One source states that this is LINCARE's CPAP division.  CPAP stands for Continuous Positive Airway Pressure.  In my opinion any honest business should identify themselves on the caller ID.  So far they have called me 2 times, and left no message.  I didn't answer the phone since the caller ID said unavailable.

They are definitely Lincare and handle CPAP/Bi-PAP.  The Caller ID states unavailable.  I spoke to a representative who called.  She told me that they are aware that the Caller ID states unavailable, but they have no control over it.  According to her, it is the phone companies fault as they are the ones who control what is on the Caller ID.  Whether this is true or not, I don't know.  However, this is what she told me.

that's a auto-dialer for the Lincare SOBs. you're probably a "valued customer" and they are trying desperately to contact you - and pad their insurance-billing scam, O - i mean offer you some VERY valuable service a/o supplies to the item of theirs that you have. complain to them irt this weak ploy and you'll be sure to get MORE phone calls (now that they've confirmed your number, and you've got an established relationship) from them. enjoy...r2

My husband uses a CPAP and sometimes needs supplies. Why don't they leave a message on my machine?

I called the number, and got the CPAP call center.  I use a CPAP, so they were probably calling to refill my supplies.

    CPAPs
Spoke to my local Lincare provider for my CPAP.  They have outsourced there customer service to a call center in Florida (who sends out the supplies (nose pillows, mask, filters, hose).  Past two calls (recent), the caller has left a message stating that they represent Lincare.  They are legit.  Contact your local lincare office if you have questions or concerns.  They would appreciate it.

they send supplies to Medicare patients without the prior consent of the patients- and have even sent hundreds of deceased patients supplies(I know because I have been investigating them from within for over a year)- they have broken a 5 year probation with the Government and will soon be fined again.

They call me monthly, I have quit answering my phone.   The parts don't wear out that quickly.   What is bad is that they are calling my Cell Phone, I gave that to the nearby local office for a specific purpose, if they had questions or a problem filling my initial prescription. Now they need to call my home phone and leave a message. If I don't call back, I currently don't need anything.

LinCare has a pretty good scam calling every month to sell CPAP supplies that get billed to my insurance. I added the number to my local contacts list so LinCare shows up in caller ID regardless. That way I know not to take the call...

It is Lincare and in my experience, they always leave a message.  Not sure why people are so upset over the call.  I got a CPAP through Lincare.  Insurance companies have an agreement with Lincare regarding how often a patient is able to get supplies.  For example, nasal pillows and filters are available monthly; however, I belive tubing is available every other month, and the head strap is available only once every 6 months or once a year (not often enough if you ask me because these seem to stretch out fairly quickly).  The insurance companies, not Lincare, makes the determination regarding how often patients are eligible to receive supplies (and be covered by insurance).

Obviously, Lincare would make more money if everyone ordered all the supplies when available; however, if you don't need it, just say you aren't ready yet.  At least you don't have to go out and buy the stuff on your own time (it's not like they sell CPAP supplies at Walgreens).  Also, it's nice to have someone keep track of how long you've been using your current supplies (do you really check your filters regularly to see if they need to be changed).

Anyway, I don't think it's a scam.  And although Lincare would make more money if you ordered regularly, the phone call you get, in my view, provides a helpful service/reminder.

These people at Lincare are ruthless.  I had service through them for CPAP, but turned the equipment in about 2 months ago and they still keep calling to see if I need any "supplies".  They call at least twice a week.  Finally today, I called and left a message (since there doesn't ever seem to be anyone that answers) and told them to stop calling or I'd report them to the donotcall.gov registry.  (Worth a shot).  Since we no longer have a business relationship, they don't have the right to keep calling, all it is is telemarketing.
Also, anyone else who deals with Lincare - watch your bills and insurance statements closely.  They attempted to over bill me and threatened collection on a non existing balance.

I appreciate the reminders, and the great idea on this board to add Lincare to my contacts. Next time I won't be wondering who called.

I am so glad that they call me to reorder supplies.  I tend to forget to order until after I need something.  Thanks Lincare for keeping my equipment up and running properly.  This has been a wonderful service.  They have never shipped me anything without my approval.

888-544-2715 is Lincare/CPAP supplies. Unless caller ID says who's calling, I don't answer.  I just happened to be at work and they called here.

Although some of you find Lincare's calls annoying, I would rather receive their monthly calls than have to track them down for supplies, which was the case when I began their service several years ago. During those years Lincare's local office did not keep good records and regularly sent the wrong items when I called them. Now they are taking orders and shipping from a central supply center and their service is great.
