company will call with a name for someone you dont know and then they try and get your own personal information such as can your tell me your name to verify that this is the wrong number!  Dont tell them anything because thats how it starts then they will look up your name and then call you back trying scam you for your name now!  Its all fraud!
Also if you have a unlisted number and they somehow manage to call you its because they obtained the number illegally!
