Received a letter 25K from GF Institute, i thought "yeah right". After checking the online a total scam. This should be reported to the U.S Homeland Security network, as a terroristic threat and abuse through mutiple uses nationwide through the federal mailing system and to protecting the U.S populace from extorting monies for there own needs or financing a threat to the U.S should be considered when the letters are posted and printed identifies the source of the individual, group or a hidden company has the financing means into manufactoring these letters.
Its bad enough the internet has tons of scammers filtering through the WWW.world wide web, and from countries as Nigeria (Africa) use (Spam/Block) user.
Sadly, the lack of educating awareness, mostly the targeted victims as the elderly, retired and having access to a computer. see www.scammers list. Not to become a victim is to pass it on through networking with friends and family, before or if any course of actions befalls is a better word to say "Scum" of the earth...thxks Janice

Just received the same piece of mail from G.F. Institute as everyone else. Knew it was a scam.  I agree with some of the other comments, Obama's people need to be notified about these types of scams.  I think it is disgusting. I would like to know how they got access to my name and address? I intend to contact my state rep - but also to notify as many policing agencies as I can. Good Luck everyone. Maybe if enough people complain, something can be done.

I received correspondence from the G.F. Institute stating I had been approved for $25,000 pending the release of government funds.  I had only 36 hours to respond.  When I looked up the phone number and the name of the institute on line, I discovered it is a scam.  Thanks for alerting me.

I also recieved a notice , I am glad I took the time to look it up . Your website was first up. IT IS A SCAM , no matter how desperately you need the money , it will cost more than the amount you think you are gonna get. I receive at least one every two days in my email , I know they are scams , and may GOD forgive me but I usually reply to them with less than kind words if you know what I mean. No one died in a war and left you 30 million in USD . Kharma is gonna be there undoing. Good luck to all of you , We are gonna need it.

got this letter too! I knew it to be a scam right off the bat! It has a stamp on the envelope that says "APPROVED", How can I be "approved" for "anything" when I did not even put in an application? You know the "Govt" they need so much paperwork, they could grow their own forest!!! Just a tip for ya'll, if you didn't apply for one, how could you be approved for one? didn't even bother calling, fed it to the shredder. that reminds me, TIP: BUY A SHREDDER IT IS WELL WORTH IT. SHRED EVERYTHING THAT HAS ANY OF YOUR INFO ON IT!!!!!!!!!

I received the mailing that says "Approved" for "$25,000.00 Grant from U.S. Government.  Very quickly I went online to verify "G.F. Institute Kansas City" which brought me to this site of "Who calls me" and read all the comments.  I'm glad I searched the web right away.

How do these people get away with these scams?  They should be prosecuted and put away for the crime of fraud through the U.S.A. mail as that's how I received mine today.  That is a Federal offense.

Like everyone else, I got the letter from GF Institute, and figured it was a scam, esp since things like this came up since i helped my father purchase something on one of those TV infomercials.I try to enroll in a lot of scholarship programs since paying for schools is getting kinda tough, so I thought it was really some kind of grant. Thanks from everyone for the heads-up.

I received this letter about this 25,000 grant that you can get from the
government and you can use it whatever way you want it, this is ridiculous
how people do this to scam people this time of hardship, so anytime you
receive this kind of offer please check before you do something so you will
    not get in trouble.

I also reieved a letter from G.F. Institute. So I went on line to check it out and here I am sumitting my comments. Too bad there are so many people out there that want to scam others. I didn't call and I won't. My theory is, if you have to pay for something that they tell you is free then it is a scam.

I got the same mail and I called, some guy answered the phone and said today was my lucky day. What he didn't know was my sister had gotten one the week before and she had already discovered it was a scam. So I got on and kept him talking long enough to pretend as if I was getting my credit card. I then said in a deeper type voice with the phone away from my mouth " I got it " Then in my normal voice that he had been hearing I said " You got the address " Then the next thing I know he hangs up!!! lol, lol, I think he might have pooped on himself?? But anyway it is for sure a scam!!

I too received the card.  I called the number, got the voice message and then spoke with a customer service rep. I went through the process of giving my name, address, credit card #, exp date and three digit #on the back of my card.  I had a question which she didn't answer so I told her I had to think about it before I gave her my okay to process the order.  Now I'm online reading what you wrote.  I'm worried now that they are going to use my information.  What should I do?
