- idahoponyI didn't get a call from this number. It showed up on a credit card statement as VZWRLSS*PREPAID OT 888-294-6804 CA. There were three unauthorized charges - $95, $65, and $100 - to my credit card, all on the same date. My credit card company caught the activity and their fraud department contacted me regarding them. The card has been canceled. Am not sure how they got my card info either. Lucky for me, my credit card has reversed the charges on my account. It would seem that Verizon needs to change their policy on these kind of purchases.

- cmob replies to christine garveyJust got hit with it myself. Of course VZ is completely happy to take the money. What a load of crap. No help in stopping it. I asked them to block the card use. They said they could not. They would just keep taking it as long as they could. Calling bank now.
- ladybug replies to Kelly Emersonso VZWRLSS-IRV definitely belongs to Verizon?
- TinaBeeThis happened to my mom in 2004 after my sister used her credit card to put minutes on her Verizon pre paid cell phone. Suddenly there were these strange charges on my mom's account all coming from Folsom, CA. A call to the card company stopped the charges and the funds were returned, but Verizon refused to acknowledge that their company dropped the ball big time. It's sad to see that they still haven't fixed this problem. They need to be sued.
- danwat1234I don't know if you guys are smoking something, but I just called Verizon and they gave me this number for their prepaid department?
Are you sure you guys aren't smoking something?- Caller: Verizon
- FernandaI just find out that they took 300.00 from my acct can someone help me with this???/
what do i need to do - snt replies to RaymondHello,
Yes it shows exactly the same thing on my bank account. please tell me what you did to take this off your banck acct. - Melissa| 1 replyI am a customer service rep in the prepaid dept for Verizon Wireless. In our training we are specifically taught to speak only with the card holder. To this day, I decline any credit card payments on accounts if the card holder and account do not match. If a charge comes through saying ecars, it was either done in store or through CONTRACT Verizon Customer Service as we do not use ecars in the prepaid department. If your charge states vzwivr, this means NO ONE spoke with this customer as they charged the card through the automated system. If you see invalid charges, call as soon as you see them and we CAN refund the charge. If you do not see the invalid charge until soon after the charge has been made to your card, we might transfer you to the fraud department, but only of it is necessary. And for the record, that 88829469804 number that calls is contract department, in prepaid,we ha be the same contact number, however the only times we are permitted to dial OUT is to troubleshoot a customer's device with them if they called us on device not knowing we need to trouble shoot from a different phone than the one they are on. I guess all i'm saying is if this number calls you, call it back. It is PROBABLY important.

- cheryl yatesi am not receiving phone calls but they have however stolen my oklahoma eppicard number and have used it to put minutes on their on star in their vehicle. this is the second time that this has happened to me. i have filed a police report, changed my card number and still they are able to hack this. this is a bunch of BS. i want it stopped......
- Caller: no call
- Prepaid rep replies to MelissaGuessing you're kinda new to prepaid then. Ecars is no longer used by prepaid, or anyone for that matter (It was replaced by a more efficient system). I'm surprised it still shows up on statements.
888-294-6804 is, specifically, prepaid
800-922-0204 is contract.
Invalid charges can be refunded sure, but only if the person knows the security info of the number the money was added to (And the number, as I'm sure you know we can't search by any of the info on the statement). Non-customers who get charged are victims of identity theft/fraud, and need to talk to the bank (Fraud also can't do anything; it's prepaid).
It sucks, but it's not a Verizon scam. Verizon isn't stealing your money. The person who stole your information is. Far as I can tell, there's no fixing this short of disallowing all payments by automated system AND online for prepaid. Something which would probably cause more problems than it would fix. - clyde e.this is [***] i dont even have a prepaid account of any sort......bank says get aholdd of verizon verizon says call bank.....cant anything b easy anymore\
