I got a call from this number today and I informed the womand  she then continued to ask if i was aware of who this person was. (All she gave was a first name)I informed her again that she had the wrong number, nand she started to scream at me so I hung up on her.

i have been contacted twice in the last 2 weeks about a bill owed by a man with the same name as mine.  i recorded the call and reported the incident to the local police department.  the police say that call did not constitute harassment or a scam.  the second call probable was not harrasment either, but is getting close to it.  if she calls a third time i will report it to the police department and may file charges of harassment (or fraud?). yes, this woman is very aggressive and irritating.

Do not answer the call & do not return the call - once they have spoken to you they will be relentless. This company, Portfolio Recovery Associates, will ignore cease & desist letter and will not respond to requests that they validate the loan. If you try to talk to them by phone they are rude, insulting and uncooperative. They don't want the truth - they just want money from you even if not your debt. They call your job and home and will deliberately leave messages on the phones of co-workers.
Yes - they will sue you and the judgment will be posted to your credit report.  I speak from experience.  This is an awful company and I have been tangling with them for almost 6 years. They are liars and only out to get money from whoever they can. You can report them to the Better Business Bureau or your State Attorney General - but it does no good. For some reason this company is allowed to continue their illegal practices and no one at the state or federal level will stop them. They do all the things that we are told as consumers they cannot do, but there's no way to really enforce those laws.  I wish I was rich so I could take these jerks to court and keep them tied up for years just like they are doing to me.

Calls my work cell phone number numerous times per day. Sometimes leaves a message for ******* . There is no person at this cell phone by that name. I finally answered at 7:22pm when I told the caller she had the wrong number she made a grunting sound like Um(as in whatever). She was extremely rude, unprofessional and evasive to my questions. I asked what company was this and whom was I speaking too. She said if I was not the person what difference did it make and would not give me information. I told her because you guys are costing me money calling my work cell number several times per day all week. She Hung up on me. I called back via redial on my cell phone and got PORTIFILO RECOVERY (spelling). I explained what had just happened to whomever answered the phone and tried to find out Who called and refused to identify the company or themselves. I was put on hold for far too long and finally hung up as more of my minutes were just going to waste. Calls from 757-961-3545. 757-961-3544. 866-940-7640 and who knows how many other number. Refuses to identify. Only found out because the recording stated the companies name on the machine.

I received a call from this company asking for Roy. I asked who was calling and was given I think Michele Anderson. I asked what company she was calling for and she replied, Portfolio Associates. I then asked her to take my phone number off her list as there was no Roy here. She quickly became hostile and rudely said "And it took you that long to tell me that!" I told her I had all rights to ask who had dialed my phone. She demanded my name and I told her that was none of her business; she called me. I asked to speak with her supersvior and someone called JoLisa came on the phone and I told her she needed to talk to her employees about appropriate telephone etique.

I promptly pick up my phone (I am a comcast cable phone subscriber) and I hit *60 on my phone and that takes me to my handy call screening list and I add the number that just called me to my list of callers that I don't take calls from.  I also have turned on my Anonymous Call Rejection which is *77 for comcast phone users.  Just doing these two things has made a MASSIVE dent in the amount of these rediculous calls that I get.  Reporting them may make the government do something about these bottom feeders one day, but I am getting my own brand of peace and quiet NOW one ignored number at a time!  I do believe that all of the cable phone providers (and maybe other types of phone service not sure though, so check with whoever you get your phone service from, be it cell or land lines!) have these services bundled into your phone packages as a part of your monthly charges at no additional cost, and let me tell ya, it's worth it to take the 5 seconds it takes to add those numbers when they call, and to be honest, I think I would pay a monthly charge to keep having the call screen feature on my phone!

They never quit...call around 8:27 am and sometimes again 7:30ish in the pm.  I pick up the call and say hello...when they begin to speak, I blow my whistle as hard as I can.  They just call on another number...I don't answer 800 calls without ID, but I guess I need to change my phone number and make it "unlisted."  I am on the "Do Not Call Registry" so they are breaking the law...guess they don't abide by this. I found company name with Yahoo reverse phone number lookup.

A consumer who receives a telemarketing call despite being on the "do not call" registry will be able to file a complaint with the FTC, either online or by calling a toll-free number. Violators could be fined up to $11,000 per incident.  They have got to be stopped!! If we all take the time to report them to the FTC, maybe something will be done to fine this aggrevating, rude, and unprofessional staffed company.

I keep getting calls from this company "ha" so I bought a fax machine and connected it to my phone and now they can talk to my fax! They can't leave any messages either. The one thing more annoying that a bill collector is the noise of a fax!Take that you rat basturds!

They called and asked for my wife. I asked him right away if he was the [***] my wife ran off with. Didnt take long for him to hang up

Call from private name and unknown number. Why on earth would I answer that kind of call!! No one in this house owes anyone any money. We pay cash as we go. So leave me alone!! Understand???

Getting calls on my cell phone 4-5 times every day, no message, just hangups. Found out they use all of these numbers to call, so now they are all in my Contacts, with the ringer set to a single "beep", just so I don't accidentally pickup before they give up.

Still no message and I didn't answer. Wasting their time!

I've been getting calls from them for a 12 year old debt for 7,000. For help with tagging their calls I listing for you a bunch of numbers they have used to try and contact me. Beware as *67 does not work on them, they pay a fee for that service not to work on them when people try using it to call them.

Also, they will change their phone number every so often because they know people are blocking the numbers. Seems when you report them you are only reporting a single number not the others so this means they can call you back using another number.

Just got this call again. I still don't owe anybody any money.

Guess they found out that I filed a complaint so they upped the calls. Glad someone has enough money to pay them for their time.

They call my house but never say what the debt is for, Is there a why to find out what they are calling for and the debt? I have never gottin anything in the mail from these people, How is that? Has anyone ever been sued from these people? Is there an address I can write them to find out what is debt is they are calling for?
Any help would be appreciated thanks
