I work for wells fargo in the overdraft dept actually and it is not a scam. If you have never banked with us or wachovia then all you have to do is simply stat wrong number and we will remove your number off the persons acct. We don't search for phone numbers, we get them from customers saying they are theirs. You are more than welcome to call customer service 800-869-3557 (this is the number off the back of your debit card) and ask for overdraft number. It'll be either 877-647-8551 or 877-647-8552 that they give you. We ask for Acct# or SSN when answering because we are so swamped with calls all the time, we need to pull up your acct, assist you and move on to other customers who need our assistance. Yes we do work sundays as well.

They called my phone 5 times in a row...I just got the phone and told them that don't know who you are looking for and they told me to just pay my card...Um I don't have wells fargo  and well they are now reported to the FTC

you should answer. they are only calling because someone else had given them your number as a contact.  they will continue to call until they find out they have the wrong number

Just because they are bank does not give them right to call random numbers, multiple times.  They should invest that time/money to  verify customer phone numbers when they apply for the account.  If they KNOW that the data they have is so spotty, whey pay all the employees to annoy random people.  Because of this sloppyness, if this is really well fargo, I will never bank with them.  If it is not well fargo, they should have worked with authorities to take down this number and have the fraudsters prosecuted by new.  Either way, BAD bank in my mind.

If this were a legit banking call....firstly they would LEAVE A MESSAGE vaguely stating who they are and to please contact them. Not call 10x day and hang up when voicemail picks up. Additionally, II find it interesting that each web search hit for this number has someone SUPPOSEDLY that work for wells Fargo arguing and defending that number as valid.... Hmmmm what are odds that wells hired people to peruse the internet to fight their public relations issues??? I think not. SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't fall for it people

This is most definitely a scam!!  
#1  I don't have a Wells Fargo checking account, never did.  
#2  They called my bogus Google phone # I set up when I give information to questionable websites.  
#3  They never leave a voicemail message.

The people on this site saying it is Wells Fargo are obviously IN on the Scam!!

Though it may be a Wells Fargo number, there are apps you can download to make your number show differently on caller id. I wouldn't give any important information out over the phone just in case. Go into your local branch

This is just plain crazy !!! I have to wait until Monday to pay my cell phone bill . So they shut me off until then . I can't make calls nor can I receive calls . So how in the hell did 1-877-647-8552 just try to call my phone when it is temporally shut off???? They call all the time so I thought I would get a break while my phone is down . I thought " well maybe its my cell phone provider " ??--- But it is not ! These people are like [***]-roaches ---- they will still be here when earth is destroyed ! -- Are they going to still come after me when I am gone to the other side ?? ----- I just find it completely nuts that my phone just rang while its off . --- Just when I thought I've heard it all .......

Yes just received a call but I don't answer unrecognized phone numbers.  Googled it and found out it might be a scam.  They left no voice mail.. wondering how they got this number?

Just got a call from this number, said hello, they hung up. Googler the number and got this page. If is wells Fargo, I don't bank with them.

It is a real number to Wells Fargo. I went into a branch and they confirmed. I closed my account with Wells 2 weeks ago and the customer service rep did not take into account my pending items and refunded me the whole balance in my account. Therefore, I had to go in and cover those items. They took off the NSF fees due to it being his fault.

Wells Fargo call centers are in fact open on SUNDAYS and said banker is incorrect! This is not a scam! Stop over drafting and no one will call you
