- Lisa| 2 repliesI didn't get a call from the number. I got a call from my credit union's fraud department asking me if I recognized the charge $39.71 made on 1/4/11. I told them I didn't so they marked the charge and now I have to go to my credit union to give them a written statement so they can cancel my card and issue me a new one. This is the second time I've had to do this in less than two years. It gets really old having to do this all the time because of greedy people breaking the law. The last time I've done this my CU was really good about everything, even giving me back my money. I hope they are that good again this time.
- Lisa replies to Lisa| 1 replyI got the runaround at my bank today saying that I had to call the number listed on my statement first. Then after that I had to go back to them and do everything else. So, I called the number listed with lafincs.com 888-389-0108 and they said that they were going to cancel and refund the amount. They said that they were also going to place a block on the credit/debit number so lafincs will not be able to charge anything else to it. I also got charged $20 by my credit union for a brand new card with a new number. I wish I could charge the company that $20 but it's not going to happen.
- RUKIYA GORDONYeah I found a charge on my account for $40.11. Don't recall making any purchase with this company.? Reporting it to my bank's fraud department!!!

- quizzle replies to LisaLisa, Your Credit Union should have handled it as fraud, pure and simple. In a dispute, you are required to make an attempt to get a refund from the merchant. Lafincs.com is a complete sham: there's nothing there but a shell of a site that pretends to process credit card transactions.
There's a long list of government authorities that oversee banks and credit unions: otc.gov (office of the comptroller is one). I don't know which ones oversee credit unions but I would file a complaint with as many as possible about the $20.00 new card fee.
Banks and credit unions are making out like bandits and siding with the crooks. That's why Lafincs is still going strong after several months. The victims are in the tens of thousands. Also file a complaint at the fbi.gov site - look for the internet fraud link. Doesn't take long. Dslreports.com has a thread on this scam: google "$39.71 fraudulent charge UK" to find other discussions.
Finally, go to consumer watchdog sites like Clark Howard's. He has volunteers who will help you get all fees back from your credit union. I've gotten the same runaround from banks and went to the mat with them, finally getting ALL fees and charges refunded.
What the credit union did is definitely a violation of the law. - asweepaThey took money ouy of my account without asking. sounds like FRAUD to me

- Tee replies to mrobertI got had too! Had to pay $7.50 to get new debit card. Was making sure I did not get charged again. Transaction code from my checking account read: REACCURING CHECK CARD XXXXX1018LAFINCSCOMXXXXX0108CONSETT GB. I reported it to bank and they did temporary reinbursement till they can invesigate it. They said if it proves to be I did buy something they will debit my account again for the $39.71. I googled the transaction code and came up to cancelation/chargeback page. I called. First lady said nothing they can do, didn't know where it came from. She asked for my receipt #. Told her never got receipt cuz never bought anything. She finally hung up on me. Second person, a guy, phone was a total loss for hearing. He said had problem with line. He asked did I want to cancel? Told him no I reported it to bank as fraud already. We argued. I told him no wonder everyone is posting rotten things about your company on internet, can't get no answers. Funny after that he came up with my credit card # I never gave him and my email too. He canceled whatever it was I didn't buy and is refunding my money. I don't care how it happened long as I got my money back. I just kept fighting with them.
- APBI have also a charge from Lafincs-Consett and have to pay 39.71 USD.
I blocked my CC but the still try to charge.
The bank in Holland says I did it by my self and they try to storn the charge anyway.
I also have a charge from EPGBILL.Com.Leboaid.co.
Who the hell is this, are they working together?
Thisone charge from Germany and is 29.99 USD. - mt guySame thing! LAFINCS.COM. never heard of them, never been to there website. $39.71 . I filed a complaint to my bank, and the FBI internet fraud agency. I just want my money back. Tried calling them and some guy who can't speak English answers and says he can't hear me, says it's a bad connection, but still precedes to ask me for my card #. I didn't give it to him. I just hope my bank takes care of it. Take this horrible company down!!!

- LAFINCS Frauded me too! replies to quizzleOk I was charged 40.68 against my credit card. LAFINCS.com. I have not used my card in a few months. The last time I used my card was trying to watch a free new release movie online. I had to sign up for a deal to get the movie. No movie and I canceled the deal. That is the only time I ever used my credit card online. So if you have done the same this could be were it came from.
- tomc| 1 replyI called the number on the billing statement talked to customer service they were very helpful. The never asked for ss# or even my whole cc# they then cancelled the fraudulent account, blocked any future attempts, and refunded my card. All you need to do is just call and talk to a customer representative.
- quizzle replies to tomcIf you call the number listed next to a transaction you never made, why believe they will refund the charges just because they were nice to you? I mean, deceit is their business. The nice customer service rep routine, "yes, we'll refund", buys them TIME, with the hope you don't dispute the charge with your bank before the 90 day deadline (debit card 60 days). Been there, done that.
This is a huge operation and somehow still going strong after it was first reported in July 2010. The banks, credit card companies, and FBI (internet crime watch) seem to be dragging their feet.
The final insult is that most banks make it difficult to get a refund. It simply costs them more to investigate a dispute and issue a refund than to give the customer the runaround.
I happily closed my Bank of America platinum card 2 weeks ago. Used to have over 15 credit cards, now there are two. I don't trust them. Zero Liability? Yeah right.
