Immediately smelled fishy!!! Always go online to check out "to-good-to-be-true" information received in the mail or electronically.  It's a shame what people will do in hard times, but remember people are desparate... be cautious.

Got the same letter, Cannot believe people actually send these scum people money. There must be a-lot of uninformed people out there. But like many of
you i went online to check this out, that`s how desperate i am. Glad this forum is here, Makes it easy to find scams.

RECEIVED A POST CARD IN THE MAIL ON OR ABOUT FEBRUARY 21, 2009 WITH RELEASE CODE 3006 FROM A COMPANY THAT CALLS THEMSELVES "THE G. F. INSTITUTE". WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE? THEY WANT ME TO TAKE $69.00 (WHICH I DO NOT HAVE AVAILABLE) FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT AND SEND IT TO THEM. PLEASE GET BACK TO ME AT THE FOLLOWING E-MAIL ADDRESS: JOHN.SLOBODIN@YAHOO.COM

I received my letter today (Feb. 23,2009). I also knew it was a scam..it doesn't even have a zipcode,legit website,a contact name or anything else!! & my "APPROVED" has been stamped over!!

I received a mailer in the mail also from G.F. Institute and decided to look it up.  IMPORTANT RELEASE OF GOVERNMENT FUNDS PENDING  CALL THIS NUMBER TO VERIFY YOUR INTEREST IN $25,000.00  PLEASE QUOTE RELEASE CODE ABOVE.  Thanks for the information.

No call, just the mailer. What a crock! Glad I decided to Google it first. I would be realy upset if I had wasted my time on this Crap!!

I think this is the only ID I haven't received junk mail from. The approved notice for $25K from  G. F.INST  was tantilizing.  The last 2 Free money I received were only for $10. each.  and IF I Deposited or cashed either of them, I would have signed up for some subscription that cost $99. (It says in print so tiny I had to get my 10Xpower magnifier out to read) Moral or immoral:  IF IT SEEMS TO BE TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE..... IT IS!

THANK YOU!!! I figured it was a scam that is why i looked it up.  It sure is nice to have things like this to make sure we don't make a big mistake like falling for these stupid things.  Especially when money is tight and people are doing everything they can to make it.

They are still mailing this crap out! I think that they are tring to target older people who refuse to join in to the online world where they can find out in less than 3 minutes (for those who still use dail-up) whether it is a SCAM or not.

Received G.F. letter yesterday and before responding went on line to check it out. Glad I did and thanks for making this info available.

Institute Kansas City Kansas:  Government Fund Pending- $25,000.00 ready to be released.  Deadline for response: 35 hours from receipt.  Additional details in the back: ...Funding available as grants and will never have to be repaid at any time.  Too good to be true, so I googled & found this site.  Thanks!!

Yes I received one of these mailers as well. Unfortunately you have people who are just scam artist, so please be careful.  I've been receiving these type of emails for years and it's getting worse because they think people are desparate.

I just received a mailing and immediately contacted this site.  As many have stated, you don't get something for nothing AND if they want a fee up front for this "nothing" circle file (trash) it without delay!

I received this notice in my mail today and decided to google it and I'm glad I did.  Even though I could use this free money, I opted not to follow thru by making the phone call.  Thank you for your warning.  I hope other Senior Citizens and the less fortunate people with financial difficulties will do the same as I have. I've made it a habit not to answer calls I'm not familiar with thru caller ID.  Upstate NY

I have received this mail promising to give me $25,000 grand on o3/2/09. I knew it was a scam because i receive 3 to 4 mails from these scamers every other day. They don't sem to get it that we know their scams. Well it is so frastuating to read these scamers mails. It makes you think that your privacy is under attack. Look for them, Lock them up before they turn into another Madoff.
