- Tee'd Off replies to SincereWow, great minds think alike! I was going to call the hotel to tell them their address was being used in a scam. If any one is interested, DRS is listed on the BBB of Mid-Western & Central Ontario. I filed a complaint with them. Don't know if anything will come out of it but we can always hope :-)
These people need to be stopped. I got into a huge shouting match with them the other day and they ended up hanging up on me! - jc| 2 repliesThey are at it again now they are using local numbers with a recording to have you call 888-900-3120. We have to put a stop to these criminals. I have contacted the state attorney's office and filed a local report. What are we going to do about these people???

- Tcook replies to jcMy dad got a call from these people leaving a message for me to contact them. I called them and they said that I would be detained and a officer would be over today to arrest me. I ask what the amount was and they said 2000 but they would settle with me for 1086. My dad then called and they told him the settle amount was 1800. I called back and asked why they told my dad something different. She said she didn't know but I had to get it paid today. She said that I took a 700 payday loan but she told my dad I took a 1000 payday loan and that it when into my Chase account. I don't use Chase so at that point I started thinking this was a scam. I reported it to the FTC and thank god we didn't give them a credit card number. They called from a 214-484-0067 and told me to call them back on a 888-900-3120 number. She also stated that they were in UT and provided me a case number? and acted like I had a open case with the courts. Is there anything else that can be done to stop them?
- Tee'd Off replies to jcYep, here we go again. Three weeks of peaceful silence but now they're calling me again. If anyone figures out how to sue these people for harassment, PLEASE let me know!
- DerrickThey contacted me 2 different times, as DRS and as PRG. Claiming I owed for a credit card. I new I didnt have and explained that I didnt. They called my parents, neighbors, and friends telling them I was going to jail and would be served. I sent them a cerified letter requesting proof that I owe this money and to contact me via US mail and never call or I will sue. I sent 2 certified letters 1 to each company. They continue to call and harrass my parents, in their 70's and my family. They told me if I dont pay I will be arrested and taken to court. I told them to go ahead, serve me, lets go to court. I have them recorded with their threats, I also have 7 written afidavits from people they have called, which violates the Fair Credit Debt Collectopns Act. I hope they take me to court. I will file a counter suit for the harrassment and I will win. They are fake, they are NOT legitamate. They are Liars and they are scammers. Call them on thgeir bluffs. They will back down. Good luck, I will post when we speak again.

I have sent a certified letter to District Restitution in Ontario Canada it was returned undeliverable. I have spoken to the person who's address is on District Restitution website and it is the DoubleTree Motel and they have no Suite 2000 or anyone with that name residing in their building.

- It doesnt Matter888-900-3120 IS FRAUD, So they call my old job and the person who took my job over calls me to tell me they leave an automated message with the name "Thomas Whitaker" to call with a fake case number. The problem i have with this is a few things, The company seems to want to be located in Texas and Thomas Whitaker is a nmae of a guy on Death Row in Texas. And when i called to tell them to stop calling and only contact me through mail and that I have filed a complaint, what do you think happen? YES THEY HUNG UP. If they were real deal they would not hang up instead they would be professional. What a joke that every so often they start up again thinking we don't know what they are doing.
PEOPLE TEll others about this fraud, I told someone a year ago when this started to happen to me, and they were like oh my gosh I think I got frauded. They are making a living doing this.- Caller: District Restitution Center

- jobeans| 1 replyReceived two phone calls from this company, the second one today the "Investigator" demanded that I set up a payment for an old payday loan but could not tell me the orginator of the payday loan or the exact amount I supposedly orginally was loaned. I ask for a verification of the debt and was told that it had been mailed to my address and that if I did not pay this debt now I would be subject to check fraud charges being filed against me as a new law was passed at the beginning of this year that allows pay day loan lenders to prosecute you for "check fraud" for a pay day loan. Having went through a messy divorce and not knowing exactly what debt they were talking about as well as being at work when they called, I was super scared, I too am a teacher and can not afford any issues with my credit or criminally so, like an idiot, I paid them $82.40 which was the amount they demanded I pay to stop "litigation" with my credit card. Tonight I googled "District Restitution Services" and about cried my eyes out when reading all of these posts. Same phone number and same scary tactic call that my name, dl and ss where associated with a crime and the investigator was supposedly Angelina Burns, who said I would be criminally prosecuted. I am contacting the AG for my state but in the mean time have cancelled my credit card and my bank will be investigating the charge for fraud. I am so sickened by all of this....I have NEVER had anything like this happen before and can not believe I was so stupid.

- LauraI work for a school corporation and this so-call (fraudulent check collection agency) has pestered me for about 6-8 months. They can not call my home phone anymore because I do not have an answering service. So they went through the schools e-mail system and put a stupid e-mail alert in my supervisor's mailbox...he showed me but said he didn't open it since it pertained to me. Anyone could have read this...I know that my supervisor wasn't the only one to get this. I contacted the tech in charge of our website and he agreed to block anything from the website it was sent from...I hope this works. Something needs to be done about this scam company they have a website the FCC needs to shut them down and soon!!!

- CLP| 1 replyHello, I received a transfered call at my work (Investment Bank) to my direct line with an automated system saying "Thomas Whitaker..... etc ". Well first of all who knows who received this call that transfered it and they probably think Im a felon, but good thing my job does back ground check on us every 3-6 months. I selected "9" to speak w/a rep and the lady was extremely rude and I told her I do not have any outstanding debt of such and to stop calling me or I would call the States Attorneys office. She screamed and said do you want your number removed or do you want to go to jail within the next 30 minutes. I find this to be so ridiculous that I laughed at her and she then said are you threatening me. I said take it how you want, but do not call this number again. She disconnected the call. These people are pathetic and will try to scare you.

- AnneI keep getting calls from this number 888-900-3120 they want me to verify the last four digits of my social security number whichI refused to do.I tried to find out the name of the company that they said i was accused of frauding them but they wouldn't give it to me. they also said i would be getting a summons by wednesday if I didn't verify my social security number and that I could take my chances in front of a judge. I called my lawyer and he said that it sounded like a scam to him and that I was right in not giving them my number. They also have been calling my boss at work on a daily basis.
