I just answered a call from this number and it was an automated message from Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto Thanking us for our support over the past few years.

Received a call from this number. Have no idea of who it is. I am unlisted. They left no message.

it was plan canada calling to see if i got my calender, according to the voicemail left on the phone

I recently purchased a box spring & mattress from LEONS Furniture so I have blocked this number as i don't want to hear the all the specials, bad enough they have my e-mail address without the  phone ringing all day long.  My wife is at home dying from cancer and her rest is being constantly interrupted by the damn phone ringing.  A hell of a way to finish out your live being solicited by some dumb ass on the phone trying to sell you more useless [***].

Got call from this number. It is AAA insurance, called it back after they left voice mail, voice asked if I wanted to be added to their do not call list I responded yes. Message said I would not be called again.

Just called us. The caller ID said telemarketer so I answered to warn them that we wereo n the do not call list and have them take us off their calling list, but all I got was dead air.

Called again. I called back and the recording said they were Peta.

Picked up the Phone and it was Air Canada Aeroplan advertising a new promotion

Looks like the call could be related to a credit card scam (not initiated by Air Canada)

Canadians are reporting an automated telephone call scam that claims to offer between "10,000 and 100,000 reward miles" in an effort to obtain personal credit card details.

This is how the scam works: An automated telephone message encourages callers to press the number "1" to accept the prize. They are subsequently connected to a live operator who asks for credit card information and other personal details.

This is not part of an Aeroplan promotion or contest. We do not use automated telephone calls to notify winners of Aeroplan Miles.

If you receive this type of call, please do not provide any credit card information or other personal information - and report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (CAFC) at 1.888.495.8501.

If you have already received a call and mistakenly provided your credit card information, you should immediately contact your financial card issuer to cancel your credit card and report the call to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (CAFC) at 1.888.495.8501.

Received a call twice today ... the second one at 9:30 at night! Called the number back and the voicemail does not identify who called, just that they were conducting a survey. They expect calls back because it actually says they were trying to reach you for the survey but you weren't home.

Very scammy sounding. Pressed 1 to be taken off the call list but we'll see what happens.

John Morris Russell at KW Symphony. I went to one Symphony about a year ago and I get regular calls from them now. Pretty annoying.

The message left from 1-866-786-3394 was from "Terry Leon", President of Leon's Furnature Stores.   it was a marketing message.

I called back the 1-866# and got a call centre message saying "to identify which of our clients called you, please enter your 10 digits number they called.  I hung up.

I'm tired of these losers calling my cell no.  When I call back, only  a call back recording comes on to leave my phne # for a call back. The DO not call list does not work in Ontario.

I think it's a gas company.

Am in Toronto. Called twice tonight at 7:30 & 8:30 p.m. Caller ID said 'long distance". I was out so went to voice mail - no msg left.

As an FYI about the DNC list in Canada, if you are a current or previous client of some firm - like Leon's or CAA they are allowed to call you since they already have 'a relationship" with you.  You have to ask them to put you on their own DNC list otherwise they can (and will) keep calling you since it's legal for them to do so. I my case, since this number is 'shopped around" to a whack of business am just going to block it on my phone.

Junk call.  Did same as @Midtown - I just blocked them.  I have Callcentric so blocking is very easy!

It is AAA. Called me to renew my membership.

This number comes up in my caller ID on a regular basis. It often wakes us up on days off. When I called dead air. When I looked up, it said "lookup unsuccessful." Comments like this for the same number are dated in 2007. What to do now. Super annoying.
