- Lara replies to GrahamNThanks for your highly inappropriate comments and views here - I am sure that the other readers here love to hear about your fantasies although they may be better posted somewhere more appropriate where people are actively looking for adult comments and services rather than bemoaning them.
Despite working for an adult services company I never feel the urge to be part of the service although I would probably get less abuse and more money :o)
Always happy to help - StarKelle| 2 repliesI was horrified the first time we received this text and deleted it from the phone. Not realising they had charged us for the privilege of receiving the text! I know that texting STOP would just add to our costs.
This number is used by a childrens charity at the community centre, rather than installing a landline, used for everyday use and often used by young children [supervised]. This number is registered with the TPS already
We've now received more than 3 of these messages and been charged £3 each time. So not happy. Orange are not bothered by this and aren't willing to help us.- Caller: funtubes

- Miss C| 1 replySame thing has happened to me.
Can I ask, has anybody else recently had their SIM card renewed with Orange?
I have had the same number, and thus the same SIM card, since I was 16 - that's 10 years. I bought a new mobile phone recently, still on pay-as-you-go, but Orange claimed that my SIM card was very old and said they would transfer my number, as it was, on to a new SIM card. I agreed and I assume they just dispose of the old SIM cards in their own way...
I am probably just being angry and paranoid, but I wonder if the so called 'Fun-Tubes' are somehow acquiring these old SIM cards and numbers from Orange?
Thought it was worth a shot to check if this had happened to anybody else prior to being scammed?- Caller: Fun-Tubes

- Lara replies to StarKelleI am more than happy to assist you with this matter - please contact me on 08431 102 500 or email me at - support@funtubes.co.uk
- Lara replies to Miss CWhen a new sim card is sent to you it will also have "hidden" lines, these are two other associated numbers with that sim card, a fax line and a data line. If these are recycled numbers that have not been properly cleansed a subscription will still show on them as soon as they are reactivated.
Please call us on 08431 102 500 or email support@funtubes.co.uk
Lara - asuser| 1 replyI, like many comment posters here, have received unsolicited texts from 89069, that went unnoticed in terms of billing until I recently looked at bill itemisation - £1.50 a pop.
Thanks to the other guidance and comments posted I tried the numbers suggested and spoke to Lara last week, who suggested that I would be receiving a refund. I'm still waiting on that, although I guess it could still come via 2nd class post.......
Has anyone received a refund from Fun Telecom? There are plenty of posts re: refund suggested, but has this been followed through? Call me cynical but I'm reluctant to phone the 08431 number suggested as it will be a non-geo number. and it will incur yet more charges.
Also, has anyone had a good take up from PhonePayPlus.org against 89069?
Thanks again for the informative posts.- Caller: Funtubex

- asuser replies to asuserUpdate on my earlier post - apparently the refund, by postal order, has arrived today. Thanks to Lara for sorting that out.
- BOB12345 replies to StarKelleHi,
I have previously worked for a Premium Rate Text Messaging company, and any numbers that are registered by the TPS does not apply to Mobile Phone Numbers, companies are not required to check the TPS for sending out Mobile Text Messages.
I hope this helps? - Andy M replies to Andy MUpdate on my previous post:-
Well, the postal order arrived yesterday for a full refund. Only £3, but I see others have had huge bills run up by this mess that is 89069. Goes to show how a quick internet search and following it up to WIN can get things actioned quickly. Pleased its all sorted but still NOT PLEASED it both happened in the first place and I still have no answer how my mobile number got into their system in the first place. - mightymum replies to Ashleythank u for ur link, i too stumbled across a site and have had 37 messages at 1.50 a pop. even text 3 times saying stop yet recived more, phoned them todat basicly said it was my fault didnt read small print. as it was advertised as a free site and no content was watched nor downloaded. i have sent an email so lets hope i get some where as i wont let this drop.
many thanks - RichardI had been getting these messages for 20 months and had just been deleting them without any thought about the fact that i'd been charged. Phone bill was high this month so I happened to check and noticed I'd been charged £1.50 per text message.
Anyway, called WIN to get a block on my phone (01494750500).
They put me in contact with the actual company (phone number 0843 1102500) and they have offered me a full refund without question. It took no time at all.

- eve richardsonI received a message from funtubes saying subscribe to it for 3pound per month or text stop to 89069. I did nothing and had the money stopped off my phone! I never asked for this text message nor did I ask to join them at any point - I dont even know who they are.
I then text them the stop message and since then have had about 8 or more messages saying I have been removed from their database! Not very happy as the only way to stop them annoyuing you is to switch off your phone - surely they had no right to take money off me for a service I had not asked for and now to harrass me constantly!- Caller: FUNTUBES

- Miss BI'm a victim of this scam too. Thankfully I've never texted 'STOP' but called Orange today and will be calling these [***] tomorrow morning. Hopefully that'll stop it, else wise i'll be on to trading standards, the police and my solicitor!

- AdeHaving had several of these rude and franly obscene texts from both 89069 and other mobile numbers I got totally hacked off.
My Orange contract bill has increased by about £10 - £15 over 3 months and I dod not reply with STOP or STOP ALL.
I called Orange they said nothing to do with them contact the person sending these messages.
I found the whocallsme site after googleing the 89069 number.
So today I called them up and spoke to a guy called Graham expalined how annoyed I was and asked why I was getting these texts and how did they get my number.
He said they are a 3rd party and do not send the messages but only provide the system or infrastructer to do so.
He said he has automatically put a stop to all these messages with immediate effect - perhaps rather that sending a text that you will be charged with give him a call.
He also said he is fully aware of this site and said most of the information on it about 89069 is not true!
Apparently 89069 is operated by OWO he told me to call them to enquire their number is 0843 116 997.
What gets me is how did these people get MY details my number is a works number so I can only assume either a competitor or disgruntled customer has signed me up and hence getting these texts.
I will contact OWO and ask for the IP address that was logged when my number was submitted to them.
Also what has just sprung to mind is how do we the General Public not know if these companies are searching online for mobile numbers used in advertisements, for sale sections or in news papers and then entering them into their own system to send the messages to as I know I have not ever signed up with my mobile number to any chat or adult orientated site.
Hope this information helps.
