3 times a day, for the past few weeks. Very annoying- how can we make it go away ????

Was getting a lot of "scam" calls before the provincial election but now it's done and I am still getting calls from 8778892024....is there some way of blocking phone numbers similar to blocking people on facebook?

finally, 4 days ago, someone on the other end of the line, Ahmed was selling extended warranties on appliances from Sears. I asked him to kindly remove my name from their automated calling system, he promised he would....yesterday the saga started all over again - have to call Sears again !

Confirmed it's Sears or a Sears Partner based on detailed info, according to other users their from Quebec.

If they don't remove your phone number or you feel they are harassing you:

-OPTION 1: Call Sears or their partner:
1-800-361-6665 , 1-866-491-2247 , 1-800-549-4505 or the canadian line 1-866-491-2247.

-OPTION 2: File a CRTC Canada  or FCC (fcc.gov / crtc.gc.ca) complaint under contact us.
-OPTION 3: File a complaint at bbb.org or file a complaint with consumer law.
-OPTION 4: File a police report, last resort.
-OPTION 5: Call blocking, last resort.

This number is probably toll-free.  Below are generalized tips for people.

Tips:
-STEP 1: Get a long distance provider like Tel 3 Advantage or Yak, some numbers are long distance or place a collect call.  
-STEP 2: Call the person or company.
-STEP 3: Apply the National Do Not Call for your phone number (fcc.gov / crtc.gc.ca , if needed).
-STEP 4: File a CRTC Canada or FCC (fcc.gov / crtc.gc.ca) complaint under contact us (if needed).
-STEP 5: File a police report (if needed).
-STEP 6: Call blocking (if needed).

Just send the number into call reject list....

Recieved multiple dead air calls from 1-877-889-2024.  I called the number back from my location of central Ontario.  Automated answering service from Sears Canada.

18778892024 is a company that handles Sears extended warranty. When they phoned today I asked for a call back number, 1800-361-6665.

J'ai appelé la compagnie Sears pour faire enlever mon numéro sur la liste et apparemment ça va fonctionner.

I just called this number back, it is Sears, I pressed 1 to speak to a representative, and told the gentlemen to remove me off of the call list. He politely took my number and said he would have it removed! So hoping this will work!

They just called here and then hung up on me.  We are on the Do Not Call list so I called the 1-800 number above for Sears to be taken off their call list.  We were apparently called to get an extended warranty on a lawn mower that we don't even have in our possession yet.  When I called to have the calls stopped she still tried to sell me the warranty.  Let's see if the calls actually stop.

SEARS.........................  called the number back - got a recording that they will call back at another time and then they ended the call.....  lol.....  next time I will take the call!

I keep receiving calls on my business line and no one speaks when I pick it up. I called the number back and it is Sears warranty Dept asking if I want to extend my purchase warranty. I asked them to remove my number and they said they would? Also he said the reason no one has answer when I say hello is it is time released auto dialing and it takes 10 seconds before it is passed to an operator on their end. I hope this clears it up for everyone and I dont get anymore of these calls.
