I called the bank as well as Verizon Wireless Prepaid. The bank is investigating and will know more tomorrow. We are customers of Verizon Wireless and they are also working with us and the bank. The police have been informed as well and a report filed.
I received NO call from the number what so ever. - Not a Merry Christmas in Oregon replies to Not a Merry Christmas in Oregon| 1 replyUPDATE: The bank neglected to close the check card, as a result, one more transaction came through today. The bank is investing the matter, all necessary report documents have been completed including the police report. The bank did report none of the purchases were address confirmed nor security code confirmed. As a result they may fall off within two days as the bank requires such confirmations.
Verizon wireless prepaid does not even allow a life person to respond to such matter instead notifying those calling their fraud line (via recorded message) that they are not responsible and can not help them. The only assistance they DO offer is for you to report such activity to your banking institution. Verizon does require address and security code confirmation when making such purchases for their prepaid cards online (which this was an online purchsse through their site) yet the Verizon representative (the 5 I spoke to) stated these were not normal transactions according to their files and they didn't make sense. They obviously made enough sense to make to the pre-authorization phase of purchase. Verizon Wireless Prepaid has known about this problem for years yet continues to do business as usual without making the changes necessary to prevent such fraudulent activity. They do have very professional employees who go as far as they can to help, even so, what Verizon DOES offer comes across as "sucks to be you," "nothing we can do," "there are no plans to address the issue either."

- XMAS STOLEN :,,,)Went to the bank today to pull out mainey for xmas shopping for my kids (im a single mom of 4 and this was my xmas to my children). The bank informed me that my account was going to be negative because verizon was pulling a payment out of $160.00. I was immediately scarred because I had just paid my bill to verizon 3 days earlier.
Got home and started to do some researcha nd found out that it was fraud to my account!!!! Ive reproted it to my bank and filed a dispute charge but its not going to bring back xmas in time!!!! - DDI was the victim of a home invasion burglaryjust this month that included my credit cards. The thieves had about 6 hours to use the cards before they were totally cancelled and stopped. But this charge of $208.33 was made after the cards were stopped!! It amazes me that Verizon could have such an attitude of "SO WHAT!". It seems to me that they should be held just as responsible for the charge as the person using it if they don't cooperate with the police who are investigating the theft. I will never do business with them!!! And I will pass the word on to everyone I know!! Maybe a drop in customers will change their mind!
