I am a Verizon Wireless customer and do not have a smart. I have been recieving calls from this number for a week, but finally got a chance to answer today. The call is from India and there was an Indian woman on the other end who spoke really fast stating I qualified for a $1000.00 Government Grant because I didnt file bankruptcy in the last six months. She said the only stipulation is that I must spend the money on like bills, or schooling and not on things like drugs and alcohol. She verified my name and address and said she could transfer the money within 45 minutes if I provide her with a checking accoun, debit, credit or prepaid card. I told her I didnt have any of those can she send a check. She said she cant sent a check, I can just go to the local store and purchase a prepaid card. I said ok what is your number so I can call you back......She said how long will it take you to get one I will call you back? I said a hour she said ok I will call you back. When she calls back Im gonna play with her and just give her all type of randon card numbers until she gets irritated and hang up. LOL SCAM!!!!!

I've gotten 15 e-mails from Benin Africa offering me millioins $,who they think us hard working
Americans are? Benin Africa can't feed their hungry,watch the phone #'s and info they need to take
our or yr hard earned.And now I'm also getting calls from 916 which requires bank,debit or credit
card info.   THEY MUST BE FROM ANOTHER PLANET!
DO NOT GIVE UP ANY OF YR INFO UP.

After reading all the comments on these scammers I couldn't wait until they called me again so I could fuk with them. I said hello and when the guy, obviously from India starting asking me questions all I said was yeah then I just starting saying hello over and over again. He finally just hung up on me.

I got the same call..i've called the local police, the FBI and the FCC and no one has done anything to stop these harassing calls..it's getting to the point where I can't even answer my phone anymore!

Called my cell phone and when I saw the international number.....I didn't answer.
It would be nice if these people would get a REAL job!

Anytime I get calls from an out of state number I answer in Spanish. If it's no one I know I keep going in Spanish. Totally throws them off.  This one kept telling me I could get $7000 for school before they realized I wasn't speaking English.

I hope these idiots are having fun wasting their time calling people who don't anwer their phones!!

It might be At&t then because I am getting the same phone calls and $7000 grant bs and I as well have At&t

I keep getting calls from this number and then when I answer, they hang up.

Didn't answer the three calls I got from this number, but from the numerous posts it is obviously best to ignore them. My husband and I just upgraded our AT&T phones and signed up for UVerse just last week... anyone else? I wouldn't put it past AT&T to sell the numbers.

I got the exact phone call twice today. I hope this stops soon, it's already annoying!

I got phone call from this #916234434520 with person has an big accent telling me I choised bt goverment free money$7000.00 she verfy my info and wants any cc# or checking acct or saving and gave me confermation # and another number to call DC to get the money

I just got a call from this number. I didn't pick up b/c about an hr or so before I got a call from another scam number! I'm waiting for calls for an interview. This is really unnerving.

i just got this call right now it sounded like an idian guy. he said i recieved grant money of 7000 dollars. DONT DO IT!! he wanted my account number !

I just got a call from this number today and they told me the same things. I actually thought it was true because I just dropped my classes and owe about 14K...

Received a call twice to my cell phone. The first time I received the call I didnt answer and checked the number online. It seemed to be solicitation or some fraud ring. Second time, I answered and I asked what it is regarding and they hung up. Noise in background. Some time of fraud or telemarketing call.

Have been getting a call from this number for about a week!  It won't ring but 3 - 4 times then it hangs up.
They called me yesterday about 10 times.  My phone shows it is coming from India!  What can we do to stop this?

Did not answer, but they attempted to get me!
