This company called everyone (and i mean EVERYONE) in my family to tell them that i had a legal complaint filed against me.  They're a collection agency.  That's gotta be illegal.

they called and left message saying "This is ivestigator saunders, if you or your lawyer don't contact us in 72 hours you will be served papers",  I don't owe anyone any money seems like scam, don't know if i'll call back, tried reverse phone # look up came up with nothing.

They called me too and said I was about to be named in a civil lawsuit against a credit card debt that was 10 years old and was dropped off

A very rude and curt individual named Theodore Portome (I think this is the name) called my mother from this number with the same bs threats stated from other folks who have commented about calls from this number. I had to listen to the message three times to ascertain the individuals name because he has a problem with the english language. I can't wait to call him back to tell him to pound sand! I'll speak very loud so he can understand. If he can't, I'll gladly tell him to go back to where he came from.

LOL Theodore Porter "Teddy" called us up asking for my husband. Said he was a "special investigator for legal action" what the hell is that? haha Is this what bill collectors have resorted to? This is illegal. My husband used to be in debt collections a long time ago, I can't wait to let him hear the message! Were gonna have fun with this one! Wait til hes the one getting harrassed....

recieved a call that concerned my wife from a very official sounding deep voiced man.  Said they were calling because i was about to get summoned to appear before (my county) court for civil complaint.  They tried this before, this is a collection agency for an old discover card debt i had 13 years ago.  I has long ago been written off and doesn't appear on my stellar credit report.  A special investigator for legal action fumbled when i questioned him, not too bright, totally transparent.  Don't worry or fall for this, I guess if 1 out of 100 fall for this and pay up then they are profitable.  I just laughed during my call back, he finally laughed too.  The power of the internet makes it easy to spot these shady characters.

Just got the same call.  Apparently he got our name from the phone book--the only place mine is spelled incorrectly.  Scam, I believe, not an agency.  They would have my name right.

Called for my husband. When I called back Teddy Porter asked about my ex-husband of 27 years. How the hell did he connect my present husband and me to my ex???

called my SNL's mom in Cal I am in Tx.  I have filed a report with the FTC because this violates some law.  you can read on the website.  this time when they contacted someone they said it is about a car accident.  come on you know when you have been in a car accident and the insurance company contacts you by letter.  I think this is the same group that has contacted my husband's mom and my sister's MNL.  they won't give up.  I tried to get a mailing address but they wouldn't give me one because they don't want to receive the cease communication letter and verification of the debt.  

if they recieve more complaints from everyone they will look into it.  I am thinking no one else has filed.

They called my daughter and told her they were trying to serve papers on my husband.   We have no current past due bills.  Must be 1998 bad debt.  Hope the government gets them.

Who the hell do these people think they are?! I'm furious right now.

They called my mother who does not live with my brother is a 2500 miles away.  They said that the is a pending legal lawsuit against him and that they ahve been investigating it for a couple of months. They said that they have been trying to contact him, and if he doesn't contact them immediately, they will take further action.  They also said that he could have his lawyer contact them.  The person's name was Nicholas Moral. When I asked what the name of the company, he said Office of Legal Action. When I inquired about where is the company because I had never heard of it before, he hung up.  It is either a SCAM, or they are trying to recapture money from debts that have been previously discharged or off your credit report.   DONT FALL FOR IT!!!!!

Received a call from them today trying to collect on something.  Wouldn't give me any information about the debt other than it was originally owned by Citibank.  No amount, no account numbers, nothing. They like to use the threat of civil litigation in county court the scare people into compliance.  I told them to send me all of the legal documentation stating that 1) the debt is valid and 2) that they had legal authority to try and collect on this debt.  I was transferred to a "director" named Victor who started going off on me about questioning the integrity of their company and then basically hung up on me with the threat of "you'll see all the paperwork when you get your summons for court."

Jokers.  Don't deal with them.  I am going to find an address and send them an official letter of debt validation and see what happens.  Anyone have an address?

They just left a message for my fiance - "Special Investigator Johnson" calling about a possible civil complaint.  They also called his sister (lives quite a ways away (different last name) and his grandmother!  His grandmother told him to f-off!  LOL.  Anyway, "special investigator" said that this is the last step before court action.  Good, can't wait.  Old zombie debt maybe that is SOL.  He ended the call with "good luck."

This number called my mother to say that a civil suit had been filed against me. I have lived in the same home with my spouse for nearly 20 years and there was no record of them trying to call my home phone. They even gave my mother a claim number. When I returned the call they apologized and said it was the wrong person since I have a common name (mistaken identity). They then said they would remove my name from their list????

I would like to find the jackas* who called me from "legal action" - Theodore Porter. Him & the "arbitration" dept played 'good cop, bad cop' then sent me on to the billing dept to set up an automatic draft to avoid having charges filed in my home county. I fumed about this for an hour or so & then googled the number they called me from & found them out. I'm glad I only authorized a $25 per month draft to get them off the phone. I've called my bank & started the process to stop the draft due to illegal debt collection actions by these pieces of shi*. Call me again Theodore Porter, I dare you.

Same thing happened to my parents they called my sister, and when my mom called they where giving an address that she had lived at 30 years ago, they couldn't even give her the address that she lived at in 98 when the debt supposedly occured! I was at my moms told her to refuse to give them any information and ask them for name of credit card company and an address, the man became angry and said whomever is given you informatin in the background can come to court with you and hung up. I told my mom that I believe this is a scam and I am reporting them to FTC and any other agency I can find.

How do these folks get your family address. I say we all set up a rally and go to their building and hang them by their boxers and panties. Spray paint "illegal investigator" on their bodies to let them see how humiliation and being a pain in the rear really feels.
