Same. Dead air, Numerous times this week

They called me 2 x today as well as yesterday - same thing about a year ago.  It is Sears or its affiliates trying to sell us a Extended Warranty on a Garage Door opening system.  Very annoying!

I get a call from this number once or twice a day.  They never leave a message or say anything when I pick up.
It is so annoying.

Sears has a problem with their automated caller.  It is for the renewal of the warranty of a product you bought .
He apologized profusely for the problem and are investigating it.

Got a call from this number, but did not answer, instead I called back a few minutes after and it was a dead line, but on my phone display it read "timer"... so I hung up right away.

I think we should start telling them to do a search for this number on the internet and SEE what WE think of this crap. Maybe that would smarten them up some.

I believe 877-889-2024 is from a call centre company acting on behalf of Sears Canada. Likely the reason no one is on the line is possibly autodial. In order to get full work out of employees/operators, several numbers are being called and the next available operator picks up as able. My solution. If you have call display, call back the number, stay on the line until someone finally answers then ask who they are and what they want. Based on your discussion with them, if wish ask to have your name removed from their calling list.

Hi all, I normally get this number on a daily basis and it is "dead air".. but today someone actually came on line ... it's a rep from Sears trying to sell maintenance insurance.  FYI

Here's how to solve this problem. Answer the call and hope there is a human on the line. If so... INSIST to be put on their DO NOT CALL LIST. You likely will have to be specific - give them your phone number again and say you do not want calls about any promotions, specials, extension of extended warranties, no offers for warranties, no charge cards, etc. I had to do this with Telus as I was getting 3-4 calls a week. I had to go through every instance to call as the person asked if they could call about any promotions - no, and went through the above list and I had to be specific and say no to each. I said to only call me if there was a problem with my account and nothing else. The calls have stopped - Yippee! I do believe this number is for Sears ... they are next on my list to have Do Not Call. Good luck.

******** FINALLY            I MANAGED TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THIS NUMBER IS AND WHO'S BEEN CALLING. IT'S SEARS CANADA MAINTENANCE AGREEMETN DEPARTMENT CALLING FOR RENEWAL OF APPLIANCES I BOUGHT.  

I called 1 800 361 6665 (main Sears Number) and asked if they knew about a 877 889 2024 problem. The agent said 'yes' it's a technical glitch and once the person picks up the phone, 'dead air' begins and the original caller can not hear the person and vis versa.

I simply asked that my number be removed from any renewal calls from 877 889 2024. and just mail out the info. (I know this is legit because I called Sears direct and the confirm the glitch. The 877# is just a reminder/courtesy call that the service agreement is about to expiry.

Hope this helps anyone else experience the annoying 'dead air' from Sears.

I had the same thing. Just call it back (1-877-889-2024) and ask them to remove your number from their list. The lady was very nice, and it's better than just ignoring the 2-3 calls each day.
