Any idea who these calls are from??  Any way to block them?

It is extremely annoying to receive telemarketing scams.  I have a panasonic digital phone system with 4 phones.  It allows me to save numbers into a phonebook or to BLOCK numbers. My policy is to block any of these type of numbers, especially if they do not have a name displayed.  Once blocked, my phone rings once then says "call blocked".  I already have 19 different numbers blocked.  I think they switch numbers to try and get around blocking calls.  Some of the legit organizations, like the Canadian Diabetes Society, are getting blocked because they don't show their name.  I have suggested to them that if their name was displayed, then I could make a choice about answering the call.  They indicated they would refer it to their IT department.  It is all a hugh pain in the neck.  The telephone companies need to take a proactive role in annoying telemarketing and telescamming.

this number 1 877 889 2024 has called me three! times today and once a day for the last 3 weeks! I'm in Canada and my cell phone company will not block this number. Any suggestions?

You're information was bang on. I called sears and they told me they will remove my name from the auto service call. Thanks Tony for your help.

Just got a call, 8:50pm. Said they were from Sears about a warranty, but my wife never had a Sears card and we haven't bought anything large enough for a warranty anyways.  Most likely a SCAM !!

I had the same phone call and I'M sure it's from Sears, reading your answers, cuz I just bought a tractor from them, a couple of days ago.  But what surprise me, when I did pick the phone, a song was playing ''l'Important c'est la rose'' who was a song of Fernand Gignac...I thought it was a prank first from one of my friends but the phone number is 8778892024...

I live in Saskatchewan and I just started getting this number this weekend.  The name on my call display shows as 201??  I called back the first time I got this call and it just gave me a busy signal.  Tonight I called back and it said that it was SEARS Protection Services.  I don't have a SEARS card and the last thing I bought there was a lawn mower about three years ago.  I'm pretty sure that it is a scam and I'm going to try and call back and have them take me off of their list.  Annoying!

Each and every day I get one or more phone calls from this number. I never answer it, but it is getting very annoying. I wonder what the point is.

it is sears maintance protection plan. if you wish for th calls to stop pls call sears and ask for parts and service and then ma department.

For me at least it's Sears Canada. I can't say why it's dead air when they call but I know I have a package at their depot that I need to go pick up. Mystery solved on my end at least.

I received a call from them today, my common-law answered the call today. there was someone on the other end specifically asking to speak to me, however, they could not pronounce my last name correctly so in return my common-law said you have the wrong number, there is no one here by that name.  They are sooo stupid, then they just said "Okay,bye".

I then googled the phone number and came accross all of these postings. thanks for the tips peeps now i know its not anyone important calling....hahahahaha

This number keeps calling our house at least 3 times a day.  It is getting to be annoying.  Please STOP!!

Calls my business line serval times a week, I never answer and there is never a voice mail.
