repeated calls from this number, they dont leave messags

This number keeps calling me, don't know who it is..when I answered it asked if this was my name or not?

This number called yet again. Asked for a person that doesn't reside nor use this number (that I know of). I keep telling them no such person lives here and they can't grasp that concept of 'no such person'. Kind of makes you wonder how they learned things in life if they can't listen the first dozen times *rolls eyes*.

Reporting it on here is going to do absolutely nothing.  Everyone that receives unwanted calls from telemarketers or fraudsters needs to report it here:

This is the Canadian government agency that oversees these types of calls.

I don’t owe them money, it is some other party which took over my phone because we were selling the business to this party and she asks for the phone. I closed my account, because my 3 years were off. She signed a new Contract and I give her the phone and Tel. No.
The Business deal dint go true so she left the contract and I sopost to pay for it.

I was told by an operator to press the pound key repeatedly. I did so and instantly a person cam on the phone and asked it I was who I was..and to confirm that by giving him my birth date. I told him NO> He said he was with Telus...and was contacting me regarding the serious matter of a large outstanding balance. Thing is I have NEVER dealt with Telus. This is not legitimate....NO WAY...NO HOW!

Just so everyone knows, & this will-[***] the collection agents: by Federal Law, a collection agency has the power to "Ask You to pay your bill and offer assistance in setting up a payment schedule" That is all.

1) they are never allowed to call you at your place of employment for any reason.
2) they can not, under any circumstances, harrass you into payment, by phone, mail or in person & they may not threaten you or your credit standing in any way.
3) You do not have to deal with a collection agency at any time. You are only obligated to deal with the original creditor, even if the agency has bought the account from them. You do not have to deal with them. 4) a collection agency can not put negative information on your credit file.
5) so in short... all they can do is "nicely" ask you to pay your bill. But we all know that they generally go way beyond that.

If you are having a problem with an agency, call the consumer bureau and report them and if it is a serious harassment issue, or call at your place of employment, contact the police and file charges. These are federal laws that they must follow, but most offen do not and will push it to the limit. Yes, several collectors have been fired and / or charged under these laws. Some even jailed. Their employers usually get a fine & tell the authorities they never asked the employee to do that, thus leaving the employee on their own to take the blame. True sharks in every way.
If you are having financial issues, & most people do at one point or another in their lives, call a credit counselling service in your area. They are a free service in every province and will assist you. Do not deal with collectors on your own. If you can not afford to pay, the service will understand & work with you, without any judgement toward you, and no credit bruising. The calls stop immediately.

they call every day, i have answered but when i do it is dead scilence on the phone. it is very annoying

PLEASE PEOPLE READ YOUR PROVINCIAL RIGHTS REGARDING THESE COLLECTION COMPANIES....GOOGLE PROHIBITED-COLLECTION-PRACTICES.PDF ....THEY ARE BREAKING MANY LAWS ......REPORT THEM  ASAP SO THEY Q UIT WITH THE HARRASSEMENT.....

I have been recieving calls from this number a few times for two different people...I just recently called them back and explained that they have the wrong person they told me they would take my number off their list and apologized.

I been getting calls from this number for the last week now I answered the last time and they said I owe 2462.05 on a telus bill so I called telus now the police and fraud people are taking over this so called problem

My husband and I got new phones from Telus 2 years ago on a 3 year term
I picked my new number randomly, my husband kept his old number. After some months I started to recieve phone calls from this colletions company asking for SOMEONE ELSE I told them several times the number didnt belong to those people, I dont even know who they are but I do have their names. This has been on up to today. I will call Telus and explain whats going on and also present a complaint. This is extremely annoying!

The calls started March 18 with a message from a female saying I needed to call back by March 19 by 11:17am and didn't leave any other information. The calls are only in the morning so far but there are no more messages being left. I'm glad I had the instinct to google the number before phoning it back. Thanks for posting everyone.
