Got a call from this number stating they were a collection agency for Ameritech and that they had sent out multiple statements to me regarding a $73 and some odd cents that was owed on my account from 2000.  Very heavy Indian accent, but said his name was Jimmy.  Lots of red flags went up, so I told him I was going to call Ameritech before I gave any other information.  He gave me an account number along with his phone number, stating he "expected" me to call back "very soon."  When I contacted AT&T (no longer Ameritech) they stated the account number was incorrect, that they have their own collection agency, and transferred me to their fraud department.  I was informed that they only had information going back to 2001 and that there was a slight chance another collection agency could have been used.  She suggested I call them back, but to give them NO INFORMATION about myself.
When I called the number back, I let them know I had contacted AT&T and they had put me through to their theft of identity department.  I then informed them that I needed to know the phone number that supposedly had a delinquent amount due.  I was put on hold for quite some time when ANOTHER individual with a strong Indian accent got on the phone and stated the person I spoke with earlier had already left for the day and that he needed to get some information from me.  He proceeded to ask for the last four of my social and I refused to give it to him, indicating I had just Googled their phone number and found hundreds of complaints of this being a scam.  He stated it wasn't and I stated I was going to contact my local authorities.
I contacted the Federal Trade Commission and now have a reference number regarding this incident.  I also contacted TransUnion in order to report possible identity theft in order to protect my credit.  Quite frankly, I can't believe it's been allowed to go on for so long without someone being caught and prosecuted.

I got two calls today from this number, one at 8:10 this morning, and one at 11:15 this afternoon. I looked up the number in google and found this thread. There is no reason for them to be calling me, and i only give my number to a select few people. I've had my number for almost 7 years. It looks like i'll have to block their calls as it seems they do not stop calling.

I had this phone number call me several times today and I finally called  backed after I had enough! The person on the other end of the phone was looking for my son. This is my work phone number and they told me that got my number from a seach engine. I flat out called them out on it and told them that was a lie!!! I also told them that if they called my phone one more time I would slap a law suit on them. the business is Allied Interstate they are a collection agency.

Its a Collection Agency, Called Allied Interstate. They were looking for my Sister-In-Law. I have Informed them at least 209 times. That she doesn't live with me. I've asked them to remove me they wont stop. As far as the lawyer has told me you are required to inform them once that they are calling the wrong number, then it becomes illegal. Wish there was a better way. Any suggestions....

I have recieved calls from this number numerous times, however, i have not tried to call back. I'm never home when they call, so i have also never answered. Now that I am reading all this, I hope to get a chance to answer when they call and give them a piece of my mind. This is absolutely sickening. Can no one control this ridiculous random phone calls anymore? This is one of several numbers I have gotten calls from.

They said they were a collection company looking for my ex-husband.  Told them sorry and they said they would put my number on a no call list but I still might continue to get calls a few more times.  Hung up.

I keep getting calls from this number on my cell phone several times a day.  I never answer the calls, because I know its someone I do not know. It is so annoying.  Everyday.   Wish these people would get a real life and a real job, and stop harrassing people.

If I don't lknow the number and/or the Caller ID, I don't answer.  If you really want to talk with me,will leave a message.  No message, no contact.  This # has been coming to my cell phone 3 to 4 times a day, all hours, for the last month or so.  Very annoying.

This number comes up at least 10 times a day! No message left and would like to know who they hell they are and what are they wanting?

Company is a debt collection agency, pursuing debts that have been charged off by original creditors. If they continue to harass you, report them to your states attorney generals office. HARASSMENT BY A COLLECTOR IS ILLEGAL, NO MATTER IF ITS VERBAL OR CONSTANT PHONE CALLS.

I have recently been receiving calls from this number, they leave no message.  How do I stop them from calling my number

I received 5 phone calls from them this morning.  When I called them back, they identified themselves as Allied Interstate.  Like others have said, it was a Middle Eastern man who was extremely hard to understand.  This is irritating and needs to be stopped!

April 25, 2011. Just got this call..this person has an Indian accent and apparently everything is a joke. This could be a prepaid phone they are using just to prank call random numbers. THIS IS A SCAM to get credit card numbers over the phone from unsuspecting persons who fall for this idiots verbal game. I am reporting this to the Attorney Generals Office!

If you go on the FCC.gov website, you can file a compliant with the Federal Communications Commision to document their harrassment.

I got four calls on my  cell today.  I  did not answer. No idea why as I have no debts  due. Does anyone have an idea as to who  or what company this is?

I get several calls a week from this number, after the first couple of times I no longer answer it. The phone company is supposede to have blocked it, not so!

I've also been called by this number for a couple of weeks now when I finally decided to check here to see what's up with it. Called the number back and it was indeed some guy with a thick Indian accent.

Be it affiliated with an illegal syndicate, a scam, or just a foreign company that doesn't know what the heck it's doing, I suggest just to do the same thing; call them back and demand that they stop calling you.

Hopefully, they won't bother me anymore.

This number has been calling my house multiple times a day for the past couple of months.  I have not answered and the person calling has never left a message.  I finally decided to check here to see if this was happening to anyone else.  I'm stunned that this has gone on for YEARS.  I think I will answer the phone tomorrow.
