Got a call from the number, hung up immediately after answering

It is a SCAM, however the callers usually get paid for every call ANSWERED and the length of the call. They are also scamming their employers. They find numbers that go to voice mail and play music or do dead silence. Usual time for a voice mail is bout 1 minute so they are making money. They know which numbers pick up, hang up, answer or keep ringing and use that information. Try hanging up on them every time you call and they usually stop. However, sometimes they have people that actually are trying to pull the scam. IT IS A SCAM, THEY WANT YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION AND MAY EVEN HAVE SOME OF YOUR INFO ALREADY SUCH AS YOUR NAME!!! Sometimes they say you won a prize but usually ask you a few "Survey" questions which gives them personal information to help them steal your identity. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANYTHING! DO NOT TRUST THEM!!! 8776711851 Keeps calling 3-5 times a day. They also use different 866 and 877 numbers as well. I think it's the same people! Sometimes I don't answer, other times I hang up on them. I have already advised them that I am on the Federal Do Not Call Registry and they are violating Federal Law, to stop calling. That hasn't stopped them. They know the law is a joke and the Feds don't have the brass to enforce anything. A private citizen can be arrested for non stop calling (it's called harassment,) but these companies can keep doing it over and over and nothing can be done. This country really is going down the toilet!

This # has called me several several times I ignored it at first because I don't answer #'s I don't know unless they leave message then i call back, well after about the 1oth time I finally answered just got some heavy breathing and then hung up on, thats happened a few times until I got fed up and called back someone answered, I simply said someone just called me from this # and i got some of the ole' umm..... some heavy breathing and another hang up- didn't get another for a while until today when i finally decided to google it. Pain n my butt!!!

Called this number back, of course, with my caller ID blocked so they would not know me. The recording identified it as Sprint, offering "some great promotions". Yuck!!!! Go Away!!!!

Repeated calls. I never answer; no message is ever left.

If you call the number back, you have the option to opt out of any future promotions.  Don't know if it will actually work, but worth a shot!

I am getting called almost every afternoon .I have no idea or reason why anyone from this number would be calling me .I am getting sick of this ! I would like it to stop

just now call came on my cell. I did not answer. checked online who this is.. got this blog. They should be traced and put out of business. I plan to report to the FBI and FCI.

I called Sprint/nextel as soon as I called this number (877) 671-1851 from a land line. It is NOT SPrint or Nextel. They looked up that number and it is NOT one of thier lines. They do NOT call fo promotions unless you are on thier calling list. I have had nextel for 5 years and have NEVER once gotten a call like this. Do not answer it.

Just got a call on my cell from this number. When I answered they hung up so I don't have any other information other than to confirm this number is still exhibiting the behavior we are all reporting and complaining about. What is the deal with these people?

these idiots call me at least once a week. I am tired of it. Sprint makes enough money to train these people to speak where we Americans can understand them..

I get the same calls.  DAILY!!  It's sprint.  I never answer.  I'm sick of how sprint wants to add things onto my phone bill.  I pay enough as it is!!!
Sucks to be me.  As I stated before ... Daily calls.  I might have my phone turned off if they keep it up.

Oh by the way,  I did answer the phone call from the 877-671-1851 number.  I IS MOST CERTAINLY SPRINT.

I get a call from this number (877-671-1851) every single day, however, they don't leave a message or have a live person on the line.  Who are these people?

Hi Everyone reading this thread! I just received a call from this number as well! I said hello 3 times and got no response so I hung up the phone! I normally don't say hello that many times, but I was in a location where my phone sometimes doesn't have the greatest connection, so I gave them an extra hello! ;-) Anyways, I looked up the number on google and stopped in here to see it was sprint. I decided to call the number back and got a recording. The recording tells you that Yes it was Sprint calling and that the call was to just inform you about promotions they have running with regards to adding an additional line on your account. It then asks you to press #5 or #6. #5 is if you are interested in hearing about their promotions and #6 is for if you are not interested in ANY promotions and to remove you. Then when you hit #6, it tells you that they will not call you any more, but if you decide in the future you would like to be informed about promotions to call a number but I didn't write it down and can't remember what it was exactly but believe it was 877-sprint1 but not 100% positive so don't hold me to the number!! ;-) I just thought I would post and let everyone know what's up if you call the number back!

Sprint selling additional lines.  If you call it back, it gives you the option to let them know you are not interested without having to talk to anyone!

Call the number back, listen to the options, and select the one for "not interested in any services". I just did it, so hopefully it works. This is the second day in a row for me getting these calls and I do not want to make a habit of it. I was also informed that this may not be sprint but a scam from telemarketers. But I am not sure since I am currently on the "do not call list". But who knows how effective that is nowadays. And for the people who claim that they are bill collectors, my bill is paid 2 weeks in advance in full amount every billing cycle.

Rec'd calls from 877-671-1851 almost everyday for the past one week.  I know it's from Sprint.  They did the same thing last year.  Even though I had called back and selected the option that I was not interested, I still got calls again this year.  This time, I called Sprint Customer Service and asked them to take me off all their promotional calls and text messages.  The first time they only took me off some of the calls.  After I rec'd another call from that 877 number, I called Sprint again.  They took me off from all promotional calls and text messages.  Today I got another call from that same number.  Called Sprint the third time.  They told me I need to power off and power on my phone in order for the changes to take effect.  Hopefully that is it!
