Same issue - I've been receiving calls from 1-877-889-2024 at least once per day for the past week or two, and nobody responds on the other end. I read Judy's post regarding "10 seconds before it is passed to an operator on their end", but I've tried waiting silently on the line, and speaking on the line, and it still hangs up eventually.

I called Sears today at 1-888-473-2772 and spoke to a Customer Service rep named Linda. She removed me from all Sears calling lists. I then asked her to help ensure Sears would correct this glitch in their system; I explained that even if the purpose is to auto-dial customers who have an upcoming warranty expiration, the line should immediately have an automated message or live attendant rather than just silence. Linda put me on hold, then returned and let me know that Sears is going to look into this.

I asked for Linda's Customer Service rep ID, but she indicated that they don't have those. I asked for a ticket number to track my request for Sears to fix this issue, but she indicated there's no referenceable ticket number for it. I asked how I could check back on the status of the resolution, and there didn't seem to be any way to do so, other than to call back in the future, state my home phone number so they can open up my file, and see if anyone has followed up on the note that Linda put in my file.

So it seems that for now - after more than 4 years of this issue being reported on the web - the only solution is still to call Sears (e.g. at 1-888-473-2772) and request to be removed from all their caller lists. Pretty sad that such a large company is so ill-equipped to solve a relatively simple technical issue, and also sad that their Customer Support organization doesn't have any form of tracking capability for customers.

Update: I also sent feedback through the Sears website (https://secure.sears.ca/customer-support). Hopefully the message will start to get through to them to fix the underlying issue.

Tired of these stupid calls replies to Graham
I called this number 4 times in the last month to get my number removed and they keep calling  4-5 times a day everyday even on weekends. I just called once more a minute ago,  to get my number removed AGAIN. I asked the personnal number of the "associate" to see how she would like to get 5 calls a day every day at her home.Funny, she didn't wat to give me her home number, not even her name! Not even her bosses name. !
I said " you have my home personnal number and you're calling me 5 times a day why can,t I call you?"
God it's a PERSONNAL NUMBER ! do you know what personnal means?
So now I'm never ever going to buy at Sears  again . NEVER!  And I'm really sorry for the next caller  who calls me from this number ..

Update: I contacted Sears Customer support by email and got the following reply:

"We are in receipt of your request to cease all telephone solicitation from Sears.
We appreciate your concern and request that you contact our Customer Advocacy Department at 1-866-491-2247.  The hours for the Customer Advocacy department are Monday - Saturday 8:00am - midnight and Sunday 10:00am - 8:00pm (EST). Please note that we are unable to forward your request to cease Sears solicitation to our Customer Advocacy department as due to the privacy policy our Customer Advocacy associate must speak to you directly."

The calls continued to come in. I called the number above and was told that I was now off of the call list.

The caller identify himself as from Sears and try to sell me extended warranty for an appliance that I purchased recently.  All information he provides is valid.  But I have a feeling that this guy is not directly from Sears.  The call has background noise and is not in an office environment.  He may be some kind of telemarketer somehow got ahold of your purchase history.

Seems that it is from Sears according to other blogs:

    https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-877-889-2024/2

Someone said they called their head office at this number, 1-800-361-6665, and complained, said the remove from list.

I get calls from this # 1-2 times a day over the past month. Never answer as I don't rec. the # and reverse lookup leads no where. Also, who ever it is never leaves a message. I encourage everyone to check their statements for charges if they answer calls from this #. If you are charged, reqister a complaint with the CRTC and Industry Canada 'consumers protection/ fraud'.

I also purchased appliances from Sears and within weeks was receiving calls from 877-889-2024 and then later from 866-312-9648. The 877 number is a computer I think to determine when you are home to answer. Then the 866 number is a sale rep from GEMA COMMUNICATIONS who are selling extended warranties for SEARS. Essentially Sears are subbing out their warranties. I've had 52 calls in the past month.

I cut up my Sears card and mailed it to them stating I would never buy Sears again. I sense they don't care and tell me the calls will continue for about another month. Gema's response has been to redouble their efforts to harass me 5 times a day. My best suggestion - cut up your Sears cards
