This caller called my ENTIRE family last night claiming to be looking for my husband since he was supposedly involved in a civil case that the callers firm was looking into.  My husband called and they demanded a payment of 5,000.00 or they said we would be sued.  I dont know how they got all of my family members phone numbers since some are new and unlisted!!  These people need to be stopped!!  When I looked up the number there were hundreds of complaints about this group all with the same story!!!

Called for my wife said she was in a civil case.needs to call asap.he would not tell me what it was for.i look up the number by google,and got the response letters . some one needs to put this people in jail.

Called my dads house asking for my sister-in-law. Had her married name and my madien name. Said same thing about a legal action, and i was next of kin. Dad told them didnt know what or who they were talking about. When i returned call couldnt tell me anything would have to have the Investigater call me back, i hung up. When sister in law called only gave thwm her first name and case # they had given and they couldnt find her, and kept asking for her last name. She would not give it to them and finally hung up. Sounds like a scam to me!!!

Had a call asking me if I knew a person.  Said our number was listed as an emergency contact.  When I said I don't know him, he said sorry for the inconvenience.

yea... i got calls from them too and ignored them because i thought that thiswas just a bad attempt at collecting you know - they had been calling me for almost a year and then the vms stopped. im thinking llike og od thank you they moved on or watever.....2months ago i actually get served a summons at work!!! im like youve got to be kidding me.... lets just say im not going to enjoy my paychecks

Investigator Jacobs called and threatened legal action if "Daisy" doesn't contact his office...... There is NO "Daisy" at this number.  I don't have any outstanding bills and consider his call to the contrary poor detective work or just plain harassment!

Rcv'd a call from my mother (who resides in La.) stating that someone was trying to reach Cooper. Now, Cooper and I only live together. So, it puzzled me when they called my mom.  She gave me an "investigators" name (Robert), phone #, and a case#.  She said that they advised her that she was used as a contact for Cooper. And, that a Civil complaint was being filed in Cobb County against Cooper. I immediately called the number. And, "Investigator Noel Lucas" answered by asking me for my case". When I gave the #, she immediately responded by advising me that I was not the person that she needed to speak with. I then advised her that I was calling to have my mother's number removed. She asked for the last 4 digits of the phone #. Then, she asked me to confirm my mother's last name (which she stated correctly). I then asked her why was she contacting my mother because Cooper had no legal connection to my mother. She stated that she would remove the number. But, her records stated that my mother was a "relative" of Cooper. Still thinking this was somewhat legitimate, I stated that Cooper and I lived together. She then asked me for a current reach number for Cooper. Since I was not walking into the door of my home, I advised that he was available to speak now. When i gave him the phone, he confirmed that he was Cooper. Since I initiated the call, she had no way of proving that he was Cooper. She just knew she was talking to a male. She then stated that a civil complaint was being filed on behalf of Chase Manhattan Bank. He stated that he had not used that account in 20 yrs. She then asked him to confirm an address. At that point, he hung up. Cooper works for Bank of America via MBNA. And, he knew that the statue of limitations had expired.

To sum it up, me and my mother did not feel that these reps were rude or aggressive. We did feel that they had entirely too much information on us, since Cooper and I only live together. I guess my mother and I were "guilty by association". Funny thing, I only ran across these blogs by trying to get an address for this phone #.  I appreciate all of the resourcful info from sites like whocallsme, 800notes, and checkwiki.  Keep up the GREAT work .....

I will make a complaint only if we receive more calls.

ok, so i called these people back after they called me at home and an out of town relative.  First I asked for their company name, they told me Legal Action Recovery and one woman told me they were out of Marietta, GA.  Then the receptionist hung up on me after asking for a website to verify who I was talking, which makes me think TOTAL SCAM.  The receiptionist didn't want to give me any info unless I gave her my "case #".  Then I finally got transferred to some guy named Mitch.  I said, well, so far every time I ask for either a last name or any kind of company info I am disappointed because no one wants to tell me anything.  He said well ma'am, I don't know who I'm talking to (making it seem like they're afraid of their callers).  Anyhow, then he started yelling at me and talking over me and I said well, then I guess you don't want my case no.  Sorry, bye bye.

this is a collection agency....and a very low class agency...they gave out information to me that they should have not....they can be sued....if they call me again.....i will call the federal agency that protects people from these low life collection agencies like this one....i told then to take me off the list....the collector said okay...this collector also called someone else i know about the same person......the collector was nice.....but gave me too much information...they are not following the laws and rules of collection agencies......that's it!

AFTER I READ THE FAIR DEBT COLLECTIONS ACT, I CHANGED IT. I AM TOTALLY DISALBED AND THEY CAN'T ATTACH DISABITLY AND SSI OR SS CHECKS. THEIR ADDRESS IS ON THEIR WEB SIT. BUT FIRST EVERYTIME I ASKED A QUESTION THEY PASSED ME ON TO SOMEONE ELSE. I ASKED WHAT TYPE OF INVESTAGATORS THEY ARE GOT NO ANSWER, ASKED WHAT THE c/o SBS MENT AFTER LEGAL ACTION RECOVERY, SAID IT WASN'T NONE OF MY BUSINESS AND IT WENT ON AND ON.I HAVEN'T HEARD BACK SINCE I CHANGED MY CARD AND NUMBERS THEY ARE LOOSERS. FAIR THEY ARE NOT INVESTAGATORS THEY MOST LIKELY GET A NAME AND PAY $50 A YEAR SO THEY CAN LOOK UP PEOPLE TO HAR "ASS" IF ANYBODY GOES TO COURT WE SHOULD ALL GO TOGETHER THAT SHOULD PUT THEM IN THEIR PLACE...............PEACE

They called my house claiming they were trying to get ahold of a relative of mine but I have no relative with the name they left. Said the relative was being investigated and taken to court and the matter was urgent.  Sounded fishy to me because they gave two different names: Bailey and Daly.  Also they didn't leave their name to call back so I looked it up.  Glad to see from these post that my gut instinct not to call was right.

Someone calling themself Mark Jacobs phoned me and asked for my father. My father has not lived with us since last year so I asked what it was regarding, as I would have been willing to pass the message on obviously. Mark got very aggressive, claimed to have knowledge that my father lived at this address and threatened to send a bailiff to investigate the property if I did not comply. I assumed this was regarding a legal matter so asked what it was about. Mark would not tell me, kept on insisting that I was lying to him and got very loud and rude. I told him I would not speak with him unless he spoke in a calm manner and when he persisted to shout, I hung up. He has called back but I have not answered.

I have since contacted my father and he claims, and I believe him, to have absolutely no idea why they were asking after him. I also found out that they have contacted my sister and her daughter, asking the same things as they asked me. This will not be tolerated and I will be reporting them to the nearest authoritorial figure I can find. Scams will not be answered so anyone reading this that is related to this incident, don't bother calling again.

***W A R N I N G*** The samething happened to me this afternoon.  The caller left a message for a close family member.  The caller first said that she was Investigator Rebecca Davis from the Office of Legal Actions, contacting the person regarding a civil complaint as well as being pealized by that person's  county.  Secondly, the caller said that she needs to speek with the person or that person's attorney immediatly and failure to do so will result in a summons that will be served at the person's residence or place of employment.  Lastly, the caller gave instructions to call (877)209-5454 and to ref. a specific affidavit case#.

I got an email from my dad, telling me that they had a call from this number about me. Supposedly I was to appear at the Vermilion Co IL Courthouse on the 21st. I haven't lived in the US for over 3 years! When I googled the number dad gave me from their caller id, this page came up. I forwarded the page url to my dad.
