- KarenI just received incoming call from 877-647-8551; ignored, then called number back.
Voice mail states: Attempting to collect a debt. I disconnected the call.
If they call again I will request they remove my telephone# from their list or I will report them to Wells Fargo and the Better Business Bureau. - DarciThey keep calling my business and do not answer they just hang up.

- John replies to Joanne B.I have received 14 calls from them in three days. I have been receiving calls from this number for about a month. I did call them and a voice recording saying:
Please hang on we value your call...BLA BLA BLA
I should not have called them as all 800 numbers show your Name and phone number regardless if you block your number for that call.
I am going to report them to our Attorney Genl Office. Washington State - John replies to still wrongI know you posted last year but anyone new to this ........Seriously....this is a scam. No bank robo calls
I called the number and got a recording saying someone will be with your shortly or something to that effect but no one ever picked up after about 90 seconds I hung up.
Several people say this is wells fargo......or the caller claims to be from them or recording....it seems some of us had different experience. I think they are fishing and like a idiot I called the number and they now have my name and phone number. All 800 numbers see your name and number even if you block your number.
Because they pay for the call. I don't know if 877 falls into the toll free area if it does they can see your name and number. I have blocked there number but it still comes through. Time to file a complaint. And also ask my carrier to help me as this happened a few years back with another number and they were able to contact the people and told them to stop calling. They did...hope it works now. 14 calls in three days. - anonymous replies to EmployeeDo not call my number anymore.
- MelJust got a call and really appreciated it. The caller was very friendly and informed me that my balance was too low. I checked it online and found out that someone used my account without my permission. If you do not have a bank account with Wells Fargo then just let them know that they have the wrong number. If you do have an account with them then better answer your phone!
- Caller: Wells Fargo
- Fraud SquadPart of a fraud campaign targeting numerous financial institutions. Note the pattern of shill postings all claiming the number is real - an obvious giveaway.
The large number of phony posts claiming the call is real come from some con artists spamming the site to try to fool people. There is a similar pattern to other fake calls claiming to be from Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, US Bank, Wells Fargo, RBC, PayPal, etc. all with the same shill postings:

- Ashely| 2 repliesAsked for social said my account was fine and they would remove my number called wellsfargo bc it seemed sketchy they said its a scam
- Caller: Wellsfargo
- Call type: Debt collector
- martin8776478551 most call Sunday, scam
- YOUR KIDDING!! replies to AshelyNow they have your social security number lmao
- falennon replies to AshelyI bank with Wells Fargo and receive calls from this number intermittently--my account is not overdrawn, so claims it's from their overdraft dept. are not legit. Not to mention, any legit call from a bank will leave a robo-message indicating they are trying to get in touch with "so and so/the account holder" regarding their account and ask that the account holder call them back. Not just call and leave no message. Also, and I can say for sure with Wells Fargo, they never ask for your full SSN to confirm your identity. Anyone asking for a full SSN (for any accounts you have) to confirm you are who you say you are, is someone you should hang up on.
- DarcyNOT a scam. They are looking for my former boss for debt collection. I was an accountant with that company 4 years ago, back in the day had added my phone number to the company's account for verification purposes only. I guess he is not doing very well after I left. Should have my phone number removed when I was leaving...

- RavynI had received an email update a few days ago from Wells Fargo stating that they were sending me a new card and to go into my local branch due to unusual activity on my account. I received this call today and all they could tell me was my name, phone number, and address the phone is listed to (easy to find when you Google a number btw). I told him that my address had changed and gave him a bogus one for security sake. When I asked about the new card being sent, he "transferred" me to an "account specialist" who immediately asked for my SS number (which I declined to do). He them asked for my account number (which I also declined to give him). I told him I do not give that info to people who call me... period. I told him if HE can read it back to ME, then I will verify. He told me "I don't have that information." I asked him if I'm having a new card sent to me, can I still use the old one until it arrives. He told me "I don't know." Really? He didn't know the answer to that? My account is a business account, so it's got a few additional safeguards... one of which is the written information that Wells Fargo will ONLY contact you by US mail, or the email address provided when opening the account, and that they do not contact you by phone. This guy was even trying to get my username and password out of me!
*** For the record, I was actually pulling up to my bank as this call happened, and I do have an overdraft from an unauthorized charge. Wells Fargo has taken the number that called me and the branch manager is investigating it. I (and the WF Branch Manager) suspect these people are calling because they had something to do with the overdraft, and are calling because they couldn't get any money from the account. They were also trying to get me to "transfer funds" into my account by phone. Please be careful and wary of scammers and phishers! A business will NEVER call YOU and ask for personal information. THAT was told to me DIRECTLY by the Branch Manager. Additionally, there was no record in the bank's system of ANY phonecalls made to me by WF at ANY time- Caller: 8776478551
- R HawkinsReceived a call and happen to answer, but no answer on the other end. Now they continuously call-- day and night. It's quite disturbing.
