Recieved a call from April with Ascension. She said she was calling concerning a deceased person who I actually had know since very young childhood. She asked if I was involved in the funeral arrangements. When I told her I was of no relation to the deceased. In fact I was not even aware that she had passed. However she was my children's step mother so there was a connection and I would not be surprised if she had named me as a contact person. I questioned April as to how my name was associated and how she got my number since I have remarried and our number is not in my name and unlisted. She asked if either of my grown children may have had something to do with funeral arrangements. I told her I would not give her any information about them and that all I could do is take her name and number. That was the end of our conversation. I then googled and checked it out and found this sight. Thank you for all the info I have found. I am putting unknown as call type because she said I was not responsible for any debt.

low life collections group preying on those grieving for their loved ones by making them feel responsible for debts that are not their responsibility. they have been around for a while working under different names. Its best not too talk to them or they won't let go once they have you on the phone. Don't let them play the poor little company who only wants to make things right by having you pay for debts that are not yours. younger brother passed 4 weeks ago and already they are calling. [***]!

Just got a call from Ascension Point about my dad, who passed away 1 1/2 years ago.  Since I am not the executor of his estate, they would not tell me the reason for the call.  Having found this site, I now have an idea...my dad's credit was not perfect and there COULD be some legal debt owed.  I will pass on their info so the responsible person can decide about calling them.
Not pleased that something like this can happen so long after his death.  Is there a time limit on how long after a person dies when calls like this have to stop?  Sure wish we could have an attorney on here to answer questions about the legality of this company's calls.
I would not give the caller (Lori McKay, ext 4094) any info about the person responsible for the estate without knowing who they are and the reason for the call.
I STRONGLY RECOMMEND CAUTION if you deal with this company.

I have been getting calls everyday now for that last 3 weeks from a company  saying they are trying to collect a debt and need to get in touch with the person handling my deceased fathers estate.  I looked this company up on-line thank goodness and saw all of these posts !!  What a shame ! Be very careful, these scam companies have no mercy not even on the deceased.

My husband's ex-wife--they were divorced 17 years ago--passed away in June, and this company has been calling him to collect on her unpaid debts. He has had no legal connection to her for years and is not legally obliged to pay her debts, but at least I understand why the company is calling him. However, today I received an email from _my_ sister (who has absolutely NO connection to his ex-wife) telling me that she has received a call from Ascension Point. I now have to warn all of _my_ family members that this company may be calling them.

I'm particularly upset because it's obvious why Ascension Point called my sister. She is a doctor and is in a higher income bracket than I or any of my other siblings. If the company was truly looking for "a person with the authority to discuss the affairs" of the deceased, as the caller claimed, then I would have gotten a call before my sister did. But they are clearly just looking for money--the source doesn't matter.

My X-HUSBANDS dad died a few months back and I got a call from Paula Wilson today from this place. She said she was looking for the person responsible for the estate of P*** L******* regarding his death. I was caught off guard as my son was named after him and I freaked because I thought she was calling about something happening to my son. I sent her to the attorney handling the estate. How figgin scary is that to think something happened to my son!? The woman seemed to be concerned but from what I have read about this place I am now really pissed. Why would they call me regarding my X-husbands family? jerks!

We have been receiving calls from ascension point forover a month now and sometimes twice a day.
These calls started after I tried to look up details of when a relatives funeral would be. Now they are trying a new tactic. Allof the calls so far have been a computor message. Today it was a live person with an extension #. I urge everyone to report these calls so they can be stopped. There are some unsuspecting souls out there who will be intimidated and will probably actually pay.

These people contacted my neices step father in another state.  He thought her father passed but it was actually her grandfather.
I have been getting the mail  from this address every day and there is no unpaid debt, no outstanding bill period.

There is a special place in hell for these people.  Don't they know what they are doing is wrong.

My husband passed a few months ago and these people keep calling.  They say they are attempting to collect a debt of the deceased.  However, we had no outstanding debt; only assets, so I know this is some sort of scam.  I read online that they try to get personal information so they can file a claim in probate court to attach some of the estate.  I have reported this company to my states' Attorney General.  PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THESE SCAMMERS ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION.

These people must really dig deep looking for family of a deceased person, in this case, my EX-mother-in-law. I was divorced AND changed my name over 8 years ago and they still tracked down the connection between her and me.  The number they called from was 888-806-9074.

Ascension point has been calling me for the past 5 months.  So far I have 49 messages from them on my answering machine.  They call 2 or 3 times a week and sometimes 2 or more times a day.  Some times they don't leave a message.  Guess that's when a real person calls and I don't answer. Most of the time it is a recording asking me to call them. They are calling about my ex husband's financially affairs.  We have been divorced for 30 years and I have remarried and no longer have the same last name.  I have no idea how these people got my name.  I am not responsible for any debt he has and I refuse to call these people back.  They have a new number  - 880-806-9073 or 880-806-9074.  Maybe I can take all the recorded messages from them and go after them for harassment.
