- Caller: Wells Fargo
- Call type: Debt collector
- DE replies to McpearThis IS NOT A SCAM even though it smells like one. I spent 2 hrs this morning getting to the bottom of this . I have received 5 calls from this number in the last 2 days. when I called the first time they ask for your SS # and then your account #, if you don't have these then they ask for your Telephone # .My mother didn't raise any stupid childern who give out info to anyone that calls So I went thru the process of actually getting to the center the hard way NOT thru this number. I got to it thru a Wells fargo bank in Roanoak, VA thru a very helpful employee in customer service. He connected me with this checking or savings overdraft department. I spoke with a supervisor Sabrina and it seems EMMA S BROWN was using my cell number as a contact number on her account and was significantly over drawn. And yes this dept is open on Sundays they do alot of there calling then because people are home. SO for those of you like me who are continually trying to do there very small part to keep us safe this is not a scam. The banker who told you this was a scam was incorrect. when I first spoke with the customer service Rep he said the same thing then said let me check it for sure. After he checked he came back on the line and said it was not published as it is, but in order to reach it, it was listed under another number. 877-647-8552 both of these go to there over draft & fraud depts. I hope this answers any questions you may have. Wells fargo is not trying to screw you! someone else is ! using your telephone #.

- DD replies to FDIC| 1 replyThat is completely wrong. I work for Wells Fargo and I work on Sunday. If it was illigal they would not have us scheduled to work. The bank can call any number given to them on your account from 8am - 9pm Sat - Sun which is the times that the oversraft department is open. The times and dates that you gave are for colection agencies. Banks collecting on their own debts are not held to the collection agency laws. Banks have their own specific laws when it comes to collecting.

- kmmThis number is Wells Fargo trying to collect a debt. In January 2016 I filed a complaint with Consumer Financial Protection because they kept calling me several times a day trying to reach the person who had previously been assigned my phone number. I spoke to six different agents and they all swore they were correcting the information and removed my number for future calls. I received an apology and promise. Hah! What a joke! They have been calling me again trying to find the same person 14 months later. I've filed yet another complaint. No wonder Wells Fargo has such a bad reputation - they don't know what they're doing!
- Caller: Wells Fargo

- Dorothy replies to MichelleThat number has been hacked into. I do not now have nor ever had an account with WF. They call all day even Sundays.
- Delaware guy replies to McpearGot the exact same call today.
- BrianTo you idiots saying it is Wells Fargo just go back to your little bubble. I don't have and never have had a Wells Fargo account but that number keeps calling me and never leaves a voice mail. If it is legit there would at least be an automated voice mail. It is now added to my blocked numbers.
- Call type: Prank
- alisonwell waiting for the bank to open to find out if I have just been scammed. i recently got laid off and haven't been thinking very well and when this number called me a couple days ago I knew it was coming because I had to overdraft my account. a couple days later I'm thinking about it and it struck me as odd that after everything they didn't push me to deposit at least something before my direct deposit hits. I am a disabled vet and all I have to support these two kids is that money now and it's a shame this world I fought for has come to this... Scammers everywhere waiting to steal everything from hard working citizens while sitting on their rump and there's nobody out there to protect us without having to pay for it. hopefully it's not a scammer and all is well but if so where to go from here?
