89069

I have just received my mobile phone bill and have been charged for 77 text messages received within 13 minutes on 6th December totalling 98.33.  I jave checked the call log on my mobile phone and did not receive any messages on that day from 89069.

This is definately beyond a joke.  These companies should be stopped.

About a year ago i got all this, see page1 under 'simon' the company blue-stream are behind it all, the managing director has already in the last 3 years been fined close to £1.3 million pounds. How in gods name can the authorities allow this to continue, cos the 'company' are continuously offending! It's a f in joke. So my deepest sympathies to anyone who is going through this sh*t. P.s had no success in a refund, but i told the prick on the fone i'd come to glouster and F*ck him up if they contacted me again. Seems to have worked. :)

ALSO got a text from this number saying I was subscribed to something called Funtube for £3 a month. Gave the website funtube.co.uk which I think is a dud from googling it. I've never subscribed to any service, only download from Apple, and have no idea how they got my number.

I received the same txt from funtube last night, i called orange and got no where, i told them they were mugging me, fun tube can't take money from my account so they get Orange to do it for them! Therefore orange are complicit in the scam, this must be illegal, but as with everything in this country no one can or will do anything about it, i guess there is VAT charged on the txt so even the bloody government are in on it!

Orange also refused to sort this out for me and said it is completely legal and that I must sort it out MYSELF as I must have subscribed!!!!  I didn't but they refuse to listen!

"WIN" (89069) are a 3rd party platform who provide the service to these people and in my book that makes them all in collusion with this scam. Orange, WIN, Funtubes and the Government too all make money from this highly dubious practice of reverse charging short code premium rate text messaging. All unsolicited but they use the excuse that you MUST have subscribed on the internet somehow. This could be done by malicious people who don't like you and they could subscribe your phone number on line. IT NEEDS TO BE STOPPED!!!! Ok...I received my money back from Highway connections and they were extremely helpful. My mobile phone number was subscribed via the internet somehow. Probably maliciously.

You MUST respond to the first message or eventually you will be charged every month!!!

Do not text them but ring them to stop it.

It shouldn't happen but what can you do? It's all legal apparently and if someone maliciously subscribes your mobile number on-line then thats that but the company has to send a compliance message by law. Thats when you need to stop them.

I received a fun tubes text message from this number, 89069, on Sunday saying I had signed up to £3 a month text message service - my phone had been off since Thursday so I had definitely not signed up to anything, never have and never would! Didn't reply stop because it's obviously a scam so rang Orange who refused to help in anyway! Have cancelled my contract with Orange a s they are essentially letting people steal my money. Have e-mailed local mp & watchdog. Now trying to choose a new network provider but none of them seem willing to block these kinds of messages - it seems they take 50% of the profit! Fraud is so much more annoying when you can see it happening but can't stop it!

On the 7th of march I got the same 89069 txt to say that I subscribed to there stupied service.
Looking at the above looks like no help from Orange so i will tell them to shove there contact (Been with them 17 years).

If orange or the other mobile companys do stop this scam there we need to get the PM mobile numbers and subscribe them to the service and see how they enjoy being ripped off.

I sent a text "STOP" not sure if it will work by the sound of it it wont.

Got a txt from this number saying i'm now registered to funtube for £3 a month. I have not regstered for this at all.

It gives an email address of support@funtubes.co.uk to respond to.

Surely my phone operator should refund me if i've been charged anything, because i havent registered for this service.

Hi mate. Don't know what the address it now lost the info. The company's called blue stream and their head office is in gloustershire that's the company who's number txt is 89069. Good luck pal.

Please be aware that 89069 is a shared shortcode service which is owned by WIN plc. Many different service providers use the number, if you have any doubts who the message service is coming from, please check it with WIN plc who can direct you through to the right service provider.

got a text message for 89069, funtubes, saying i was subscribed, I have never subscribed to anything like this, had to send a STOP message, after googling and finding out who they are.

Can they just set randam people up with a subsription like this, I fear for my bill when it comes in.
