this # is calling all the time. Dead air. It is so annoying

Called 18664912247 Sears advocate line as someone suggested.  I really think it is another number for the insurance company which Sears hires.  Someone mentioned the company is located in Quebec and by considience they had a thick accent sounding french to me.  They offered us a catalog the first time explaining and tried to paly dumb.  Put on hold, we hung up and called back saying we were cut off. We didn't have to explain very much this time.(maybe they felt my persistancy) Said the number was the insurance company which Sears hires to sell extended warranties.  Sounded suspiciously busy and like a calling centre in the background. Lots of commotion going on in this office.  I got them to look up our number and make sure all the names associated with it were taken off this list also.  She couldn't guarantee that they went by phone number alone.  As a courtesy to my family members who purchased itmes from Sears also I had their number removed also.  Claim it should take a week or two for them to stop calling. So I assume if you are connected to Sears in any way, credit card, purchasing, travel etc, where insurance is an option you will be contacted.  Lets hope this works. I will post in a few weeks to see how it goes

it is sears maintenace agreement people I checked with them and they in fact do have an automatic dialer that is calling anyone and everybody using the 877.889.2024  For your information they also appear to have the ability to removeany history of them dialing youfrom your call display memory, as well, any of the phone companies can easily find out that it is Sears calling you, remember that the Aliant and oall the other companies make money for everycall that is made answered or not.  If you do not believe me call Sears at 1-800-361-6665 and ask them if the number belongs to them.

This is still continuing from this *$%#@&% number!

Thanks to "tired of it all" I contacted the number he/she provided and to my "surprise", the number does originate from Sears! As I battled through a very abrupt Sears representitive, I threatened a civil action due to the number of calls I received. I was then placed on their do not call list.

I called 1-800-361-6665 and they have ref'd 1866 491 2247. They would not give me any further details. Funny thing is we can simply contact the CRTC and legally file action against Sears. Remeber to keep your phone bill at the end of the month as documentation and proof that they called.

Huge annoyance calls from this number.

1866 491 2247 and ask to be removed from their list. It is Sears calling you. Since calling yesterday, they have not called me since (knock on wood!!). I would usually receive 5 calls by this time of the day. Like i said, they are [***]. Next step is to contact the CRTC.

I just received a call from that annoying number on my cell.  I called back from a land phone and it says that the number is not available from the area I'm calling from.  I am from Ontario, Canada...weird...I put it in my cell phone and named it "Do Not Answer"...

1-877-889-2024  is Sears Canada calling about warranties for their products. I finally had a person at the other end of the phone and complained to them about the numerous unresponsive calls everyone has been receiving. I called Sears Canada and lodged a complaint, Sears say they know nothing about it.  Bell Canada has also been informed about the offending party.
My suggestion....if you get another call complain like hell to Bell and Sears. They now know

call 866-491-2247

ask to be removed from call list...

then go to the CRTC web page,

register, and summit a complaint.....

With the economy in the gutter we've got to expect more unwante solicitations.

I'm usually on the net and do a Google search of an incoming unknown number before answering it and was lead to this site.

I didn't answer and probably won't be answering ANY toll-free (ie. 866/877/888/800, etc.) or unusual (123-456-7890) numbers in the future....

Has been calling me in Saskatchewan for weeks now - usually once a day but sometimes twice.  I picked up once and it was dead air.

Just called Shaw support for digital phone:  you can BLOCK any number using their *60 service.  If you are a Shaw Digital phone subscriber anter *60 and follow the instructions.  I have blocked this number.
