I get calls from this number several times a day. It's very annoying and aggravating. Once I answered and no one said anything. Then they call back 30 minutes to an hour later from an unknown number.

Called and would not give me any info.  Said it was about my credit report and that they were a financial company.  I have no idea what this is about.

I can identify that this is Packer Group of Companies. I've spoken with someone at their organization and requested they stop calling my cell phone. They are trying to reach someone I've never heard of.

They have been calling my 11yr olds cell phone for two weeks now, 3-4 times a day.  She doesn't answer, but they leave voicemails.  I'm not returning the call because they obviously have the wrong number.  We don't give her number to anyone except her 11 yr old friends.  No reason a collection agency should have her number.

It's a total scam. I received a call from them today and someone named John Baker(?) left a message saying that I needed to call them back to "resolve an important business matter." So, worried, I called them back. They said they were "Takhar," a collection agency. They claimed that I had an outstanding debt with BMG Music Services for $26. I paid this wayyy  back in 2005, yes, 2005. They then asked for a credit card number or checking account number to pay off the supposed "debt." ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Do they actually think I'd just give them my financial information that easily? WTF? They then said that if I didn't pay it, they would report it to the credit bureaus. OH PLEASE. In order for anyone to report anything to the credit bureaus, they must have your social security number. I never gave BMG my social security number, therefore, this supposed "debt" will never report to my credit. This scam company just uses that excuse as a way to convince you to pay them so they can steal money from you, and steal your credit card number, etc. THEN... get this.... the guy was INCREDIBLY rude and was a total jerk...haha. I told him that before I would give him any information, he would have to send me something in writing. He refused to do so. THEN... he offered to let me speak to a supervisor. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? As if a so-called "supervisor" is going to reassure me that it isn't a scam. Give me a break. I hung up before he transferred me to a supervisor. Then, they called me back from an "unknown" number, and luckily I didn't hear from them for the rest of the day. PEOPLE, DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!! DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION!!!!

i have also recieved two voicemails from John Baker from Takhar Group. When i finally called back they asked me for my telephone # and had a different name and address. I don't know what this is about, but it sounds like a bunch of BS!

A man named John Baker from Takhar group keeps calling my cell phone and saying it's urgent to call him back. I get daily calls that I am not around to answer and then receive it on voicemail the next morning when driving to work. Very annoying and had me worried that I had a problem with an account that I didn't know about (till seeing all these other complaints!) Thank you for your comments!

Yeah, we just got a call...what tipped me was "John Baker" sounds like he's from India. I wonder how many Bakers live in India? Ha...I knew I had to check it out on the internet before returning any call. I'm so tired of the scammers...good Lord, GET A LIFE! Thanks for posting your comments, everyone...ya'll just saved me a headache!
By the way, it comes in on caller ID as Unknown Name/Unknown Number...

I Got a call from someone named "Kevin" or "Calvin" Johnson from T.G.C. Credit report company for my wife, but on MY cell phone! This person was speaking with a thick accent and I could barely understand what he was saying.

I also just received a voicemail from the Takhar Group by a guy from India with the name of "John Baker".  He said he was trying to get a hold of me for a very serious business matter.

I have been getting voice mails from an Indian person by the name of John Becker from Takhar Group with the same urgent message.  When I called back, I get another Indian sounding person with English names such as John Smith or some such naome.  When I inquire as to what the issue is they tell me it is about some debt, but the can never elaborate.  The problem for them is that they keep leaving these messages on my work phone and I am the regional senior agent for the FBI!

Got a voice mail this morning from an unkonwn number.  The person identified himself as "John Baker"; guess is the same Indian guy.  How did they get this number, I don't know.  I've been working for this company for 4 months, and before that I lived very far away.  Definitely, it sounds like a scam.  If it is so important, why don't they just send a certified mail letter with all the information.  I read something here about BMG. Last year I received a letter from a "collection agency" regarding a BMG debt dating back to 2004. When I called they said I owed money for some merchandise and that it was an account from another entity that was acquired by BMG. I sent a letter asking them to submit within 15 days: proof of the goods sent; to which address; why, when and under what circumstances the acquisition occurred; and why I wasn't notified of the debt in 3 years. Of course, I never heard from them ever again.

Same call here. I found 2 identical calls from John Baker, so it's a recording. Mentioned "Takhar". Definitely a scam and annoying.

I received the same EXACT message 2 days in a row from an Indian man, hardly understandable. It is too weird to return the call, I know it isn't critical, we have access to all credit reporting agencies and never an outstanding or late bill. Plus, it is a business number with more than one person in charge...who is the call for? I am always suspicous of 888 numbers and no clear (or credible) company name. If it is real, we have had the same address for 12 years, let them  track us by mail! Thank goodness for the internet info!

This Indian cat called for my wife, wanted to speak to her and wanted her work number, said his name was Mike Austin (I was born at night, but not last night)He refused to tell me what the call was about and tried to play me for the FOOL by saying, "now you are in Pennsylvania right." I told him where I was ( a differnt state) was none of his #$^@ business and I was going to make this call the business of my State's Attorney General office. Now he's gettin' pissy and talkin' to himself. Click, hello, hello.

I keep recieving 3 to 4 messages and have done so for over a month now from an individual named John Baker. He says he needs to speek with me regarding an important bussiness matter. I have called him back many times to give him a piece of my mind. I have never yet spoke to anyone because they do not answer the phone.

I'm getting very sick of this. I have been signed up for the do not call list since it start and just renewed again. What can one do???

I just received one of these calls today from this John Baker....When I called back I told them to remove me from their list.
I wonder how long that will last...

I to have been recieving this John Baker Takar calls almost everyday. He has
a strong accent. I have called them and told them they had the wrong number, but did not give them my number. They are still calling me.

I have been receiveing these calls as well....John Baker sounds like he's Indian...THen this morning a female called.  She was American sounding and also from this Takar outfit.  I NEVER return calls to someone I don't know.  I"m glad I researched this number and saw all the other entries.  I have excellent credit and was worried I"d missed something.  I won't worry now.  Thanks for everyone's entries.
