This is suppose to be over a continental delware credit card or something that i never have seen, it was taken out in aug 2007 and closed 10/2007.These people have told my daughter to tell me to pay so i dont go to jail, they are threatening charges etc... i asked for their mailing address and i was told they dont have one .
- ria replies to Hate scamsI am dealing with this too. I am in law and do not ever serve notice by phone or leave threatening messages
- Ria| 1 replyI went back at this woman Amanda this morning and told her I had the FBI and the AG's office invovled. They offered me no information from Distribution Restitution and I don't remember the last time I wrote a check. Any hard check went out the window yrs ago when I began using bill pay. I was forced to close bank accounts because money was being drained from my account, 3, maybe 4 yrs ago. I also work for attys and in the all the years I've been in law, I don't ever remember calling anyone to tell them they were being served. They will threaten you to scare them. i asked for proof of alleged debt, she yelled. I wished her a good day and hung up she called back twice back to back, I refused to answer.
I'm so sick of these people and what they get away with. If the debt is mine, and I don't even know what she's talking about, because all she was doing was talking to me about Court, What I don't understand is why am I under investigation for something I don't have any info on but if I call and make payment it's OK?
Something is off and wrong...888-900-3120 and also 801 871 4500 . Although I am in law, I do not believe it is legal for any debt collector to imply criminal charges and jail. It is illegal- Caller: Distribution Restitution

- HLPI have been getting calls from this number as well firs it was phone # 214 484 0067. Which is a local number but when I asked the person who identified himself as Steven Wilson said that they were located in Canada. I live in Texas he told me I wrote a bad check back in 2005 to Sears from my bank of America bank account. I went on to tell him I have never had a back account with bank of America so it’s not my check. I asked him to send it to me via fax and he refused he went on to call himself an officer and he told me that I need to pay it or ill go to jail they are going to summon me with court papers. I told him I don’t appreciate him calling me accusing me of anything that I have not done. He told me my education level must be low he then hung up the phone but when on to say just wait for your court date and plead your case then. I called back and spoke to some one else and I asked if I could speak with a supervisor which was rude and called me a lair and a theft and I needed to pay them and she then hung up. I don’t know who wrote this check or where but I have never shopped at Sears or owned a bank account with bank of America. I am going to report them to the highest extend.
- LHPEveryone needs to report this number before someone really gets their life destoyed with their lies.

- Oh Really| 1 replyMy my. They now have a website. How interesting? It was not there a few months ago. Yet the website says they have been around since 1987. Really? And then when you call, you are routed to a local office? Oh please. What a bunch of frickin BS!
The phone number is cloaked. It routes through a local area code and number... then it says to contact the 888-900-3120 number.
Has any debt validation letter been sent in the mail? NO. Do any of their phone numbers or the address listed post to anything REAL? NO!
There was a post where someone said they sent thugs to their old job, etc. Not sure if I really believe that one. So, former judges and adr professionals are sending people to houses and businesses? Call 911 and have them arrested. That is against the law.
Threats? Illegal. Not following debt collectiing practices. Illegal. Karma is a [***] and I cannot wait for it to bite them in the ass. LOSERS!
Contact your AG of your state and the FTC. They are a scam.- Caller: District Restitution Services
- Seth replies to Timbo97I spoke to 2 seperate lawyers. And bolth seem to think there a fraud. I told them on there last hone call to me aweek ago that all of our conversations were being recorded and directed them to my lawyer.. Havent heard a peep sence. I'm pretty sure there scammers.
- INVESTIGATING UNKNOWN #S replies to SethIt's a scam! This co. must be paying for our information to scam us in paying them for an old debt. Contact the co. They claim to be representing directly to verify.
- RachelI found this thread while searching for info about District Restitution Services. They have called my husband's work and told his boss that he's being prosecuted for writing bad checks. And they said they were with the Sheriff's Office! I called them myself and spoke with someone claiming to be "Citations Officer Allen Murphy". We argued until he hung up on me, he knew that I knew he was full of crap! I called our attorney and also reported them to the FTC. This is clearly not a legitimate company!!

- Angry| 1 replyA rep named Jeanie Ruddy calling from this number claimed to be with the law offices for King County District Courthouse and explained to a co-worker that she was calling for me and that if I didn't call back right away she would send out a warrant for my arrest. She also gave specific details to the co-worker about the case she was supposedly working on.

- AnnoyedThese people have been calling for months now. When I first started receiving the calls I was answering them. The first guy "Mike" claimed that he was on his way to serve me papers, and would see me in a few hours. In the mean time I could call their 800 # and try to get it taken care of before he had to come out. He never showed, that was months ago. I have still not been able to get any information about this serious debt that I owe, they were unwilling to send me any information and claimed that it was 100% my debt. If they are so sure it's my debt, or that it's valid, then why not share what it is that this is in regards to?
The calls dropped off for a while, and have since started again. I don't even bother to answer the phone anymore. The voicemails just claim that I am facing criminal charges and that I have been notified. I could be totally wrong here but I was unaware that you could be "served" via telephone. Even their website says that they won't give out any information without proper identification, so how is it they're serving people via phone now?- Caller: District Restitution Services
- Tee'd Off replies to AngryThese people have been calling me for over a month. Said they were working with my county court house. Called the court house and they said they do not work with this company. I've reported them to the Attorney General, the FTC, and have started contacting lawyers to try to sue them for harassment!
- RachelHow do they get away with impersonating police officers and Sheriff's deputies?? I recommend reporting them to the FTC. I have not heard back from the FTC yet but I definitely filed a complaint. The practices of "District Restitution Services" have to be illegal.

- Neene| 1 replyI have been getting calls from this number along with the 214-481-0067 and also a local (303) number. The lady identifies herself as Investigator Nicole Burtonie with District Restitution Services of Adams County calling with a court order citations and formal summons that she is going to deliver to my place of employment. Stated that she needs a call back from me or my legal representation immediately. I looked up there website which is linked below. They saying a lot of legal stuff but are working out of Canada. They might have a local office but they will not give an address. Try talking to someone there and get formal documentation of the debt is impossible. They insist you pay but will not give no other address besides Canada. Will not give me any documents showing proof of the debt. I have no recollection of the debt and need some proof mailed to my address they have on file before I would even consider and acknowledge such debt. Their collection technique cannot be legal.

- Confused replies to NeeneThese people won't leave me alone, I've asked them not to call me at my place of employment, they continue to do so. I will lose my job if they keep calling me due to there lies.

- OperatorB| 2 repliesThese folks called looking for an employee who has been targeted by the scammers for years now. They have a web site districtrestitution.org that claims they are licensed in all 50 states, but I know from looking it up (NC Dept. of Insurance) that they ARE NOT licensed in N. Carolina, and probably not anywhere else either.
SCAM written all over this outfit. Demand written verification of the supposed debt.
Don't believe ANY of their threats. They can't and don't follow through.

- Sincere replies to OperatorB| 1 replyReceived the same calls about a old pay-day loan also and tried to call back and only voice-mail and could not leave a message because the voice-mail was full. This is a total scam and should be reported. I left a message with the manager at the Doubletree hotel stating that they are using falsafy information buy using their address, On duty customer service said this company is not located there and never heard of them. They are probally buying open market debts and scamming their way to get paid.
