I am getting calls daily from this number and when you call it back it is no longer in service also calls from 405-200-0263 they cant speak good English saying I owe a loan back or else.  I am getting tired of dealing with this now and need help!!

Justin McClane from the Law Offices and Steve Jones from the Sheriff's Office has called me.  Both from unpublished numbers or a verizon number that was changed or disconnected.  Like everyone else, I supposedly owe him money, and I said that is fine, you have my address send me the details.  I have even sent a fax telling him to refrain from calling me at work.  That didn't work, so i forward him to my voicemail but he amazingly nevers leaves no messages.  I did get an address and it is of a residencial area.  Same thing with all the background noise, it sounds like there is a sweat shop be ran in the background. I have time the next couple of weeks, I will be calling California and trying to get some contact numbers and see what we can do about this putts.

I recd a phone call today at home and at work from the same group of "middle eastern" gentlemen(if we can call them that) stating that I owe a bill to cashnet and that I need to take care of it. He proceeded to tell me that I would be arrested tomorrow at 11 a.m. and that I was going down for check fraud. Never had a loan with "CashNet"-at first I was very startled, I mean, this guy knew my name, SS#, bank name, mothers name, etc...
I googled the number and found various websites regarding this scheme, which makes me feel better---I will NEVER give them info (even though he never asked for any, seemed like he had it all right in front of him)So,you are not alone, this is just the world we live in anymore-Pretty Scary though!!

according to the BBB website, the address this "company" uses, 200 Anaheim Blvd Anaheim CA 92805 is the address for the Anaheim City Hall.
If that doesn't indicate it's a scam, I don't know what does.

I had a call from +94 19618518. Asking me for my social. I could barley hear anything he was saying. I saw seone
talikng about super caller on the iPhone  what is that. How do we stop this from happening again?

They said I owe them over $5000 dollars form a payday loan I requested in November 2008 they had my social security number but I declied the call

Well I got a call for this phone number yesterday and didn't answer, he left a message and couldn't understand him, he said i owed cashnet 500.00 and to send it otherwise I would be arrested along with my 2 references. Funny thing is I only borrowed one time for 150.00 and paid it back in May 2008. So I called him back and I said what courthouse, county, amt, date loan was taken out, everytime he put me on hold and then came back on and started talking about something else, I finally said that I know this is a scam and if you call me again I will have you arrested, he hung up and hasn't called back since. PS I called Cashnet and they are aware of this and it is being investigated.

Just got one of these calls this morning at 11:10 from the 941-961-8518 number and same thing, thick accent on this woman, lots of backround noise, and when i tried to call back no one answered...but I did get them the 3rd time after reading these posts and screamed at them to not call me again and that I would file a police report. My friend is a reporter for a paper and now that I see there is a lot of people on here I might just have her do a story on it. How are they getting our information? This is really scary!

Christina, I am glad we have websites like this. Can't believe they call almost everyone that has either taken out a payday loan and fully repaid claiming it wasn't and that you will be arrested. I have reported this to my police dept and as of today I have not received a call back from them since tuesday. Good luck and i hope your friend runs that story I am contacting my local paper to see what they can do.

Please spread this. It's important that people are educated on this scam as it has begun to become popular. This particular group began in 2007. The have used over a hundred different phone numbers and at least a dozen different company/agency names. I will list a few below. They are from Asia Pacific and have never even stepped foot on American soil. However, they are terrorizing and scamming Americans out of their money. Even if you did have a payday loan and have not paid it back, they are not authorized to collect that debt. They claim that they work for/with Cashnet, however they do not. They have an inside source in which they paid for applicant's information that has been submitted for loans. So whether you applied for a loan and never got it, or if you applied and did get it, your information has been sold to these scam artists. DO NOT PAY THEM, and do not entertain them. Once they feel that they've scared you, they target you. If they conclude that they won't be getting any money from you, they drop you and move on to the next target. I hope this information helps. I've been investigating this group for quite some time now and thanks to these posts I'm able to continue tracking them. I've worked diligently to have them stopped, however I've only been able to get them to stop using the same phone numbers and company/agency names.

I have had the same thing happen to me! Claiming to be with the LAW FIRM and his name was David Jones! Thick accent could hardly understand him and a bunch of noise in the background! He claims that I owe over $1000.00 for an unpaid payday loan which I never obtained but he had all my information! It is scary! I had a feeling something was not right because he would threaten to arrest me at home and even at my job! He did call my job several times and my cell phone and leave these messages saying he wished me good luck in court!  He did leave a call back # of 661-210-4688. How can I make this stop?

Unfortunately there is no real way to make them stop. They're operating outside of the US and therefore law enforcement agents cannot help. The numbers they use are not legit numbers which also hinders the ability to stop them. They use their computers to make the calls illegally obtaining this fake telephone numbers. They are crooks.

The best advice I can give you is to tell them they aren't getting any money from you and if they wish to pursue then they may do so through your lawyer. Don't worry, you don't need a lawyer, and they won't pursue with a lawyer. Their usual reaction is to yell and curse at you. Perhaps threaten with arrests, blah blah blah. It's all fake and they can't do anything, just as the local law enforcements can't.

Don't lose any sleep over this. They enjoy harrassing us Americans and stealing from us. Don't give them the pleasure.

BEWARE OF THIS SCAM!

I have gotten three very threatening and scary messages on my cell phone from an individual with a STRONG Middle Eastern accent.  The number that was recorded on my cell was (941)961-8518. The same individual also called my place of employment twice and was very rude to the person who answered the phone.

Due to the threatening nature of the messages, I was scared to return the calls.  Instead, I contacted my local Police Department and they advised me not to return the calls.  

The caller identifies himself as Henry Smith and demands that I return the call.  The call back number on the first two messages was 714-598-4240 and 415-200-0284 on the third.  He states that it is an “urgent, time sensitive matter and that either I call back or have my attorney call back because he can not be responsible for what will happen next, and may God be with me and my child as the situation unfolds upon me if I choose to ignore the call.”  

In doing some on line research today, I learned that this is a total scam. These scammers attempt to extort money from consumers with a myriad of false and illegal threats, and alternately pose as debt collectors, federal and state law enforcement officers, lawyers, and bankers. This is a very active group of scammers, many of who are calling from India (and probably other countries) and are in cahoots with a group of American payday loan scammers.

I have forwarded all of the information to the FBI, FTC, Secret Service,  Attorney General, and my local Police Department.  I encourage everyone who gets a call from this number to do the same.  Something has to be done to stop these crooks.  Until I found out it was a scam, I feared for both my daughter’s safety and mine!

I recieved a call today from this guy with a really thick accent from 941-961-8518. he left a message as shawn taylor demanding i call him back or he wish me luck with what was about to come down on me. he left this number 661-210-4683. when i called back at first he wanted my phone number and when i wouldnt give it to him he hung up on me. i called back a second time and when he picked up he said my full name and asked what i wanted! give this man no personal info. check your credit reports. please cont to report him!

[***] camel jocky called me saying i owe 5000.00 in from a bank loan of some sort. i said [***]-a-you i dont owe [***]. dont back down from them they prey on fear.

I just received a call from them a few minutes ago, and had to look this up. A woman with a strong Indian accent, said that her name was Shawn Brown. She also told me that I owed a payday loan, and if I didn't pay it back, I would be executed on tomorrow. This is really crazy. Please do not answer these calls. They also block their numbers.

Lady (extremely difficult to understand due to her India accent) left message on cell - I have saved as it is very threatening ... She starts out as " This is a warning message ... must call second you get this at 661-210-4689 ... you will be (inaudiable) .... again, Shari, you or your ___?___ attorney must call or we will issue ____?____ be no good for you."  I called the 941/961-8518 number and Verizon phone system states the number is no longer in service.  I didn't try the 661 number.  This is very upsetting ... sounds like quite a few others rec'd similar calls!

I received this call and the person asked for mt sister. I couldnt understand why he was asking for her. he mentioned my business which i, nor my sister mentioned to anyone but my sis said the guy had our friends names and said her last 4 of her social. My sis knows its a scam. SO the number he gave me to give her is 661-210-4688. He kept telling me it was regarding a legal matter. I kept on him because he said an old business name which no one should have known about. Plus that wasnt current anyway. MAJOR SCAM!! DO NOT GIVE THEM OR VERIFY ANY INFORMATION THEY SAY!! btw.. the name he gave was  Alan McDonald. DK if i spelled the first name right.. but thats what he said.

I received a call from a man and a woman with very thick accents stating that I was a suspect in 3 different felony charges that I took a payday loan from Cash Net and never repaid however I never received a payday loan from Cash Net these are a bunch of crooks.

I had a man call me with a middle eastern accent but he wasnt calling about a loan like everyone else he first sang to me a love song then he told me he loved me and that I was his angel he knew my full name my email address pretty much everything he called me 15 times yesterday and 5 times today and left message after message about"how it wasn't in his heart to hurt me" so I finally picked up cussed him out and he hasnt called back since if he calls again im going to have his number blocked.
